meeting tonight with Ralph Reed's "Faith and Freedom Coalition," a VERY religiously conservative group. Apparently, between both candidates working hard to keep their feet out of their mouths and Rep. Mourdoch's big mistake, they're afraid of questions that would inevitably come from the audience and couldn't be answered without great danger to the current moderate-Romney/women-have-nothing-to-fear brand being marketed.
Full disclosure: R&R report this was erroneous, Ryan was never going to participate, and Ralph Reed, et al, say he certainly was--right up until a couple of hours ago.
I know--the cancellation is small potatoes. The attempts of the religious right to subvert the separation of church and state are profoundly not to most of us, though, so a little reminder of who Ryan would normally be reiterating promises to seemed in order.

Ryan reminds us all that we need a change in the WH. He reminds us we need a balanced budget, heck he reminds us that we just need a budget period. He reminds us that the country is a great place and we deserve better than what in in there now. He reminds us of all that is good with the country. He reminds us all of a lot of good things.
But hey, if clinging to hatred with blinders on is what floats your boat, then go for it. The rest of us have important issues to think about.

Your dismissal of the issue of women's reproductive rights as "hatred with blinders on" floats your boat, not mine. You would be surprised at just how important it has become for single and married women AND men on both sides of the aisle. Last night Ryan pitched to a meeting hosted by GLENN BECK and DICK CHENEY. :) The money being raised is going to be mostly "dark" (big and anonymous) and far from funny, of course, but that must be SOME crowd he's playing to there.
Needless to say, this sort of thing's as quiet and under the table as they can manage.
Ryan has 1 lonely speech today, straight in and out with no question because - his abortion position is same as Mourdoch's.
