Transfers of Posts from Politics Board
Posted: Jul 20, 2013
While I understand the reasoning behind the moving of some hateful posts from the Politics board onto the Gab board due to the fact that they were not "political", I really do not appreciate them having been "dumped" into the Gab board either. some of us would rather stay away from the politics board due to the negative, horrifically snotty, rude, instigating posts made there by people with a propensity for hate and bullying. Now those types of people will "migrate" to the gab board just to continue with their hateful diatribes. perhaps we can have a "Garbage Board" where these types of posts can go without being detrimental to the peace and quiet of the other boards and not having to endure the types of posts the politics board induces. I know I would appreciate it. thanks for consideration. ;

I was saddened to see all those hateful posts moved to the Gab board. Leave them on the Politics board where all the hate is spewed on a daily basis.
The Gab Board has been an oasis from the nastiness, until now.

I so do agree with you! I do not think nastiness belongs anywhere. What amazes me is that I have all kinds of friends whose political views are opposite from mine, but we seem to manage to discuss things and not attack or be unkind to each other. Why can't this happen in a virtual atmosphere?

That would be great sport and allow some posters to come out of the closet with their views, so to speak.
I Think We Need a Topic of the Day Board - sm

Right now, we need a Zimmerman board. When the Paula Dean thing was brewing, we needed a Paula Dean board. I think if one was named "Topic of the Day," it would solve a lot of issues.
A lot of this stuff isn't really political, it just becomes political, because someone decides someone else is being a racist.
Well topic of the day would be misleading. - Zimmerman may be topic of month at least

How about a Current Events Board? - JC
[ In Reply To ..]
I think a Current Events forum would work. That covers everything. I really like the gab board for funm, gabbing, opinions about one's life's happenings, not heated news discussions.
You say you would rather stay away from politics - but they were not political

I read that somewhere else too. Someone wrote they come to the gab board to get away from the political board, yet the moderator posted that these posts were not political. You wouldn't move a message about peoples dogs or cats or bird watching, recipes or gabbing about hollywood stars or Casey Anthony to the politics board, so this case since its not political shouldn't be moved there just because people are sick of it here.
I can understand the moderators decision. She would literally catch you know what if she deleted the messages so since they were not political get them off the politics board. If anyone is to blame for all the negativity it is the posters who feel the need to insult and name call other posters just because they don't agree with them, yelling at them.
But since people wanted to "gab" about the trial this would be the place for it. I wanted to go to the political board to read about politics and issues that are affecting all of us. Reading how GZ is this or that, he's fat, his eyes are weird, the girlfriend does not know how to speak English, etc, etc, none of that is political and I was getting sick of reading non-political messages on the politics board. This is no different than the other trials that have gone on and people giving their opinion about them.
Of course I can't tell anyone what to do, but I think if anyone posts about the case that nobody should respond. Actually a similar suggestion like that was made. If people keep posting and nobody responds then soon it will die down and go away.
I think hot topics would work as opposed to politics-sm - anon

Hot topics could cover a number of potentially contentious issues of which politics are only one. Just my 0.02.
Oh how I wish, wish, wish - this could be the case

I am the OP that started this thread. I have read the comments on the politics board about the reasoning for dumping these "contentious issues" back on the gab board, and I do not think they are going to accommodate the gab board frequenters and still continue to dump the political/contentious issues here. I am already seeing an influx of those nasty political board posters migrating to the gab board and it saddens me. Why we have to be subjected to their type of nastiness is beyond me, but I do think a separate board for those types of postings would be very much appreciated. Maybe if we all sort of continue to ask, they will at least consider it?? just a thought.
I think "Hot Topics" is a great idea - sm

This way, the gab board can remain uncontentious, and the politics board can be what it actually wants to be - a forum for contentiousness and controversy.

Zimmerman Posts Moved Back To Politics BoardJul 23, 2013My reasoning for moving the Zimmerman posts here was because most the posts were just people "gabbing" about their opinion of it and was not offering any political input. I had figured that since everyone had been talking about other trials on the gab board, this is where the posts should go. Then the posts started getting more political and the arguing and name calling continued and I don't think anyone on the gab board was happy about that.

Another Observation On The Politics BoardSep 20, 2012I have been thinking how boring and pointless this Board has gotten in the last couple of months with the incessant Obama bashing and anything Democratic or liberal. I noticed that apparently I am not the only one thinking this because next to each post there is the counter that says how often a post is viewed. I notice that most original posts barely get over 50 hits and most secondary posts get maybe 10 to 25.
I did a random search of the achives and found that th ...

Deletions On This Board. Be Forewarned About Your "wording" Of Your Posts.Feb 03, 2013I had one of my posts reported for being "insulting" and thus removed. It should have been obvious from the post that I was replying to that I was "insulting" the pundits mentioned there (and, by extension, those who follow them, which I suppose "could" include some on the board) and not directly posters here. I didn't realize this board had a "slant" in terms of the moderation, but apparently it does. I'm not a longtime poster here, so maybe you all are already aware ...

Donald Trump-45 passed away on a fact-finding visit to Israel. While he was on a tour of Jerusalem he suffered a heart attack and died.
The undertaker told the American Diplomats accompanying him, 'We can have him shipped home for $50,000, or you can bury him here, in the Holy Land for just $100."
The American Diplomats huddled in a corner and discussed their options for a few minutes. They came back to the undertaker and told him that th ...

Bush and President Obama that were identified and determined by rumor-validation site, snopes.com, to be true, false, a mixture of true and false, or uncertain.
