For the past year and a half I have been sans health insurance. Fortunately, I only have a couple of prescriptions that I take on an intermittent basis, and even those are generics.
Walgreen's has a "Savings Club" for those without insurance. Normally enrollment costs $15 for a year, but this month only they have reduced it to $5 so I signed up. The club saved me $2 on today's Rx (meaning that the net enrollment cost for me was $3), and the pharmacist showed me the savings ($38) when I have my other Rx there refilled in a couple of months.
ALSO, if you have pets and they are prescribed a human medication by your vet, you can have it filled at Walgreen's and the Club discount may apply.
I hope this helps some of you who are in the same boat that I'm in. :) Please spread the word as this may help others too.
