Has anyone had surgery, had nerve block placed

Posted: Mar 14, 2014

Wish had never had nerve block to help with pain afterwards, now neck pain, etc. and just seeing if any others had this happen to them.

I think this is something you should report to your doctor. I've never had a nerve block, but it seems to me that it shouldn't end up causing the pain it's supposed to treat.

Butcher BlockOct 01, 2013
Does anyone know what an "old" butcher block might sell for?  It is unusual in that it has four different legs.  My mother bought it at an auction years ago, but I don't even know what she paid for it.  My father's neighbor wants to buy it, but we have no idea what to ask for it.  Could we get an auctioneer come to the house to give us an estimate as to the value of the piece?   Thanks. ...

Democrats Block Key Witness AgainstJul 28, 2017
Senate Democrats used a parliamentary maneuver Wednesday to cut short a high-profile hearing, where a key witness was set to testify on Russia's misdeeds and also raise fresh allegations against the company behind the infamous anti-Trump dossier. Bill Browder, the CEO and co-founder of Hermitage Capital, was set to tell the Senate Judiciary Committee that the co-founder of the firm Fusion GPS was hired to conduct a "smear campaign" against him. Further, he planned to testify the campai ...

Democrats Block 20-week Abortion Ban.Sep 22, 2015
blocked a Republican bill that would ban most abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The measure failed to advance in a 54-42 vote, falling short of the 60 vote threshold needed. Democratic Sens. Bob Casey (Pa.), Joe Donnelly (Ind.) and Joe Manchin (W.Va.), who all oppose abortion rights, joined Republicans in voting to advance the bill. Republican Sens. Susan Collins (Maine) and Mark Kirk (Ill.), who support abortion rights, voted against it. The vote comes amid a roiling debate over Pl ...

Has Anyone Here Had Bariatric Surgery?Dec 10, 2009
I am just trying to get as much info as possible.  Looks right now like it will be a RNY in India (insurance does not cover it, cost including air fair and all medical costs around $8,000 compared to 25-30,000 in the USA.)  Has anyone here gone through it and how was the process?  Was it open or lap?  What was the recovery time?  How have you adapted to the dietary changes afterwards?   ...

Surgery/WorkMay 30, 2012
I am having upcoming surgery and do not want to use what little bit of sick time I have (because then I'm in a pickle if I get the flu or something).  I inquired if I could use a few vacation days and then have a few off unpaid if needed (because I often use vacation days for necessary things rather than something pleasant).  I was told I could either go the FMLA route and will have to eat up any sick time I have or have to use all vacation time, which will wipe mine out. Do most ...

Surgery For De Quervain's Dec 31, 2012
Did anyone have surgery for de Quervain's tenosynovitis?  I had one injection a year ago, which resolved the issue.  However, a few months later the condition returned worse than ever.   My surgeon said the procedure "usually" eliminates the problem, but scar tissue may form which would cause pain, and the need for an additional procedure.   ...

I'm Having Vein Surgery And I'mAug 02, 2014
I'm hoping someone on this board will have had, or know someone who has had, vein ablation therapy, also called EVLT and EVLA.  It's done in the doctor's office under Versed twilight sedation and local numbing medicine in each incision on the leg.  I have chronic venous insufficiency, which has, over the past year, taken a toll on my life.  I have constant aching pain in both calves every waking moment.  The pain even wakes me in up from sleep.  Both ankle ...

Is Cruz And Kasich Plan To Block TrumpApr 26, 2016
Listening to Kasich double talk his and Cruz plan to block Trump now saying it is not a plan but he has just decided not to campaign in certain states    This idiot believes that if he does not campaign voters will automatically vote for Cruz. That is going to backfire big.  Kasich is banking on voters not voting for him because he did not campaign and their votes will automatically go to Cruz and not Trump.  With this Kasich/Cruz plot, I hope Trump wins overwhelmingly. &n ...

Democrats Won't Be Able To Block Trump Appointments Due To RulesNov 19, 2016
Senate Democrats are not going to be able to block Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions bid to become attorney general. And they can’t do much to stop Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo from assuming the helm of the CIA. And they have only themselves to thank for it. That’s because exactly three years ago, the Democratic Senate majority — led by Harry Reid (Nev.) — rammed through controversial rules fundamentally changing the way the Senate does business. They unleashed in November 2013 what’s call ...

Senate Democrats Block Military Funding For TheNov 06, 2015
preventing appropriations from going forward. The Democrats did this for one simple reason: they want leverage to push their liberal priorities in all the other spending bills. In short, they are using military funding as a hostage. Just last week, the Senate passed the Bipartisan Budget Act, a budget deal that raised the legal spending caps for both defense and non-defense discretionary spending. This deal, which was opposed by many Republicans, gave President Obama and Democrats in Cong ...

Rotator Cuff SurgeryMar 18, 2011
Has anyone out there had rotator cuff surgery? I am afraid that is what I am facing.  I am having an MRI in a few days and then probably talking to a surgeon.  It has gotten to the point that I can't handle the pain anymore when I "forget" and use that arm the wrong way.  How long did it take you to get back to working??  I can't afford to be out 6 weeks as I have no disability insurance and basically as an MT living from paycheck to paycheck.  I do have 2 wee ...

Getting Second Opinion Recent Eye SurgeryMar 22, 2013
I decided to contact one of the managers where I had my cataract surgery about 4 weeks ago now as striving to see what other options might be open for me. Needless to say I do not have any desire to return to the original surgeon, not that he failed but with his flaring up about a perfectly innocent comment from me, will not trust him in going forward with any tweeking that might need to be done. I have an appointment to see the manager on Monday. I like to speak face to face with a person, not ...

Stressing About Surgery, Not For The UsualAug 07, 2013
So I went to the orthopedist in May, had xray of my shoulder. At that time it was popping quite a bit and hurting (hurting that is until I got to the office, but you know how that is). Bottom line, xray done, doctor studied for a minute (could see his scanning as he was directly outside the room pondering the radiograph). He said you can just watch and if it should become more painful then surgery. Ok so it got worse over these few months. Am trying to sit operation up, getting okay from PCP (to ...

U.S. Senate Republicans Block Veterans' Health BillFeb 28, 2014
