Talk about rude. That's your reply when someone brings up a good topic for discussion. These are issues that the country is facing every single day and your reply is "snort snort. The only reply your post warrants". I'm still amazed there are people in the country who don't want to deal with the issues we are facing, but prefer to ridicule those who want to discuss issues if they don't believe what they do.

Sick and tired of hearing how it's the current policies that caused all of this mess!! It's the PREVIOUS Administration's (REPUBLICAN POLICIES) that caused this mess with deregulation and out-of-control spending that caused it! There were 2 wars, Medicare, AND tax cuts for the WEALTHY not paid for or EVEN MENTIONED in his budget for 8 YEARS. So don't get me started. Read and study the facts before opening your mouth. NOW THAT'S RUDE!!
Exactomundo! The Republicans want to take - this country over the cliff. sm

Their extreme hatred of Obama is so rabid that they're willing to ruin the country over it.

Yet people on this board are still defending Republicans in general and the Tea Party in particular for what should be considered an act of treason regarding not only our country's economy but the entire world's economy.

They're not even hiding their desire to wipe out the entire middle class of this country so that the only two classes that remain are the very rich and the poor.

That should scare the heebeejeebeez out of folks. Instead, they defend it. Any person doesn't even have to be stupid to see what's going on.

This President has tried and tried to negotiate with the Republicans, but instead of negotiating, they throw tantrums, take their toys and go home like spoiled brats on a playground. I would actually enjoy watching them commit political suicide if the future of the entire world economy wasn't at risk. In my opinion, the fact that the Republicans are willing to go this far should be an act of treason.

Nobody hates Obama. That is such a cop out and you know it's not true. But when you can't argue the facts hey, lets throw out "Obama hater" or "racist". Just because you say it many times does not make it true.

What is ruining the country is the policies being set forth by the democratic congress.

Nobody want to "ruin the country". That is so juvenile. And if people do hate Obama, which I am not seeing any post at all on this site that even sounds like they hate Obama, but if someone was to hate Obama (or Bush or any other president) do you realize how ludicrous that sounds to say people want to ruin the country because they hate someone.

Nothing the republican or tea party has done even comes close to treason. Your love of Obama is blinding you from the facts. Listen to Dennis Kucinich and what he has to say. If anyone has commited treason it certainly is not the republicans or tea party. There are too many democrats and people in the black caucus who are saying otherwise. WAKE UP!

You know what is wiping out the middle class. The DEMOCRAT party. Gone are the democrats of Kennedy's time. Now we have democrats who only care about getting rich in politics. As Pelosi said to another democrat congress person that just won an election awhile back "If you were not a millionaire before you came here, you now will be one".

What should scare the heebeejeebeez out of people is the ones who have such hatred for republicans that they will defend the wrong actions who is doing it. They will gladly see the middle class wiped out as long as the democrats are the ones doing it. Yeah you're statement is correct "A person doesn't even have to be stupid to see what's going on", but I guess some are. Now that is what scares the bajeezus out of me.

Obama has never once tried to negotiate with the Republicans and you know it. The ones who are throwing tantrums are people like Wiener and other democrats. Their attitude of "my way or the highway" is what is ruining them and why so many were voted out of office. They close the doors on republicans and don't let them into the meetings that they need to be in. Thank God Boehner is in there. At least he cares enough for the people of the country to stand up for us. Something we have not had in at least 8 years since Peelousy was in there.

Your words of Republicans being treasonous is in itself treason. If you stand by and freely watch the democrats destroy the country and do nothing about it and believe it's okay as long as its a democrat doing it, is in itself an act of treason.

The Republicans in office are trying to solve the problems, get a balanced budget, and bring jobs to the country for the Americans who have been unemployed (while a democratic congress has been in office). That is not treason and shame on you for spouting such words of hatred and lies. Shame on you for supporting those destroying our country all because they belong to your political party. How dare you call politicians who are trying to help the country and the people of the country an act of treason. SHAME ON YOU!!!

Statements like your last one should be what scares the absolute **** (you can fill in the blank, begins with s- since I cannot use bad language) out of people.

My God man doesn't anyone have any decency anymore. Has it all boiled down to hatred. You should really read how the civil war began.
Wrong - Lets go over the facts - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I don't know how much plainer to make this so you will understand. First, don't tell people to research before opening their mouth when its obvious you haven't done so. That is RUDE and I don't know how much simpler I can make that. You are the one who needs to research so you won't be ill-informed. Try reading from independent sides. Not just the side you agree with. You will never get the truth if you only listen to one side. Since you don't know the facts, or if you do and are ignoring it, that's just plain wrong. I don't care how much hatred people have for Bush. The facts don't lie. But then again, sometimes its easier for people to play the victim roll and they don't know or don't want to know the facts. The last crowd of clowns wasn't even the beginning of it. It started under Bill Clinton and has been going down since him. He is the one who started off shoring jobs, giving tax cuts to the rich. Don't even get me started on "him". This bull-crap about him having a surplus is just that. If you read up on that you'll find that surplus hoax is just that - a hoax no matter how badly you love the guy and want to think it's true. There is always that little stumbling block called "facts". So you see my dear, Democrat President Bill Clinton and Democrat President Obama did and are giving tax cuts to the rich. But I guess you're okay with that, as long as a democrat does it. New war we're in without congress approval, hey that's okay for you because a democrat president did it, but you were the first to scream and shout when a republican president (Bush) started a war WITH congress approval. While Bush was no genius and a lot was wrong under his admin you do not get to give your guy a free pass. It is the CURRENT crowd, and the DEMOCRAT POLICIES (before this last election) that are CONTINUING deregulation and out-of-control spending. Have you even been awake these past 2 or 3 years? NO, Bush and his admin didn't cause it. The cause started under Clinton, Bush continued it and so is Obama. So as much as I can't stand Bush he is not to blame for all this and people need to wake up, remove their hatred for someone and look at the real figures, the actual facts, and stop blaming the political party they don't belong too.

And um...HELLOOOOOOO Tax cuts for the wealthy are happening under YOUR GUY! C'mon people. As Ripley said "Have IQs dropped sharply". STOP blaming EVERYTHING on Bush. Read the facts, not what your favorite news station tells you and then you don't even research it.

Yeah, don't get ME started. Wake up and you are the one who needs to read the facts before opening YOUR mouth!!! Your post just confirmed your last statement. Don't tell people to get the facts, when you are the one who doesn't get the fact. Once again YOUR POST IS RUDE!!!

who is smart enough to see that many politicians on both sides of the line are to blame for this current situation we find ourselves in. Thank you!! I get so tired of those blaming one side or the other. How blind can you get to not realize they are all to blame and this started before Bush was president. So refreshing to see some intelligence on this board. Thank you again!
Thanks - funny how when facts are brought out - they all go silent. sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Somehow people who never admit that they are wrong just kind of urk me a bit. Nobody is perfect and it takes a person with class to admit they are wrong. Nope, not here. You bring up facts and they go silent. Reminds me of Jack Nicholsen in that movie saying "you can't handle the truth". So true with so many democrat worshipers here. They prefer to spew the lies and hatred they reel off word for word from their propaganda stations rather than research and talk about facts.

The biggest farce is that faux surplus they keep talking about. Goes to show they don't research but just regurgitate what they are told to say. Then when you bring up the fact that Wall street and pharmaceutical companies and big business is getting rich under Obama they ignore it, as though by not talking about it it will some how magically disappear. Then they don't even acknowledge the fact that Clinton is when all this crap started. The stuff they kept screaming about under Bush...well guess what...you have Clinton to thank for that. Bush only continued what Clinton did.
Yeah, good idea. I'll start to listen to Faux News. - sm

Talk about stumbling over facts.  You think you can just dismiss this very inconvenient truth about Clinton vs W and the historical numbers that define his predecessor's policies?   Reagan tax cuts and military spending ran the deficit up to $2.85 trillion by the end of his term.  He increased the debt by a whopping 20.6% over his two terms.  HW Bush managed to tack on another astonishing 13% in just 4 years.  Clinton reduced it by 9.7% over his tenure, then W came along and broke all records by an increase of 27.8%.

A fact lover's chart dispels the hoax claims rather handily.

Suppose you come up with some citations to back up your hoax theory.  They should be right at your fingertips.

a bad situation Bush created to be worse. I understand the blame people want to place on Bush but the last 2 years of Bush's administration democrats controlled congress. Both parties have had a huge hand in this and yet many of you seem to only be able to blame one party or the other. It would be nice to see someone open their eyes and see the big picture. Bush made things really bad. Obama has made them worse.

We cannot continue to spend money we don't have. Taxing the rich more will not help in creating jobs and creating jobs will bring in more revenue than taxing the rich. Close loopholes in the tax code. That right there would bring in more revenue without raising taxes anyway. No matter how you spin this or what side of the line you are on, it is pretty simple and common sense that you cannot spend your way out of debt.

Both parties are to blame and it is as simple as that. I'm not ignoring what Bush did but I'm not ignoring what Obama is doing either. How many of you on this board can say the same? Not very many because all I hear is it is either all Bush's fault or all Obama's fault. They are both to blame as well as many other politicians and past presidents. This "debt crisis" didn't just happen out of the blue. We have been snowballing to this point for some time now but most people didn't pay attention until the economy actually started to show signs.

So what have we learned today children?

I never understood my grandmother's motto about the difference between a Republican or Democrat. I have always considered myself an Independent, too, but to see what the Republicans did during the Bush era to the economy, and to now watch what they are trying to do to Medicare and Social Security, it just makes me SICK!!! At the same time, they are protecting big oil interests and the wealthy as that is where all of their money lies. It's sickening. Only the rich or ignorant poor people support Republicans, per my grandmother. People might need to think on that one.
I'm curious as to where you would suggest the cuts be made. - Zville MT
[ In Reply To ..]
It seems that everyone agrees that cuts need to be made, until it directly affects them. I know cuts aren't going to be enough to get us out of trouble and that taxes are going to have to go up (for everyone, not just the rich).

I'm not trying to start an argument and this isn't a sarcastic post - I'm really interested in your thoughts about where you think the government can make those cuts.

have worked their fingers off. You are so blinded by the rhetoric of the dems that you cannot see what is really going on. You are falling for Obamas class warfare to hate the rich. By the way, I dont think the money of the rich belongs to me. Most wealthy people earned it. My grandmother, by the way, was a Republican, and just before she died, she said Obama and the dems were ruining this country. She had lived through the great depression and was afraid Obama was putting us into another one. Pubs are not trying to TAKE away your Medicare and SS. They are trying to save it. You just dont get it. Obama is lying to your face, and you fall for it.
Regarding most "rich" people - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
The recycled CEOs, who slither from company to company, earned nothing. They steal the assests of the corporation from the shareholders with the help of the board of directors, who turn a blind eye and pick over the carcass like buzzards.

Not many small business owners are wealthy. My mother also lived through the Great Depression and says the REPUBLICANS have done a smashing job of putting us into another one right now. They are not trying to save SS and Medicare. You just don't get it. The republicans have you where they want you. FOOLED big time. Wise before we slide even further down hill.
How do you know whether someone is rich or poor - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I guess you can consider yourself anything you want it if makes you feel better, but that statement is not someone who is independent. That is a left wing lie that keeps being spewed that if you vote for a republican you are rich. Here's some news for ya....most of my family is unemployed (thanks to Obama and the democrats that are supposed to be representing them, but instead are only interested in lining their pockets). Most of my family is on food stamps and welfare. They learned their lesson the hard way and are voting and consider themselves republican. They say we are fiscally responsible and their values and hopes for their future they feel the democrats do nothing for them and they have proven this time and time again.

I don't consider myself any political party. I will listen to a candidate and if I like them I vote for them. In my life time I've voted for Carter, Regan, Clinton (once was enough), Bush (once was enough) and last time I did not vote because I didn't like either. I've learned that you don't toe the party line and go along with everything they say because you like the party.

Clinton years were the worst. I and my family never fell on such hard time. My brother, sister, and sister-in-law lost their houses, no work (jobs off shored by Clinton), etc, etc. DH and I could only afford a small 1 bedroom, no credit cards, no new car, no wardrobe, furs or jewels, higher taxes, no savings, higher taxes, couldn't afford a vacation (including a weekend at a nearby hotel), higher taxes, indebted to the IRS for years, oh yeah, and did I say higher taxes. 8 years of living in poverty while 2 of us working full time struggling. Bush was elected and we finally had breathing room, as did my family. No, things were not great, but we and a lot of my family and friends did better. We finally were able to live like we were worth something. Finally had a savings, finally got taxes down, finally had some breathing room, finally moved to renting a house. Overall we all did better. And now look at where we all are. Worse off than Bush.

What I am sick of is people buying and spewing the party line that Republicans are trying to destroy Medicare and Social Security when the fact are during the Clinton's years is when it got bad. The lies and brainwashing the liberals put out is sickening, and the people that actually believe that load of rubbish is what makes me SICK!!! And your snide little remark about the rich or ignorant people supporting republicans...well that goes to prove you are no independent. Your grandmother would do well to keep her comments to herself and you to not repeat them as we all know that is what you are thinking or you wouldn't have repeated.

What also makes me sick is the absolute hatred and vile remarks people feel they feel they can make towards anyone not a democrat all because their god is in the throne and if anyone disagrees with an issue they'll just call them racist. And your grandmother called people who support republicans ignorant??? That's rich.
All the same - Sandy

[ In Reply To ..]
I guess it's easier for people to hate people in the other party. For some reason people (or more correctly ignorant people who won't do any researching for themselves) actually believe the azzenine idea that Republicans don't care about the middle class, they are going to steal all your money, let the elder die and not give them healthcare and take their social security and just let them starve naked in the streets freezing to death. And sadder that some people actually believe that. It still amazes me to this day to read posts on this board actually saying the Republicans don't care about the middle class and only rich, blah, blah, blah. Politics has just really gotten ugly over the past 20 years or so.

I vote on an individual based on his/her experience and what they have done in their political field. It they are good and a democrat I vote for them, if they are good and a republican I vote for them.

Very good observation about Capital Hill.
