I would like prayer for my husband and for myself. My husband needs a surgery to fix his vertebraes in his neck and we have been looing for a way to get it done. I have applied at the state and it is held up until and if they do select our name. I have been looking for a medical grant of some sort to get it paid. Also, I am going to start school in March,2010 for MEdical Transcriptionist, and I have received a pell grant but I need a way to pay my living costs while I go to school. With my husband off on medical leave and me going to school. I am not sure what we are going to do. We are staying at my moms house and her husband just had surgery as well. So income is very hard to come by for us. I would like prayer to help us get through all this. I know God will help us some how. Pray for us to have strength as well. Thank you and God Bless.

I am so sorry to hear about your situation. I went through cervical spine surgery in 2004 for stenosis and now am having problems. I will be praying that a door will open for you for money. God is in control and I know He will open a door for you.

Just to let anyone know. I am not by any means waiting for anything to come to me and my husband. I have been researching and looking for a way to get my husbands's surgery done. I have applied for jobs but have not been asked to work anywhere as of yet. I decided to go to school and get training in a field that I could do from home. I have limited funds and we are in a financial circumstance. My husband may not be able to work again after his surgery. He was told to file for long term disability. Just to let anyone know who may think that I am dreaming. I just am looking for resources to keep my internet up and a roof over our head till I get through schooling which by the way I am doing online in a virtual classroom for 9 months. I know nothing is for free and I am doing the best I possibly can. Thank you. Any information would be appreciated.

I am just trying to get as much info as possible. Looks right now like it will be a RNY in India (insurance does not cover it, cost including air fair and all medical costs around $8,000 compared to 25-30,000 in the USA.) I am having upcoming surgery and do not want to use what little bit of sick time I have (because then I'm in a pickle if I get the flu or something). I inquired if I could use a few vacation days and then have a few off unpaid if needed (because I often use vacation days for necessary things rather than something pleasant). Has anyone out there had rotator cuff surgery? I am afraid that is what I am facing. I am having an MRI in a few days and then probably talking to a surgeon. I've been a MT for about 30 yrs. I had to go on disability due to back pain, then had 2 back surgeries. Thank God the neurosurgeon did a GREAT job and I'm ready to go back to work, but I HAVE to get up at least once an hour to walk for like 15 minutes. So I went to the orthopedist in May, had xray of my shoulder. At that time it was popping quite a bit and hurting (hurting that is until I got to the office, but you know how that is). Bottom line, xray done, doctor studied for a minute (could see his scanning as he was directly outside the room pondering the radiograph). Cousin to have the other leg operated on today. It is his femur and they will put him on his stomach for that. Hi Fellow MTs: I was wondering if anyone that has had their GB out has had any pain with the trocar sites that bothered them. I am getting free healthcare right now (lost job). I have severe hallux valgus deformity with hammer toe #2 toe. It is obviously painful and I can't walk without pain and need to find a job. I am on unemployment now and this would be the perfect time to do the surgery so I have time to heal. Doctor said come back in four months. Is it because I am getting free healthcare?
