I assume you are all happy with what your little darlings are learning in school. This is not just in Texas, but all over the country, so if they're getting all A's, this is not necessarily a good thing (disclaimer - if you're a progressive, you probably think it is).

Contrary to the article posted by the OP, CSCOPE had nothing to do with the quiz. The company that did make the video and accompanying quiz provided a statement and apologized in writing the same day for any misconceptions. In fact, the video was generated to convey a patriotic message, explaining the events of 911 and why we memorialize it.

Frankly, it's a factual answer as it stands. I see nothing wrong with it. Did this country do things that other countries perceive as negative? Yes. Simple enough.
I'm more worried about the parents who brainwash their children into thinking this country is loved the world 'round by every other country out there.

You see, we'd kept those soldiers there ever since the First Gulf War as a general threat to anyone who tried to cross us--or didn't (the Neocon's plan for "preemptive" war), and the people of Egypt had long become very angry with this foreign military presence in their sovereign country (ask yourself how you'd feel). This hostility finally built to the point that we finally HAD to remove them.
But, where to put them? We wanted to keep a military fist in the Middle East. Problem was, no other country could be begged, bribed, or threatened into taking them.
Iraq! Impoverished, partitioned (by us), embargoed (by us), weak Iraq. Invade Iraq, and we could move our forces over there AND force Iraq to sell us its oil, which it had refused to do since the 1970s. And the rest is disgraceful history
Now, gee. What on earth could there have been in that to make the entire planet despise and fear us for it? Oh, oh, oh! Forgot to mention how our president referred to this invasion as a Crusade. How's THAT for a 500-kiloton cherry on top of everything?
