Moms - if your child went missing and you did not report it

What could anybody's motive be for not reporting a child missing for 31 days and when the child is reported missing it is by a relative. Is not reporting a missing child a criminal act in your state?

and sign the petition for Caylee's law. It would make it a crime to not report your child missing. If this were a law already, Casey would have at least been found guilty of that!

Normal people report a missing child. Why should there have to be yet more laws and more government involvement in our lives?? If you let your kid go for a court-ordered weekend visit to his dad's house and the dad runs off with the kid and you don't realize it right away and wait a few extra hours for them to get home, would you be charged with not reporting your kid missing? Once you set a precedent with allowing government involvement, you've lost yet another right.

Having this be a federal crime (not reporting a child missing) would NOT have changed anything Casey Anthony did or did not do; however, if this WAS a federal offense, she would surely have been found guilty and sentenced to the maximum (no doubt). THAT'S why this should be a law... so that the crazy people who do this (even though the number may be few) will have to pay for it

Didn't follow the case as closely as most people did, but she does fit the profile of a seriously abused child. When I worked as a homeless advocate, I saw people like her all the time. Low life skills, big-time liars, drug abusers, sociopaths. Some guy was interviewed on some show and he said it was very clear after interacting even a very short time with her that she is mentally ill. Unfortunately, the prosecution couldn't even prove the poor child was murdered. It really could have been any of the family members.

I'm betting the psychopathic liar killed her child - Don't see motive for anyone else.

A sociopathic personality has no conscience. She could clearly kill the child and go out to rent a movie with her boyfriend that afternoon. She could clearly go shopping for new clothes at Target with someone else's money. It didn't phase her and no matter what Casey version you believe, she knew the child was dead.

I think the medical examiner explained very well why it was a murder.

1. The child was not reported missing. (That was Casey's choice).
2. The body was hidden.
3. There was duct tape over the mouth.

Don't get me wrong, I think the whole family stinks but the only sociopathic behavior I see is Casey. It is frightening to me that there are cold-hearted people out there. It is also frightening that there are people willing to get her out of an obvious murder charge like Jose Biaz did.

As far as the jurors who found her not guilty, I really don't think they weighed the evidence sufficiently or there is no way they could have let her go.
