Is it possible to ship a pie to Qatar?  My son-in-law is stationed there and is wanting to know if I could send him a pecan pie.  I have searched various websites online and there are mixed reviews.  Any advice, input, ideas, etc., would be greatly appreciated!!!

I am sure it is possible... - Kendra

I just don't know how good it will be when it gets there. When I send things to my husband, sometimes my packages get there quickly and sometimes they don't. I sent one package that made it to Africa in 7 days, but I sent another that took over three months to get there, so his homemade cookies were not good at all. You can certainly try and hope that it gets there alright! I am sure that he would appreciate it either way. :)

On the food channel the other day there was a pecan farm and they ship their goodies! Stahman's Farm. Check out their web site.

I'd like to say, that from personal experience, they are delicious pies! We get them for our holidays.

Blessed Thanksgiving and please thank your son! (I'm a military mom too)

Need Any Advice From Military Parents/spouses Please ... (sm)Sep 20, 2010
My daughter's husband of four months is being deployed next month to Afghanistan for a year, he actually left out this morning for military duty for the next month.  She has great family support, has moved back home with us until he returns next year but I think that I am looking for any advice on how to possibly help her get through this from others that have been through it, actually not just her but for him as well.  I have never been through anything like this and again, just ...

Are Chinese Moms Really Better Than Other Moms?Jan 24, 2011
Can you say you've not allowed your children to do the same things this mom did? ~snippet only - lots of more info at the link http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...p_mostpop_read A lot of people wonder how Chinese parents raise such stereotypically successful kids. They wonder what these parents do to produce so many math whizzes and music prodigies, what it's like inside the family, and whether they could do it too. Well, I can tell them, because I've done it. Here are s ...

Sister WivesOct 07, 2010
Has anyone watched that new show on TLC, Sister Wives?  I had stated I would never watch something like that, but then were talking about it on the news in the middle of the night one night and I was curious.  I have watched the first two weeks and just don't get it.  My husband is going to watch it with me because I asked him to, as I want a male point of view of the show.  I am sure he will think it is crazy, but I am curious.  I just do not understand how you can ...

On Bin Laden's Wives, What Should Happen To Them?May 07, 2011
These women had no say in where they were or who they were with, did they? I think I read that the youngest wife was 'gifted' to him. I hope they are treated well. I also hope they give out some good information, if they know anything. Also, what appeared to be his will admonished his wives not to remarry. So he wants to control them even in death. Good luck with that! ...

Anyone Watch Army Wives?Mar 27, 2011
I can not believe how sad tonight's episode was!  I have watched shows and say that is really sad, but I actually had tears running down my face tonight.  I have two sons, both ready to turn 18 and 21 in May.  I can not even image what it would be like to lose one of them.  Thank God both are safe and at home.  My heart goes out to all that have loved one in the Service and especially those who have lost ones in the Service.  It is so sad that this world has to ...

Unemployed Men Are More Likely To Abuse Their WivesFeb 23, 2010
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pushed for a $15 billion jobs bill Monday by suggesting that unemployed men are more likely to abuse their wives. “Men when they're out of work tend to become abusive,” Reid said as he argued in favor of a cloture vote on the jobs bill. “I met with some people while I was home dealing with domestic abuse. It has gotten out of hand. Why? Men don't have jobs. Women don't have jobs either, but women aren’t abusive, most of the ...

Anyone Watch Basketball Wives?May 08, 2012
I used to watch Tami on the MTV series Real World, and she has not changed, but gotten even worse. She is incredibly mean and scary and I was worried for Kesha when they were having that "talk." Tami is extremely violent, delusional, paranoid and needs to be on medications in addition to her therapy. She does not need to get physical nor lash out at people like that. She just sees blood with Kesha and I do not understand that mentality. She has glued herself to Evelyn, who has no class eith ...

Single Moms???Sep 06, 2011
I'm not sure it's really a "problem" - more brainstorming and like to hear how others do it.  You might remember this past spring that I found out my husband was cheating on me so we got divorced which was final within 8 weeks.  Within 2 weeks after that, the ex moved 1700 miles away.  He's been back to our state (his whole family lives in my town) once in the last 4 months and that was for 4 days to get married.  When he got into town he picked up our son ...

Moms ChangingSep 17, 2012
Has anyone experienced this with their mom?  She remarried a year and a half ago, and she is a different person.  She quit going to church, she dyed her hair, lost weight, doesn't want friends just him, tans now, acts younger.  He is a greedy, stingy person and now she is too and she was NEVER stingy.  She acts like she is better than other people now.  She gets an attitude when she was never like that especially with me.  She is basically someone I don't ...

Work At Home Moms?Mar 16, 2010
I'm a stay-at-home mom of a 5 year old and 2 1/2 year old and will be finishing my transcription course in the next couple of weeks.  I'm hoping any other transcription moms with young ones at home could give me tips on working and maintaining as much sanity with the kids as possible....when I first decided to head down the MT route, I thought it would be a great option for working and staying home with the kids at the same time, but now I am VERY concerned about being able to pro ...

Moms Of Married Grown KidsJul 14, 2014
I am the mother of grown kids. My son is married x11 years, has a 6 year old. He and his wife are having problems because her caught her cheating. They are trying to work through it, but he was a preteen when my own marriage fell apart due to my ex's repeated cheating. Since this is his wife's second time cheating, he feels that they are done and is just trying to be civil until their situations get settled (separate living places, custory, finances and all that stuff...). Question For Single Moms/divorced Women Out ThereJul 27, 2011
Hey Everyone out there.  Got a question for single moms/divorced women out there.  I am needing to kick the hubby to the curb.  Ever since he turned 30, my husband has decided that he is 18-21 again......drinking, going out all night to the bars, being hung over the next day, just being a loser.  I'm sick of it, I'm done with it, I don't even love him anymore, so how do I get out and make a clean break when there are children involved?  They are young (5 a ...

The GOP Vs The MilitaryFeb 03, 2010
Interesting indeed! From Andrew Sullivan's blog:02 Feb 2010 07:22 pmThe GOP vs The MilitarySteve Benen makes an interesting point: Obama has spent a year following the guidance of military leaders, and Republicans have spent a year breaking with the judgment of the military establishment. It's a fascinating dynamic. On everything from civilian trials to Gitmo to torture, we have two distinct groups -- GOP leaders, the Cheneys, Limbaugh, and conservative activists on one side; President ...

Military BurielDec 02, 2009
I don't know for sure but given the fact that I was married to a military man for 9 of our 18 years, it all sounds llike crapola to me, all coming from her.  The Red Cross may be able to help.  They were our liason when we needed to contact one of our guys out to sea on a submarine.  We were generally not allowed to know where they were at any given time and were out of contact with our husbands for sometimes 100 or more days at a time, so we used them as the go-between.&nbs ...

Need Military Burial InformationDec 02, 2009
My husband's father was in the military and served in VietNam 3 times.  He just passed right after divorcing his wife.  His wife now says that in between hospitalizations she took him to the JP and they re-married and he changed his will (8 days after he made the will after the divorce).  Now that is enough to grasp but here is the clincher.  She is telling the family that the military won't bury him for 8 days (because they are so busy) and after the 1 hour viewing ...

Muslims And Gays In The MilitaryFeb 03, 2010
OK, somebody has to say it. It’s uncomfortable and it makes whoever says it open to being called a “Pharisee,” a “homophobe,” a “bigot,” a sanctimonious hater, a benighted troglodyte, or worse. Somebody has to endure that, though. We need to act like grown up, secure people who can talk about difficult things and resolve them. So, to quote one of my favorites, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, “Call me a relic, call me what you will. Say I&rsq ...
