Well, I have finally decided the time is right and am getting married on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 3 p.m. Just a small gathering of about a dozen friends and family.
My dress is ordered (GORGEOUS!), our rings are ordered and should be ready next week, I've ordered my bouquet, a friend of ours is making a customized little box for her son (the ring-bearer) to carry, and their little 3 year old daughter will be our flower girl. My daugher, age 20, is going to be my Maid of Honor.
With the economy the way it is, I am very pleased that (excluding the $100 house-call fee by the minister), I have managed to pull all of this off for under $250 (basically a day's work).
We're both SO excited and I've already got butterflies with the anticipation of it all.
Anyway, if anyone has any other cost-saving ideas for a wedding, please send them either by post or by email. I can barely contain my excitement at this point.
Thanks, my fellow MTs for any idea you may have and send my way. Oh, BTW, no formal sit-down dinner. Instead we are having assorted platters such as meat and chese and shrimp and fresh fruit and veggies with disposable yet somewhat attractive utensils. We're having hte ceremony in our little apartment and, whether permitting, will have room for overflow.
TIA for any other cost-saving hints...I'm SO excited so if my posts begin to drive you insane, just let me know (but nicely, please!).
