Auto Insurance

It's time for me to make a change.
Who do you have for auto insurance and have you been happy with them?
;
Been with StateFarm since 1989. I'm happy with them - sm

I guess our rates are comparable. I'm actually in the process of shopping around right now to see if I can find a better rate, but I think they are pretty good. We pay around $51 a month for full coverage. Never had an accident so have not needed to collect anything, but one time when we were at their office years ago we were going over our insurance policy and when the person walked us out and saw a crack in our windshield he immediately called and had it fixed for us at no charge.
Statefarm has always gone out of their way to help us. After we moved our agent actually called to just gab with me, make sure I made it okay and I was doing okay and see how our move went and said if there was anything they could do to be of help just give her a call.
Ditto, been with State Farm sine 1982 - sm - XXX

we pay $490 every 6 months and that is for two cars, one is full coverage, the other just the minimum (collision?) coverage so if we hit someone they are covered by our insurance. So yeh, happy, also have a letter from them stating we will never be cancelled for any reason. But no problems but have not really had to use it, have been hit a couple times but other persons fault. One was with Progressive, that was a nightmare, took me about 5 weeks to get my car fixed right using their "service", the other thru the local elementary school (bus backed into my parked empty car at the school), no clue what their insurance was though...so that is of no help (it was handled great)
have have to replace several windshields though - sm - XXX

with no issues....had a couple accidents long ago too (80s/90s) that SF handled great. My insurance never has gone up either for any accidents or speeding tickets .
Hey... thats not fair! I have State Farm - since mid 90s and

I called last week cause a stone hit my windshield while driving on the freeway and put a chip in it. I called State Farm, and they said I had to pay the full repair price of $80 becuase my deductible was $100. I thought once before my agent said that if I get a chip, they cover that. I guess not.
I have never filed a claim either.
Did you have full coverage? I have never paid- sm - XXX

a deductible on my windsheild repairs, have done 3 in all, never out a penny(covered under Comprehensive). I have a $500 deductible for accidents that are my fault, changed it from $250 to save some money, may change to $1K here soon, to save a bit more.
yea, and as a matter of fact, I only have a 100 deductible - since mid 90s

I know the agent told me in the past that this was covered 100%, but when I called this time, the lady that answered said, "No, not covered because it would be less than my deductible."

I have Erie. My ex-husband is an insurance agent (does not sell car insurance), and says it's the most inexpensive you can find, unless you're military. Also, you will never see commercials for Erie on TV. Who do you think pays for all those commercials!! They're also great with claims.
I have Nationwide - but always think

I could do better as far as cost, but so far no luck. Maybe I will try this Erie. Are they a national company?
Was with Mercury - - switched to Geigo

If you qualify . . . you need to be military or former military, spouse, child, etc. . . . they are widely considered to be the best around. Other insurers will just tell you to stay with them because there is no comparison.

Reducing Expenses--Home And Auto InsuranceSep 22, 2011Having had to take some pay cuts, I am looking at every expense I have to try and make ends meet. In looking at my home and auto insurance, I took a look at Progressive on-line and it looks like we could save a little. My hubby has had our insurance through the same company forever. How do you compare the quality of insurance other than the price?
What's the good, bad, and/or ugly? TIA. ...

Gun Deaths In US Projected To Top Auto DeathsDec 24, 2012
Guns and cars have long been among the leading causes of non-medical deaths in the U.S. By 2015, firearm fatalities will probably exceed traffic fatalities for the first time, based on data compiled by Bloomberg.
While motor-vehicle deaths dropped 22 percent from 2005 to 2010, gun fatalities are rising again after a low point in 2000, according to the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Shooting deaths in 2015 will probably rise to almost 33,000, and those rel ...
Car InsuranceApr 21, 2010Anyone else out there with a son who is under 25 that has been added to your car insurance? After dealing with our car insurance when our son got his driver's license, I was so aggravated that it cost more "because he is a boy". I am sorry, but I just don't buy that line. It is discrimination, plain and simple. I know they can quote "facts" that boys have more accidents than girls, but that is simply lumping all boys together. My son waited until he was 19 ...

My Argument With My InsuranceNov 11, 2009The other day, I got a bill for an ambulance. I got charged the entire $700+ dollars. Don't get me wrong - those paramedics were fantastic. I was having severe chest pain and within seconds, they had an IV inserted, my BP checked, nitro sprayed into my mouth and 1 mg of morphine plus some atrophine in my IV and a nasal cannula.
However, I'm being billed the entire amount because the ambulance company is "out of network.". This will not do. I dealt with in ...

So My Insurance Won't Change?Oct 05, 2013This morning I attended a meeting at the hospital where I work regarding our 2014 benefits. Yes, I have insurance through my employer, and yes, I am happy with it, but imagine my surprise when I found out how much the cost of my coverage will increase for 2014 because we are self insured and our hospital was levied a fee of 1,000,000 dollars (yup, one million dollars) for fiscal 2014 to help fund the exchanges. Of course, guess who pays that? Yes, all of employees. so tha ...
An MT Insurance Story...Jan 22, 2014I had insurance through my MT job but never filed a claim as I am relatively healthy and never met the deductible. I didn't have a colonoscopy until I was 55 or a mammogram until I was 56, my own fault, but my income had taken a nosedive and preventative care was the least of my worries. I was just lucky that both turned out OK. I lost my insurance when I was diagnosed with RA and couldn't maintain full time status or production, pretty close though. Because of ...
Car Insurance QuestionJan 26, 2014Hi, I don't know exactly how to Google this question and was wondering if anyone just knew the answer? Back six months ago when I got my insurance it popped up a third vehicle and I didn't check that vehicle, just the two I own and didn't think too much about it. Now, today, I just renewed insurance and AGAIN it popped up the same thir ...

Obamacare - It's Nice To Have InsuranceMar 13, 2014Being a long-time, self-employed contractor, getting medical insurance coverage was always a problem.
