A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
I am a pretty fast typist (110 wpm with 98% to 100% accuracy when tested by two different staffing companies). I have been a medical transcriptionist for 16 years now with 10 of those years at home. I get easily distracted while working at home. This might sound silly, but I have even tried to think of my job in a different way like by pretending I was waiting on customers who needed their orders right away (The orders were the reports.). Do any of you have any tricks for staying on task while transcribing from home? I have never had this problem while working outside. I know I need to get back outside working and eventually into a new career, but temporarily I'm stuck here (broken down car, etc.). Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, and I wish you all a wonderful New Year! : )
