Gay Discrimination Legislation in a Republican

Posted: Feb 27, 2014

Will the Republican Right win the anti-gay battles in Missouri, Kansas, Ohio, Mississippi, Idaho, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Oklahoma? We know that is what the Republicans really want, or will it crumble from the pressure of Big Business or the bean/vote counters? A Missouri state senator on Monday introduced legislation like Arizona’s that could provide cover for businesses to deny service to same-sex couples. In Georgia, two versions of a similar bill in the state House and Senate are moving quickly through the Legislature. In Kansas, a similar bill already passed Republican-led House earlier this month. Other states considering legislation like Arizona’s include Ohio, Mississippi, Idaho, South Dakota, Tennessee and Oklahoma, according to The Associated Press. Senate Approves Iran Review LegislationMay 07, 2015
See what happens when the Republicans are in Charge. Things get done. Senate approves Iran review legislation by large margin The Senate gave overwhelming approval Thursday to legislation establishing a congressional review for a proposed nuclear deal with Iran, as Republican leaders set aside efforts from their own rank and file to amend the carefully-crafted bipartisan compromise. On a 98-1 vote, the Senate lent a bipartisan boost to legislation — likely to be approved next week b ...

The only thing she did was dress differently.  She did not speak, she did not do anything that was forbidden.  I cannot understand why anyone would support a man who allows this sort of discrimination at a campaign event for the office of President of the United States.  She was interviewed later and recounted some of the things the Trump supporters said to her.  Obviously, they have little to no experience with anyone who does not look just like them and have the ...

Is Discrimination In Our Public Schools Acceptable?Feb 21, 2014
I am appalled that in 2014 this question even is asked.  Apparently there are those that do not think the government should be involved in matters of discrimination.  If not the federal government, then who?  Anti-discriminaton is a federal law and needs to be enforced just like any other law.  Below on this board there is a post regarding an article of outrage because the Departments of Justice and Education sent out a letter to schools regarding discriminatory punishm ...

What's more, they've decided to outline their case to the public through a set of talking points issued to Democrats after Tuesday's election upset in Massachusetts. Their meme? The Republican StrategyFeb 19, 2010
It takes awhile to make sense of the entrails of the Republican Party, partly because they are just so toxic, but also because it's actually difficult to comprehend that an American political party can so deliberately sabotage its own government and nation. But after observing their behavior and their policy of, "Just Say No" -- sometimes to their own suggestions, one can only surmise that they long ago left the business of governing and have instead agreed to a covert game plan of destruc ...

Romney certainly has a lot of that sharp and scintillating legendary Republican sense of humor. Here is the very funny story Romney told today in Wisconsin.
