Going Rogue on Facts

Posted: Nov 18, 2009

Here are a couple, much more see link.

PALIN: Says she made frugality a point when traveling on state business as Alaska governor, asking "only" for reasonably priced rooms and not "often" going for the "high-end, robe-and-slippers" hotels.

THE FACTS: Although travel records indicate she usually opted for less-pricey hotels while governor, Palin and daughter Bristol stayed five days and four nights at the $707.29-per-night Essex House luxury hotel (robes and slippers come standard) overlooking New York City's Central Park for a five-hour women's leadership conference in October 2007. With air fare, the cost to Alaska was well over $3,000. Event organizers said Palin asked if she could bring her daughter. The governor billed her state more than $20,000 for her children's travel, including to events where they had not been invited, and in some cases later amended expense reports to specify that they had been on official business.

PALIN: Describing her resistance to federal stimulus money, Palin describes Alaska as a practical, libertarian haven of independent Americans who don't want "help" from government busybodies.

THE FACTS: Alaska is also one of the states most dependent on federal subsidies, receiving much more assistance from Washington than it pays in federal taxes. A study for the nonpartisan Tax Foundation found that in 2005, the state received $1.84 for every dollar it sent to Washington.

Please make her go away. It's like a recurring nightmare. I have read that about 20 "facts" in her book were in error. Where was her editor? I'm sure personally she is a lovely person - but I don't feel she should be in residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Neither should Obama, he should go to one of the other countries.. - he loves so much!! nm

and you will likely soon discover that now that you have established yourself as someone who does not agree with them, all they have to see is your name on the post. Watch out! It is full-frontal, nasty, name-calling attack.

I just laugh to myself now and rarely read the posts of certain people. You will quickly discover who this/they is/are.
You don't really believe that do you? - just me
[ In Reply To ..]
Is it really that delusional in "your world". Your group comes on and makes outlandish statements, attacks people, and then just so happens to write in your posts "okay now I'll be attacked because of my name". Do you really believe that? Really? I'll tell you both sides attack each other. One side is not free from blame. The lefts and the rights are attacking each other. I've seen you go after conservatives not on issues but mocking them because of what they believe and vice versa. Maybe denial works for you, but the rest of us just sit and shake our heads. Its not your moniker its the content of the material.

We don't go after posters because they have a difference of opinion or agree with us. As conservatives and independents we encourage and enjoy discussions. Having a difference of opinion is what makes America great. And having the freedom to have difference of opinions and discussions is what is great about America, but I'm seeing it less and less on your side. There is a group of you that just love to go after posters and not for the content of the post, ridiculing and cutting down anyone who is a conservative. And whenever a conservative/independent posts something I always say to myself that nasty messages will soon show up mocking the poster from you and your group and sure enough within the hour I see posts bashing the poster.

"Full-frontal, nasty, name-calling attack". Just look in the mirror because your group is doing it too.

Yeah, I just laugh to myself too and rarely read posts of certain people also. I learned a long time ago who they are. Posts like this though is just rubbish, therefore I replied.

I dug through the rubbish a bit, the post above attacking Colleen. Oh, you will say, but it's not an attack, it's my opinion! It's not personal, although I'm talking about one person! It's my opinion! And she did it first! Neener neener!

It's a load of bull pucky translated below:
Here's an issue. It stands there, lonely and on it's own.
Here's an opinion on that issue. Read it but don't comment on it!

There's one thing you can count on:
If the Left really hates someone, there's a good reason and it's because they're revealing the truth. The more they hate the person, the more they're mentioned.

The Left's Hate List:
Beck
Limbaugh
Palin
Hannity
Fox News

The more that person is mentioned, the more they're bugging the left.

I dont hate any of those mentioned. I do clearly see that they are untruthful and knowingly so. Hate is an emotion. As a proud American, I know the country is best served by clear thinking rather than emotion. The ones mentioned are nearly daily disseminating false information. That is the only reason they are mentioned frequently. They are way too ordinary and inauthentic to inspire an emotional reaction.

I have learned over the years that the left does hate the truth, and they really hate the public knowing the truth. In fact they hate is so much they attack anyone not in their "club" for no good reason. They are oblivious to the truth and they don't care. As long as someone takes care of them. They would rather not succeed themselves, but rather have someone take care of them.

You have to ask yourself why do they hat and attack conservatives and independents. It's never for anything of substance, just personal attacks, and they can never provide an answer to the questions posed to them.

Palin has to be #1 on the list for attacks. The only reason I can see is because she doesn't believe in the destruction of the country. She believes in the building of the country, independence and freedom for all citizens. Have you noticed they don't criticize her for her policies, it's all personal (she talks funny, she wears designer glasses, she had a baby and didn't abort him, etc, etc). #2 on the list of course is Beck. They won't watch Beck but they will attack. Well actually the WH does watch Beck because they always reply to things he says on his show. But again the attacks are why? Because he is bringing out the truth. He's telling people exactly what we should be knowing...the truth.

Anytime anyone tries to bring the truth to the American people, who believes in the founding fathers and what they fought and died for. The constitution and why it was written, etc, the left is always there to "personally" attack, claim it's a lie, but never has facts to back up their claims.

If they think the country is going to sit by and watch it be destroyed by theirs truly????? Well I just think they are in for a rude awakening.

On my last note, have you ever noticed that the only people who keep hoping Sarah runs for president is the lefts. The conservatives and independents don't bash her, but we also don't think she is ready for the white house and there are more qualified people for the position, but the lefts always start in with comments about how they hope she runs. All I say is the conservative and independents hope Obama runs again, as it will guarantee their loss.

I just feel bad for the next president as the destruction that is being created is so great people are unsure if it will ever be able to be repaired. It's going to take a lot of work...that's for sure.
Snort! This is really quite amusing . . . . - emanon
[ In Reply To ..]
We don't attack SP on her policies, BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T HAVE ANY!! The truth? To steal a phrase: "You can't handle the truth."

You're lauding a person who "barely" wrote a book filled with nothing but whining and lies. That's the truth. SP and her "death panels". Please tell me you were not one of the gullible, brainless dolts to believe that one!?
ahhhh....nothing less than expected. - Thx for not disappointing
[ In Reply To ..]
Try you have never listened to her, therefore you do not know what her policies were or are or what she did or did not do in her role as Governor. Or what she even says in any of her speeches now. You just continue to listen to the hate mongerers at MSNBC I see.

Awwwww...you didn't like that she wrote a book. More than I can say Obobo did.

As for some things that are not true in it, well that can be said for your beloved Obobos book too, and many other books.

P.S. - In case you haven't heard....death panels are still in the bill - they are just calling it something different. But then again I wouldn't expect that you have read the bill either.

So much anger here....you really should pick up a hobby. To steal a phrase -
"Don't worry, be happy".
Like I said -- quite amusing . . . . - emanon
[ In Reply To ..]
Babydoll, you're obviously the one with anger issues. For the record, I have listened to every interview, and just about every hate-filled speech that she made during the election, so don't presume to think that I haven't gotten her figured out. She's nothing but a fear-mongering, blithering, media-lovin' wack job -- you betcha'!

God help you if you are in the medical field, and condone this "death panel" talk as truth. Those of us that have been in the medical field for a long time, know that's basically what the "Advanced Directives"and DNRs are all about -- making those tough decisions beforehand so your loved ones will not!

Another thing, I could care less if she writes 50 books -- they should be filed in the "fiction" section of the library. I am sure she has enough whining in her to "write" at least 50 books!!

BTW -- can you name any of her "policies"?
Correct.. just look around here. The left is so nasty - with no substance.. just juvenile.nm

FACT CHECK: Palin's Book Goes Rogue On Some Facts.Nov 13, 2009
Sarah Palin's new book reprises familiar claims from the 2008 presidential campaign that haven't become any truer over time. Ignoring substantial parts of her record if not the facts, she depicts herself as a frugal traveler on the taxpayer's dime, a reformer without ties to powerful interests and a politician roguishly indifferent to high ambition. Palin goes adrift, at times, on more contemporary issues, too. She criticizes President Barack Obama for pushing through a bailout ...
