Why shouldn't we the people vote for the issue of

Posted: Oct 1, 2016

allowing Syrian or other immigrants into our country along with how many of us want illegal aliens to remain in our country. I am sorry but this directly affects me as well as you. We don't have armed guards to protect us and our children, grandchildren, etc. They blame the elderly for sponging off of the younger ones when we earned our own SS and the congress spent all of that money. We should be repaid for that and most certainly not made to get less because of these immigrants. There is only so much land in this country as well as jobs, etc. We are permitting too many to stay here who are really dangerous and lie to get to stay. All of these people need to speak English so we don't have to spend bookoo bucks on education in different languages. Pretty soon the instructions you get if you are lucky to get any (usually have to find them on the internet) will be printed in 49,000 languages. That is not feasible and I for one want to vote on some of these things that the government and especially Obama or anyone with a pen who is president (whomever that might be) just willy nilly sign a law for. I live in this country. If these elitists and people in government don't like it here, let them leave and get in people who love this country and let them have the jobs. Bet you would see far less mistakes too. Teach our young people about why the Constitution and other things are so important. The only way anyone will learn about when you don't have freedom is when it is suddenly taken away from you. Just think if the LGBT community suddenly lost their rights as well as other organizations. There would be howling and fighting on a grand scale to get that back. Think if you were Christian and your country suddenly goes against you and God taking Him out of everything. No one asked me to vote on that either. ;

we need to vote in the smaller elections... - QTMT

President does not seem to matter so much. It seems whoever becomes president will be in continual stalemate one side against the other.

We need to start paying attention to who is getting into congress and the senate.

It seems these are the 'elites' causing our problems. They create the laws and control the money, and hide behind and blame the president for everything.

President Obama (and the majority of this country who voted for him) were completely shut down in 2010 with the people who were elected into congress and the senate, but I think they got in easily because such a small percentage of people voted in those elections.

I read that the state I live in, only 13%, yes 13% of my party voted in the last elections of 2010. I voted, I encouraged others but they just laughed at me.

Those who did not vote complain and complain how things are.

Everything our president did pretty much was before that I think. He was left as ineffective and forced to use executive power after 2010. I felt bad for him because his hands have been tied ever since, and he has been trying to fulfill the promises he made to the majority.

I guess the minority is ruling. That is what needs to change in my opinion. Congress, Senate, these people should be limited because the power has shifted my friends, and no matter who we choose for president, it will not matter.

Nothing will be getting done for a long time coming.

...and that is what will cause revolution, perhaps like Egypt with people in the streets. We are creating this ourselves. You cannot keep people down for too long. It is just the balance of nature. We are unbalanced now...

Many People Saying They Will Not Vote For Trump If He Is The (sm)Apr 21, 2016
eventual nominee.  Let me put something in perspective.   Justice Scalia's seat is vacant. Ginsberg is 82 years old, Kennedy is 79, Breyer is 77, and Thomas is 67. Nowadays, the data shows that the average age of a Supreme Court retirement or death occurs after 75.  These are 5 vacancies that will likely come up over the next 4-8 years. The next President will have the power to potentially create a 7-2 Supreme Court skewed in their ideology (which has gone on for decad ...

Question For People Planning To VoteApr 10, 2012
Just a question as I am interesting in hearing the positives on both sides.  Without saying negatives about the side you don't support.  Can you give me a reason(s) why I should vote for Obama or why I should vote for Romney.  I don't want to hear negativity about the other candidate, already read enough.  And if possible don't try and make up things like Romney will try and convert everyone to Mormon or Obama will save the planet and covert everyone to muslim. ...

Romney Won The Married People VoteNov 12, 2012

The Pope And Politics: Should He Or Shouldn't He?May 18, 2015
Well, since it's very quiet on the forum today, I thought I'd post something I initially read on Friday on paper in the WSJ, but I couldn't find the exact article online, so I posted the same story from my other favorite, the Washington Post:  Pope Francis and the vatican announced a treaty that recognized the Palestinian state, and he also conferred two 17th century Palestinian nuns for canonization. Even if you're not Catholic or you don't agree with him, ya gott ...

Now Here Is An Issue We Should ALLApr 23, 2014
Its about how vets are dying literally because of the wait. this is NOTHING new and goes back to the Vietnam war, but one good reason I oppose war in general is our RECORD of not taking care of the soldiers who are signed up at too young of an age to know what they are getting into - and often WHY. We should all be outraged over this and express our outrage to our congressmen and women - and ALL administrations who don't make this a priority. ...

Help With Skin Issue, PleaseJul 26, 2011
I've never had this before, but on my forehead and spreading to a small part of my cheek, near my mouth and on one side of my nose I've developed seborrheic keratosis.  My PCP told me to use a very mild cleanser and hydrocortisone cream x3 daily, but it really doesn't seem to be helping much.  The spots get warm to the touch and itchy and are really getting more and more difficult to cover when I have to go out. Why Does Money Have To Be Such An Issue?Jun 23, 2010
Even when it's not the lack of it, but more the equality in spending it. My DH gets very upset and defensive when I suggest to him that he has a whole lot more money in his checking account than I do in mine, yet I'm paying ALL the household expenses, all the vet bills, and ALL the remodeling expenses on the house. He'll make some lame excuse, and then he closes up, shuts down, and sulks. I have more than enough to live on, but that's not the point. I've decide ...

I have a bra question. I've recently learned that I have been wearing the wrong size bra for years (who hasn't unfortunately). I was sized at Victoria Secret and am a size 34DDD. I've always worn bigger size bras to fit the cups and had spillage and still had a gap in the band part, no matter the size or style, and now I know why they never fit properly. Well, VS has my size 34DDD (of course) in many styles but they are at least $50 for one bra and way out of my price range, n ...

A Few Observations About The Tax Issue.Oct 03, 2016
The first thing to note is that any business, and especially those that do business in multiple states and even in other countries, operates in landscape of tax obligations, of which the federal income tax is only one element and might even be much less significant than others. Second, "tax" refers to every and any monetary obligation that any and all taxing authorities levy on a business and sometimes certain particular operations that it conducts.  For instance, fees for building permits ...

Should I Mention About A Possible Medical Issue Or NotDec 27, 2009
Some time back I mentioned to my DIL that her father should get his heart checked out. I noticed he had creases in his earlobes. The reason I mentioned is was for the fact I had a cardiologist who says this over and over in dictations, then when studying further found it could mean heart problems. Well, you would have thought I had tried to kill someone, everyone sprang into action stating there was nothing wrong with him at all. Fast forward a few years, DIL's father just recovering from q ...
