I have mixed feelings on Trump. I like what he is saying in interviews; however, he has totally flip-flopped on many issues. His bankruptcies also bother me...as they should anyone. The whole "birther" thing.....here is my opinion...and please no childish name calling...this is my opinion and I'm entitled to it.....if Obama has nothing to hide, why is he spending so much money to keep his long form and college information hidden? People don't do that unless they have something to hide. Obama is also NOT the first person to have their natural born citizenship questioned.
Just look up natural born citizen in wikipedia and you can see a list of people whose natural born citizenship was questioned.
One I found of interest was this: "The eligibility of Charles Evans Hughes (1862–1948) was questioned in an article written by Breckinridge Long, and published in the Chicago Legal News during the U.S. presidential election of 1916, in which Hughes was narrowly defeated by Woodrow Wilson. Long claimed that Hughes was ineligible because his father had not yet naturalized at the time of his birth and was still a British citizen. Observing that Hughes, although born in the United States, was also a British subject and therefore "enjoyed a dual nationality and owed a double allegiance", Long argued that a native born citizen was not natural born without a unity of U.S. citizenship and allegiance and stated: "Now if, by any possible construction, a person at the instant of birth, and for any period of time thereafter, owes, or may owe, allegiance to any sovereign but the United States, he is not a 'natural-born' citizen of the United States.""
So I guess the question to ask as well is this....did our president ever have a dual citizenship? He did reside with his mother and stepfather outside of the US for some time. If he indeed had a dual citizenship, he is not eligible to be our president either regardless of whether or not he was or wasn't born in the US.
Back to Trump....he is an attention whore and he is charismatic and he is getting some people to listen to him. However, he never really ends up running in the end and he has flip-flopped on so many issues.....not to mention the bankruptcies......I just don't feel comfortable with him.
I am truly discouraged as I have yet to find any potential candidate I feel comfortable voting for. Just once I wish I could vote for a politician I truly believe in and not just voting for the lesser of 2 evils.
