The guy who just had brain surgery

Posted: Jul 25, 2017

Enough to say to the world that his colleagues are not owned by or subordinate to Trump.  I don't have the stomach to call myself a pub after what they've done for 40 years, but he makes me proud anyway.  Order, what a concept.  Bet wanna be king Trump is furious.  McCain has more balls than ANY of those who defend Trump's incompetent narcissistic words and actions

you know he voted with his party, right? - hawtmk

To further discussion on a bill to "kill Obamacare" - which is was Trump wants, right?

I did watch - I can disagree with the politics

and at the same time see the way he stood up to Trump. I can see the good in someone who doesn't happen to agree with me. I have seen no other republican stand up and say the truth that Trump doesn't like. I admire that.

Has Anyone Here Had Bariatric Surgery?Dec 10, 2009
I am just trying to get as much info as possible.  Looks right now like it will be a RNY in India (insurance does not cover it, cost including air fair and all medical costs around $8,000 compared to 25-30,000 in the USA.)  Has anyone here gone through it and how was the process?  Was it open or lap?  What was the recovery time?  How have you adapted to the dietary changes afterwards?   ...

Surgery/WorkMay 30, 2012
I am having upcoming surgery and do not want to use what little bit of sick time I have (because then I'm in a pickle if I get the flu or something).  I inquired if I could use a few vacation days and then have a few off unpaid if needed (because I often use vacation days for necessary things rather than something pleasant).  I was told I could either go the FMLA route and will have to eat up any sick time I have or have to use all vacation time, which will wipe mine out. Do most ...

Surgery For De Quervain's Dec 31, 2012
Did anyone have surgery for de Quervain's tenosynovitis?  I had one injection a year ago, which resolved the issue.  However, a few months later the condition returned worse than ever.   My surgeon said the procedure "usually" eliminates the problem, but scar tissue may form which would cause pain, and the need for an additional procedure.   ...

I'm Having Vein Surgery And I'mAug 02, 2014
I'm hoping someone on this board will have had, or know someone who has had, vein ablation therapy, also called EVLT and EVLA.  It's done in the doctor's office under Versed twilight sedation and local numbing medicine in each incision on the leg.  I have chronic venous insufficiency, which has, over the past year, taken a toll on my life.  I have constant aching pain in both calves every waking moment.  The pain even wakes me in up from sleep.  Both ankle ...

Rotator Cuff SurgeryMar 18, 2011
Has anyone out there had rotator cuff surgery? I am afraid that is what I am facing.  I am having an MRI in a few days and then probably talking to a surgeon.  It has gotten to the point that I can't handle the pain anymore when I "forget" and use that arm the wrong way.  How long did it take you to get back to working??  I can't afford to be out 6 weeks as I have no disability insurance and basically as an MT living from paycheck to paycheck.  I do have 2 wee ...

ADVICE FOR MT WHO'S S/P BACK SURGERYAug 23, 2012
I've been a MT for about 30 yrs. I had to go on disability due to back pain, then had 2 back surgeries. Thank God the neurosurgeon did a GREAT job and I'm ready to go back to work, but I HAVE to get up at least once an hour to walk for like 15 minutes. What do I tell (if I do) a prospective employer that I have this problem? How do I do this? I've got to get back to work now! Thanks! ...

Getting Second Opinion Recent Eye SurgeryMar 22, 2013
I decided to contact one of the managers where I had my cataract surgery about 4 weeks ago now as striving to see what other options might be open for me. Needless to say I do not have any desire to return to the original surgeon, not that he failed but with his flaring up about a perfectly innocent comment from me, will not trust him in going forward with any tweeking that might need to be done. I have an appointment to see the manager on Monday. I like to speak face to face with a person, not ...

Stressing About Surgery, Not For The UsualAug 07, 2013
So I went to the orthopedist in May, had xray of my shoulder. At that time it was popping quite a bit and hurting (hurting that is until I got to the office, but you know how that is). Bottom line, xray done, doctor studied for a minute (could see his scanning as he was directly outside the room pondering the radiograph). He said you can just watch and if it should become more painful then surgery. Ok so it got worse over these few months. Am trying to sit operation up, getting okay from PCP (to ...

Post Gallbladder Surgery QuestionMar 24, 2010
Hi Fellow MTs:   I was wondering if anyone that has had their GB out has had any pain with the trocar sites that bothered them.  I am 1 month out from GB surgery and it seems as though I have more pain in one of these sites than the others.   It is a slight throbbing type pain and I have good days and bad days with some nausea, but not a lot.   Luckily I have Phenergan for nausea.    I know that some people have GB symptoms after surgery but it w ...

Does Anyone Know Why Doctors Keep Delaying Surgery On Bunionectomy?Aug 13, 2013
I am getting free healthcare right now (lost job). I have severe hallux valgus deformity with hammer toe #2 toe. It is obviously painful and I can't walk without pain and need to find a job. I am on unemployment now and this would be the perfect time to do the surgery so I have time to heal. Doctor said come back in four months. Is it because I am getting free healthcare? It's a program here in Cleveland at Metrohealth Medical Center that just started this summer. Just wondering ...

Fox Proven Hazardous To BrainDec 17, 2010
Extended exposure to Fox News makes voters stupid, university study finds   The troublesome record of spin by conservative television station Fox News has long been a cause for concern to many Americans, who frequently allege that the nation's most viewed "news" network has the effect of dumbing down voters.   Turns out, they were right.   A University of Maryland study (PDF) published earlier this month found that people in the survey who had the most exp ...

Does Romney Have Brain Damage?May 25, 2012
I'm posting this everywhere I can think of hoping it gets some traction before the election.  Y'know how Mitt said he 'didn't remember' cutting off that kid's hair when he was 18 years old?  (Old enough to be charged as an adult with assault, but that's another issue). Well, back when he was fresh out of high school, he went to France for his Mormon missionary work.  It's little known and it's been scrubbed mostly out of his Wiki and o ...

I am worry free. I release all fears of not being perfect. I am good enou ...

White Matter Lesions On Brain And Now Gliosis?Jan 09, 2012
Okay been battling "possible MS" for 3 years, started with facial tics, numb head. Went to 3 neuros who said did not have MS and it was my neck. Now I have bilateral trigeminal neuralgia and both legs are going numb. All brain MRIs show white matter lesions and now "gliosis"  I cannot take much more. "Your Brain On Politics: The Cognitive Neuroscience OfSep 26, 2012
Okay, I found this interesting and actually rather fun reading. Note going in what it says near the end--these are GENERALITIES. We're all very complex and use all parts of our brain, and have our own iindividual mixtures of functioning. It does hopefully help illuminate where those nutsos on the "other" side might be coming from, though. :) Discover Magazine: "It may seem like a stretch to say that one could predict whether you lean left or right by looking at a brain scan—no questi ...
