Do you think there will be a government shut down? If your answer is no, please explain why. If your answer is yes, tell who you think will be to blame and why.
Just trying to get a feel for what the REAL middle America (working class like you and me) is thinking about this issue.
I'll start. I don't think there will be a shut down because an agreement will be reached on the budget. Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans, despite all thier tough talk, will want to take the chance that they will get blamed for it and will therefore quietly compromise on the budget for the rest of this year. As for the budget for next year, that's where the fighting will begin!
;So, the "extreme" Tea Party shuts down the government. Is the catch-phrase/word still "extreme" or have the orders changed? Anyway, the Tea Party shuts down the government and then Howard Dean will be cheering in the background. Great. He should be ashamed of himself for playing politics with the VERY serious topic of federal spending and the deficit. Someone needs to tell these guys/gals to put their egos aside and that this is NOT a game anymore. I originally thought that they had a wake-up call in November, but I guess I was wrong.
It was Schumer earlier this week and now Dean. These guys continually expose themselves for who they are.
Howard Dean says he'd be "quietly rooting for" a government shutdown if he still had his old job as leader of the Democratic Party.
"If I was head of DNC, I would be quietly rooting for it," Dean told an audience hosted by National Journal in Washington this morning. "I know who's going to get blamed - we've been down this road before."
