Another big game hunter in trouble

In my local paper, "Zimbabwe says 2nd American illegally hunted lion."

This time identified as Jan Casimir Seski of Murraysville, Pennsylvania. Apparently, he is an oncologist/gynecologist who directs the Center for Bloodless Medicine and Surgery of Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Would venture to say he is not "bloodless" after all.

This has NOTHING to do with Planned Parenthood whatsoever!

There is a tiny tiny percentage worldwide of extremely rich and perverted people who want to hunt animals for sport and want to bring home a trophy. Not quite the same thing as alcohol prohibition.

These "hunters" do not want to break the law, technically anyway. Witness jerkface dentist hiding. They want to get away with things legally if possible, otherwise they will pay lots of money to get what they want illegally, i.e. some dumb airline or ship might offer to bring their trophies back at a huge cost to offset the bad PR and/or illegality depending on the country.

After the almost global condemnation of these "hunters" and censure, countries who allow this are thinking twice, and I really think it's a good thing if airlines stand up and be counted that they will not be a party to this.

Good for their PR and good for making it more difficult for these idiots to get their trophies mounted in their disgusting game rooms or whatever.

The point was banning something creates a black market, - not prohibition itself. geez.

that Prohibition outlawed a very mainstream activity which many, many people wished to participate in. Further, organized crime certainly existed before Prohibition, it was able to flourish and gain more power during Prohibition.

The airlines are simply saying they refuse to participate or make it easy for the hunters to get their trophies home. There are other ways for hunters to get them home, just not as conveniently/cheaply. It is an easy thing for the airlines to say as this likely will have minimal impact on their bottom line (really, how many trophies are being brought on the airlines annually). It is just good PR for the airlines. It would be entirely different if the federal government were to ban the import of any hunting trophy at all.
