I've been thinking

Posted: Nov 19, 2016

that the liberals on this board (all 3 of us) should declare a moratorium and not post for a year, come back and see if Mexico has paid for the wall, how many jobs have come back or started coming back, whether ISIS is weaker or stronger, if we are engaged in another war somewhere, whether the rich have gotten richer, whether the poor and middle class are any better off.  After all, it is impossible to argue with those who take Fox News and Breitbart as gospel and write off all the MSM.  If I have to eat my words then I will keep a jar of salsa in reserve.  I'm sure this will make the majority on this board very happy.

;

The one problems with that - scenario

is that by a year from now, if Trump does what he has promised, we on here will not be able to afford internet to get on and say I told ya so!!!

Obama and German Chancellor Merkel want the internet - controlled by government.

Sounds like something the East Germans would do. Two smug losers.

Blame them.

Every country is free to limit access to the internet for. .sm - VTMT

their people, most notably Russia, China and North Korea. Democratic nations do not limit access or control the internet. You need to get your info from a credible site.

They can't have people thinking for themselves. - They might not think "the right thing."

[ In Reply To ..]
The German chancellor implied the internet would have to be subject to "restrictive censorship laws..." and there we have it.

Entirely possible - Hail Caesar

Also possible that he resigns because he doesn't really like being president and we are stuck with Mike Pence; he is impeached for any number of reasons and we are stuck with Mike Pence; he starts WWIII and none of us is here any more.

Stupendous idea. - DeplorableMe

I say go for it.

It's been obvious for a long time - burt the cat

[ In Reply To ..]
that you and many others on this board are not interested in hearing points of view that do not agree with yours. There is an incredible amount of name-calling and nastiness whenever someone expresses liberal ideology. It would be nice if more of you wanted to discuss issues rather that heave insults.

So not true. - DeplorableMe

[ In Reply To ..]
I believe you may be twisting the facts here. Take an objective look at the board to see where the nastiness lies.
Seems to me - burt the cat
[ In Reply To ..]
it lies in many places but since the right-wingers on this board outnumber the left by quite a large number, there is more nastiness on that side. No point in arguing this though. And if the left has gotten nastier in the last two weeks it is because we truly cannot understand the support of a man like Donald Trump - probably the most unqualified individual ever to run for POTUS as well as all the personal detriments that have been mentioned over and over again.
And yet the majority has spoken. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
It is not up to anyone on this board or elsewhere to explain things until the left understands why Mr. Trump was elected.

The left has been nasty since I started visiting this board about 3 or 4 years ago, when gloating over BO's 2nd win was the jab of the day. Well, guess what? The tide has turned and the people have spoken.

Not only did the American people select a Republican president, they also selected a continued Republican House and Senate majority as well as many Republican governorships throughout the land. What does that tell you? It tells me that the MAJORITY of Americans have wised up and are tired of liberal policies and big government.

Have a nice day.
Actually - old and burned out
[ In Reply To ..]
the majority of voters voted for Hillary Clinton. Since half the eligible voters did not even vote, Donald Trump was elected by about 25% of the population. The majority of states are red and so they vote Republican. However, things always swing back and forth so, barring a real apocalypse, let's see how you all feel after Trump is in office for a while.
I'm quite sure I will feel just fine. - I bet you will, too.

of the right on this board to accuse those they don't agree with of not being able to read or do their research. I find this very condescending and so I will ask you what you know about Donald Trump. In his 70 years on this planet he has done absolutely nothing for anyone but himself and there is no reason to believe he will change. His lies have been documented repeatedly and exceed those of HC. You all keep bringing up Alinsky. Many young people are enamored of communism in their youth and then move on; it doesn't mean anything. In spite of her flaws, HC has a history of public service and has worked for the rights of women and children for her entire life. I wonder if you will be as critical of DT as he continues to enrich himself while he uses the office of the president to make business deals which is the indication right now. I still say wait until a year from now and see how much you still support Trump. I only hope the damage he does will be reversible when we get rid of him.
Actually, the majority of states weren't really read - Truthhurts
[ In Reply To ..]
More tates were blue and/or undecided until and during election night. There were states that were always blue turned red because they were unhappy with the direction of the country and didn't want Clinton because it would have been more of the same. She didn't care about the whites anyway. She cared only for minorities, hoping to get all of their votes but she failed. They could see through her.

In my state, only 3 cities stayed blue while the rest of the state went red.

Oops! Should be RED, not Read. LOL Time to go. - Truthhurts

Going from community organizer to Senator who jumped right into campaigning for president isn't a very good resume, either. He did help to divide this country into classes and races and you can't deny that.

Right now, as I type this, he is in Peru and has, again, chastising America for the way we vote, who we are, and not exactly reassuring the world about the president-elect but doing the opposite.

times in the past, the conservative point of view was ridiculed and posters were called harsh names.

The moderator tried to stop it and many good people left because they couldn't give their opinions.

So, don't say no one was interested in hearing points of view. There are some posters here that tried for many years and were ridiculed. I've asked for sanity here myself and requested discussions instead of insults but it always fell on deaf ears.

So, you have a choice. The election is over and instead of spewing hate, try working in unity. That goes for everyone. Me? I'm the rude one according to another poster. LOL

I periodically limit my posting when the Republicans get really ugly - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I think it makes them look really bad to normal people and since Hillary won the popular vote in spite of all the cheating from the "right", I believe I am right.

So when I feel I need to correct some misinformation or need to bring something up that I feel is important, I will continue to do so.

This morning, my radio alarm came on to some crazy right-wing radio. I heard the same stuff on that radio show (almost exactly) as the "stories" that the 2 conservatives post all the time. I find it quite nauseating that they do not have their own thinking skills, but just parrot the right wing talking points and offer the right-wing echo chamber as proof.

There was a very good segment on CBS this morning regarding the fake news. Listen to it here: http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/the-battle-to-stop-the-spread-of-fake-news-online/

Cheating from the right? I believe the votes were switching - from Trump to Hillary.

The Republicans are rewriting the history again - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
The Republicans started off with making rude remarks about Obama's race with images of monkeys and watermelons, lied about trying to work with him but actual goal was "one-term president", demanded his birth certificate and just a few days ago a West Virginia mayor was forced to resign after racist remarks he made about M. Obama. The major of Superior, Wisconsin resigned in aftermath of ignorant remarks he made about President Obama.

The hypocrisy from the right is blatant, obnoxious and juvenile--as usual.
And the bad behaviour of a few gives the libs free license to - act like spoiled children?
[ In Reply To ..]
A lot of people are fed up with this nonsense protesting and crying and carrying on. President Obama doesn't even seem to care. He's done nothing to quell this. Instead, he's going on his farewell tour with the hope of remaining relevant. I can't believe that he doesn't have the thought in his head how the world leaders are going to look at him for not doing anything to get order back in his own country. It's absolutely appalling!

I definitely limit my posting when the Democrats get really ugly - I need to correct information - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I too feel the need to correct misinformation, which is what I'm doing now.

First, Hillary did not win the popular vote. She tried to steal the election with her leftist politicians, first by letting illegals and felons vote, second by having her leftist friends hack into the voting machines to switch the Trump votes for her, and third, fourth, fifth, sixth, etc...well won't even go there for safety sake. Sure it worked for some, luckily not enough though. Fortunately, thank God for country it backfired in it's face.

So, in spite of all the cheating from the left it did not work and fortunately for the country you are wrong.

It is also not correct to keep perpetuating and telling falsehoods. Just because it keeps getting repeated does not mean it will mysteriously become true.

I too come across crazy left-wing radio shows. Too many unfortunately and yes I hear the same thing there. Word for word. It's like they program people to think and say what they tell them too. Occasionally I will listen to hear what left-wing craziness they are spewing, but it makes my head hurt thinking people actually believe what they say and spew it word for word, so I don't listen long and gain my sanity back. You wrote exactly what is going on with the left-wing, but you labeled it incorrectly. It is the left wing that is doing what you wrote, not the right. And I find it quite sickening that the left don't have their own critical thinking skills and need to be fed what to say and do.

Unfortunately CBS is one of those sites. CBS, CNN, Fox, MSNBC, ABC, etc IS fake news. I find it laughable that the people spewing the fake news tell tales of other stations giving fake news.

It's mildly amusing, but seriously nauseating.
