I guess liberals don't know when someone is joking or what? I don't want to pay for anybody's contraceptives. How about self-control? If you listened to Rush you would know that he just wants people to be responsible for themselves and not let the government in to take away more freedom!

I don't want to pay for that, either. If we let the govt pay for everything, then there are strings attached and before you know it, they are controlling when and what you can take. It's not about paying for contraceptives and enhancement drugs, it is about handing them our freedom. It is so obvious what's going on.
This will be considered a moot - point, but just MHO
[ In Reply To ..]
The bill is not trying to force contraception on anyone. It is simply trying to get employers to not deny women coverage for basic services that even folks on welfare qualify for. That said, I hate to inform you of this but your tax dollars pay for abortions (if Mom is on welfare), and hell yes, I'd much rather pay for contraception than generations spawning and feeding off my tax dollars. Thing is, churches are already tax exempt, so this shouldn't even be an issue!

Tired of banging my head against a wall. Will go say 3 Hail Marys now.
Obama made it an issue - by violating constitution
[ In Reply To ..]
Would be a lot more credible post if it was actually based on what Obamacare forces upon all religions. Women are not denied now based on their own comments that 98% are using/have used BC. They weren't going to Mexico to get them. BTW, read the threads below where a poster called PP and listed the facts regarding availability and the actual cost (between 22-cents and 1.00 a day depending on choice of BC without assistance), AND the fact that PP has financial assistance (meaning we are being screwed either way). Then go say your 3 Hail Mary's..."tired of banging my head against a wall" because of posters that post no facts, just assumptions.

I've got a bridge, or perhaps some nice swampland you might be interested in.

Get real. Defunding Planned Parenthood, legislation mandating ultrasounds of ANY desription under active consideration in 7 states, and calling women sluts and prostitutes for advocating women's health are all republiCON social engineering/war-on-women initiatives masquerading as 1st amendment issues. Allowing bosses to "opt out" of insurance coverage for BC while covering Viagra and vasectomies on so-called "moral grounds" is a slippery slope that opens a pandora's box, designed to set legal precedents that could potentially undermine many provisions under health care reform.

Take for example the Jehovah's Witness boss who decides he won't cover blood transfusions. Employees with hemophiliac children need not apply. How about excluding treatment for STDs? Should we stand idly by and allow men to receive this coverage (boys will be boys) while women are denied (sluts will be sluts)? While we're at it, let's give the green light to eliminating treatment for any alcohol- or drug-related medical conditions such as cirrhosis or hep C. HIV? Out of luck. Some bosses think obesity is indicative of a character flaw, or a sign of sloth and laziness. Gee, we could save substantial bucks by refusing to cover diabetes if we can find some way to object to it on moral grounds. Shoot, why not just go back to the good ole days when the mentally ill were locked away in asylums and used as guinea pigs in drug research trials against their will instead of covering medications that allow them to lead functional productive lives?

We will, however, cover the cost of boot straps for those who are willing to pull themselves up by them and pray away their pathologies.......

You feel that is the government taking away your freedom? Why does it matter to you? How long has this mattered to you? Why do you want to place hardships on women who can't afford contraceptives on their own? They are trying to avoid an unwanted pregnancy, or even taking contraceptives for other health issues. Why would you want to do that?

Know how lazy 99% of the posters on this board are. PP has birth control ranging for 22-cents to $1.00 a day. If woman CANNOT AFFORD THAT, PP has financial assistance programs paid for by our tax dollars including abortions. Save the blahblah about money being separated for abortions; it is NOT.

Let everybody take care of their own birth control, no matter what they prefer. And yeah, like one poster said, if someone can afford big screen TVs, eating out lunch and/or dinner frequently, vacations, new cars, credit cards, store charges...keep your hands out of my wallet. You are NOT poor. Set your priorities straight; if getting pregnant is not one of them, delay a vacation by a few weeks. At 22-cents a day, should not take you long to save. Birth control yearly cost $80.03 to $365.00 total (cost of big screen TVs depending on size $1200 to $4500 - enough birth control for 4 to 10 years for God's sake!) GROW UP AND BE RESPONSIBLE.

Government/Freedom - Kathleen Sebelius CAUGHT
[ In Reply To ..]
Good old Kathleen, a long-time supporter of killing babies at any stage, got caught during Congressional hearings regarding the TRUE reason for BCP coverage, abortions, etc. She admitted it was not for women's health, but STRICTLY TO LIMIT BIRTH OF CHILDREN, merely for the sake of saving money. If you people still don't get it after that comment, I really feel sorry for you. She admitted that healthcare was not the issue, but goverment being able to/and wanting to control birth. Can anyone say CHINA?

Saddest part of all, even with her finally admitting government wants to determine the birth rate now, people will still support Obamacare because they do not get it or understand how it impacts our rights under the Constitution (or maybe just too lazy). They will continue to buy into the Dems/libs/progs talking points and do the dirty work for Kathleen. Lovely Kathleen is/was a very strong supporter of the founder of PP - Check out that woman's biography. Very, very scary women (both found of PP and Kathleen).

I saw him say it. Women like Ms. Fluke - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
The video has been all over the news today.

Ms. Fluke was the woman who wasn't permitted to speak when the Republicans had their hearing with an all-male panel.

Had she been allowed to speak, she would have relayed a situation experienced by a friend of hers who NEEDED to use "the pill" because of polycystic ovary syndrome, NOT for the spurious reasons Limbaugh belted out.

He called her a slut and agreed to pay for ALL the aspirin to put between their knees needed by women of Georgetown University (the location is where Ms. Fluke is). The only condition would be that those people who do use birth control: Rush said they must videotape having sex and show it for all to see.

I wonder of Rush ever married a virgin along his long line of marriages.

Although I'm disgusted by what he said (and with him, in general), I very much want him to continue to be the spokesperson for the Republican party, as he's an excellent spokesperson.

How about telling the whole story/truth - what if

[ In Reply To ..]
By reading your post I knew I had to do some research as I couldn't trust what was said.

I'm not a Rush fan. Don't listen to his show, but I thought if he stood up and said to someone "your a slut" that would be pretty bad. So....I did a bit of searching. One website said he called her a whore, another one a slut, another one this and that. So I pulled up some website with a media matters clip of what he said.

Maybe you might want to at least quote something fully. This is what was said.

"Who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex. What does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? Makes her a prostitute. She wants to get paid to have sex."

Now, I don't know about you but here in our neck of the woods someone who wants to get paid for sex is a prostitute (which there are other names for it). So essentially what he is saying is true.

Yes, I know you are disgusted with him. Could tell that right from the start, but no matter how much anyone hates a person they should at least tell the truth/whole story.

If you wonder if Rush married a virgin maybe you should call him up and ask him.

Funny how the libs always claim they want someone they don't like to be the spokesperson. As though its an insult or some kind of inside joke. But what they fail to understand is this. A lot of people listen to Rush and like him and agree with him. He's not afraid to speak the truth and he doesn't care whether or not someone likes it. If I was a lib I wouldn't be too worried with the republicans as there is too much to worry about with the current crowd in there. But then again when they are in a panic cos of what's been going on the past 3 years and the chances of getting the boot are pretty good I guess they do have to attack anyone who is a republican and pick at every word said. Too bad they can't even get it straight though.

And yes, I DO think Rush is an excellent spokesperson and hope to hear more of him. He tells the truth and that is what is really eating at the libs. What was that Moniker's name here?....

[ In Reply To ..]
Since when is insurance coverage for birth control pills equivalent being paid to have sex? On the Rush-says-it-so-it-must-be-true planet? By that logic, we're not just paying men who use Viagra to have sex, we are paying for their erections to boot. If that's OK by you, wouldn't preventing unplanned pregnancies that result from our enabling men to have sex (and procreate in the meantime) be the RESPONSIBLE thing to do? Your scenario has women charged with "controlling" themselves while Viagra crazed men run amok looking for a place to make their next deposit. Absurd.
Your post was more of a visual than I wanted - what if - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Look, if you are going to talk about insurance, viagra, sex, and erections that would be a different subject matter than what I replied to.

My reply was simply to point out that the poster purposely did not state the whole statement. They just took one line and ran with it. I know where they learned to do that - MSNBC because that's exactly what they'll do. They don't tell the whole truth.

My point, which you obviously missed is that RL said this lady wanted to get paid to have sex. He didn't just out of the blue say, hey there's this lady named --- and she's a slut.

How about the whole story.

Here's my opinion. I don't know whether I think insurance companies should pay for BC. I've never used it in my life so I have no idea what it cost. However, with that said they should not get it for free, and if you are going to give some people it at a lower cost then everyone should get it at a lower cost.

And on the snotty "Rush-says-it-so-it-must-be-true planet" line, I have two words I'd like to say but can't. I'll tell you this though. I don't listen to him. I don't even know when he comes on. The only time I ever hear about anything he says is here on this board when all the liberals are going into vapor lock because of something he said. I used to listen to him I think around 1990 or so. Then I started disagreeing with a lot of what he said so I just tuned him out and didn't think anything more of him.

I feel that if people want to prevent an unplanned pregnancy then everything should be done to help them. If it means that they receive free birth control then fine. But if they can afford it they should pay for it.

Oh yeah, BTW, you have no idea who I am and what I am for or against. You summised all that because I wrote the complete statement of what Rush said? You've got to be joking. Well you know what they say about people who assume. I really have no "scenario" except to tell the whole truth about what people say. Provide the full transcript, not just one sentence out of context.

He did NOT tell the truth, and the woman who was refused her right to speak at the hearing (held before MEN) wanted to tell the story of a friend of hers who needed the pill for MEDICAL reasons -- NOT for sex! I guess you left out that little ditty, no?

Had she been treated with grace and dignity and allowed to speak, you might know that (or you might go on ignoring it).

Sick and tired of all the nasty comments and for what...cos people can't stand RL, so lets take one part of a sentence and run with that.

I will have to research for myself whether or not the lady was refused her right to speak. Since all the hatred towards RL I cannot trust that is is correct and I need to find it out for myself (and from an independent source).

I wrote here before as a response to one of the messages that they need to tell the whole story (i.e. the whole transcript). They are still not doing that. What is so hard for people to be able to grasp that idea. Stop following MSNBCs lead by only putting out part of a transcript (the part that people thinks makes someone look bad). Tell the whole story, not just the sentence they want to.

I will research the story myself. The rest of all these attacks are just a bunch of BS. But then again that is what this boards has become lately. It's disturbing to know there are so many hateful people on the planet, but guess that's life.

All of you need to get a grip. Worry bout your own party and the bad within it. Election time will come soon enough and I can't wait for it to be over.

The courts tend to take that sort of thing VERY seriously. Fortunately for Slush, Ms. Fluke does not appear to have a litigious bone in her body, though I do hope she gives serious consideration to launching a big fat law suit against the big fat gas bag.

I'd suggest you direct that why on earth would you take him seriously question to Ms. Fluke. She's the only one who can give you an answer that just might help you get yourself a tad bit more grounded in the reality of the situation.

You will find plenty of birth control available for a low cost. I saw it there today with my own eyes!

We want candidates who are intelligent and capable. What you've offered us is incompetence and labels. It isn't important to have a woman president unless she knows the issues, as Hillary Clinton does. It most certainly doesn't help to have a person of color unles ...

CNN Anchor Rips âbigotâ Ohio Tea Party LeaderApr 15, 2010
(This group is getting uglier and uglier every day.) By David Edwards and Muriel KaneWednesday, April 14th, 2010 -- 11:32 am CNN host Rick Sanchez described the leader of an Ohio Tea Party group as "a bigot and a liar" on Tuesday, after he had first referred to Hispanic immigrants as "spicks" and then attempted to defend himself by claiming he had merely been quoting a 1960's Bee Gee's song. Several weeks ago, during a march supporting immigration reform, Tea Party leader Sonny Thom ...

By Andrew McLemoreWednesday, April 28th, 2010 -- 9:42 pm During an appearance on the radio show of Fox News’ Alan Colmes, prominent tea party leader Tom Tancredo made it clear he believes President Obama may not be an American citizen, Think Progress reported. The Republican Party Left Me This WeekMar 05, 2011
I had been so hopeful that our country could stop fighting and get things done, but the actions of the Republican party this week convinces me that's not going to happen. I'm very discouraged and disappointed. I don't want to be a Democrat either, but the Republicans' actions are pushing me that direction. Independents, do you feel left out if you aren't connected to one of the large parties? Maybe that's what I want to do. I'm also thinking, after this week&# ...

We Have To Stop Calling The Republican PartySep 24, 2012
a political party...they're not. They're a cult. Facts and reality do not matter to these people. They've morphed what was once a political party and blended it with some distortion of Christianity where they support policies that are complete contradictions of the teachings of Jesus Christ. They've convinced millions that the best way to achieve economic prosperity is through facilitating more power and wealth towards the greedy at the expense of everyone else. T ...

Huckabee Says He Will Leave The Republican PartyOct 10, 2014
Maybe he can join Palin in Alaska.   In the above radio interview, Huckabee stated: “If the Republicans want to lose guys like me — and a whole bunch of still God-fearing Bible-believing people — go ahead and just abdicate on this issue, and while you’re at it, go ahead and say abortion doesn’t matter, either.”   http://bluenationreview.com/mike-huckabee-will-leave-gop-dont-fight-gay-marriage-can-buy-ticket/ ...

Speaking Of The Whiny New Republican PartyOct 29, 2015
Have all of you noticed that when they don't get their way, they throw temper tantrums? They will not discuss, debate, negotiate, or otherwise consider any other view but their own and, if they don't get their way, they take their ball and go home. This is so dangerous for our country. I hope they self-implode, and it looks like that's what they are in the process of doing.  ...

It's Been So Enjoyable Watching Republican Party Hacks Jul 21, 2016

"Todayâs Republican Party Is More Radical And ExtremeOct 06, 2012
Summary paragraphs from article in Kansas City Star: " Norman Ornstein, a distinguished political observer and resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute (hardly a liberal bastion) and his colleague Thomas Mann of the Brookings Institution have been studying Washington politics and Congress for more than four decades. They say they’ve never seen Washington as dysfunctional as it is now. And they blame Republicans. “We have no choice but to acknowledge that the core ...

Undercover Clinton Operative Just Exposed; Entire Republican Party FuriousOct 31, 2016
Paul Ryan has been running a not-so-secret shadow campaign for Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton and Paul Ryan have many things in common, such as progressiveness, open borders, amnesty, special interest lobbyists, and global worldviews. None of that coincides with Donald Trump’s “America first” approach, and that is very telling. In a leaked WikiLeaks email, we see more collusion between Paul Ryan and Hillary Clinton. It has been revealed that the Clinton campaign attempted to list a ...

Okay, WHO Will Be The Next Big GOP Leader BothDec 22, 2012
Right now apparently, from the talk about such a thing, a third party is looking pretty good to a lot of conservatives. A party known for, and powerful through, its discipline and willingness to fall in line behind its leaders has become anything but. The inability to come together behind Boehner isn't due to his incompetence--it's structural.  Will Rogers' saying, "I belong to no organized party. I am a Democrat." is now true for the Republicans. Mainstream John Boehner is ...

Our Peerless LeaderJun 13, 2017
Did you see the video of the cabinet meeting with Trump?   What does it remind you of?  I was thinking maybe those movies of gangsters with their mafia boss, or those movies about Nazis, communists and dictators where the underlings are "yes" people for fear of getting shot or "disappearing".  I am so shocked--our deplorable president with his cabinet of deplorables are absolutely nauseating.   From NBC: But if you watch the C-SPAN video from the cabinet room, not ...
