One son just returned from his second tour, another son is there on his third tour. Funny thing, when pull out of troops by 2014 was a campaign promise, younger son told me no way will that happen! Karzai says he doesn't trust us and Kerry says Weeeeee, let's stay for ten more years. KERRY! Mr. I-hate-my-country-let-me-give-my-medals-back... Pffffft...
Kerry hates this country, too? - sm

Is this really the stuff of political discourse? That those who see things differently hate this country? Pffft indeed.

by the way, I have a looong lineage of family members in the military. So please, save your assumptions and your snark about promises for someone more easily led than I.

by the Afghan council, meaning terms of the final agreement are yet to be determined. This PROPOSED presence would be counter-terrorism and security training joint contingencies numbering between 8000 and 12,000, comprised essentially of 66% Americans and 33% NATO....a much smaller number than military commanders have recommended. Final numbers have not been established.
They would be subjected to very narrow parameters of authorized activities. As it stands now, only US Special Ops forces would be authorized to conduct any actual anti-terrorism raids and it is unclear if this provision will survive scrutiny of the council. $4 billion in annual international security aid is heavily contingent upon some limited presence of these US and NATO troops.
All security operations will be carried out by Afghan forces with US in a "support" role. According to senior administration officials, there is "NO scenario" where these troops will stay until "anywhere near" 2024.
Congratulations on that overblown bogus "broken promise" claim.

In answer to your question: Yes. I can refute that.
It is time to turn the page. When I am President, we will wage the war that has to be won, with a comprehensive strategy with five elements: getting out of Iraq and on to the right battlefield in Afghanistan and Pakistan; developing the capabilities and partnerships we need to take out the terrorists and the world̢۪s most deadly weapons; engaging the world to dry up support for terror and extremism; restoring our values; and securing a more resilient homeland.
The first step must be getting off the wrong battlefield in Iraq, and taking the fight to the terrorists in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Obama saying, the first thing he will do as President is bring the troops home, then, "You can take that to the bank." Liar. When I try to post the link, MTS keeps saying, no http address. It's there, so I'm not understanding, but I will try again.

There is no mention of Afghanistan. None. You really have to look at these things carefully. The president was, in fact, discussing Iraq.
Videos like these are propaganda. They are posted to take advantage of the weak and impressionable.
Check the title of the video - it is bring troops home from - Afghanistan. Not Iraq
No. The title of the video I posted is: Obama To End The War - sm

If you have another link, please share it. Meanwhile, it should be noted that the titles on youtube videos are supplied by the poster - they are not, in and of themselves, factual.
Then I will assume yours is not factual either. - Thanks for pointing that out.

It takes a lot of nerve for anyone to question his loyalty to and love for his country. Disgusted is too kind of a word for this kind of repulsive partisan rancor.
