Thinking about voting for Bernie, but one question (sm)

Posted: Jan 18, 2016

Exactly what IS your fair share of what someone else has earned?  I'm not quite clear on that.  heehee.

Wrong question. The correct question is have... - Sm

you paid your fair share of taxes on your income or are you hiding your profits offshore and relying on the disappearing middle class to finance the country and the poor to clean your toilets for slave wages. The biggest welfare expense we have in this country are corporate welfare recipients. The tone of your post tells me you will never support Bernie Sanders.

Wish I could like this over and over and over... - again and again and again

Why someone poor enough to be an MT can't grasp the concept is beyond belief!

Cognitive dissonance and disbelief it is - happening to them

they will have the ruby slippers out soon and be tapping away, trying to make this all come out right...but it won't, not if you work in medical transcription, that is. Maybe they have a spouse in the corporate control field.

if I am supposed to get my fair share, I'm just wondering how much of someone else's hard-earned money would that be? IOW,how many people have to scrub those toilets so I can get my "due"?

Why do you feel you are "due" anything? - nm

I don't think it is so much she is feel she is due anything - however

That is what socialists feel. Anyone who makes anything and spends their time and effort working is supposed to share it with everyone else. Socialism 101.

If anyone believes that Bernie Sanders is going to change corporate greed, well as they say "I've got a bridge for sale".

Socialism is for the middle to low income people. We are supposed to "share", give up our hard earned income, but not the top 1% in their club. Bernie Sanders and the rest of the millionaires/billionaires (who have infiltrated the democrat party too) will never share their wealth.

So, yeah, I'd like an answer to her question too...how much is a fair share?
Wake up, the 1% love socialism for themselves...sm - VTMT

Remember our taxes bailed out the 1% when the banks failed. Those same banks admitted guilt, paid big fines in the billions, and no one went to jail. The big corporations who pay little in taxes on their profits and pay their employees starvation wages, rely on socialism for the government assistance which enables the employees and their families to eat. These people love socialism for themselves, just not for the 99%. Things are screwed up and need to be fixed.

Addendum: Bernie Sanders is not a millionaire.
MLK believed our system could be described as... - sm

“socialism for the rich, rugged individualism for the poor.”

Bernie Sanders will never change that - nm

Voting For Bernie SandersJan 18, 2016
Now you all can flame me, but having lived through the 50s and 60s when Communism was a threat to our country, I cannot fathom anyone voting for Bernie Sanders. Socialism is too similar to Communism and eventually turns to Communism. You mean to tell me you would like your life being paid a specific salary and if you were luckily someone who made more than average salary or was an attorney or doctor or someone educated, how would you like someone coming in to take your money after all the sch ...

Clarifying Myself On Voting For BernieJan 18, 2016
Just Google Communism, Socialism, Marxism and Capitalism and decide if you want to vote for Bernie Sanders or any Democrat. The only Democrat I ever liked was Kennedy. I wish that they had not assassinated him. I wonder what our country would be like now. So, get your mind off of me getting hung up on the hearings. All I know is that we have fought Communism in other countries like Vietnam, etc. We don't like Communism or socialism. I would check out on each one the way that they ...

Trump is disgusting, and we all know why. He's also had many failures, despite opportunities 99% of us didn't have.  In these failures, he's screwed over the little guy time and time again.  He doesn't care.  He's a jerk.  His opinion of women is clear.  He's a fool.  He also knows nothing about government. Hillary is untrustworthy, and we all know why.  I don't think she would be honest with us about ANYTHING, and her husban ...

Would Like Some Advice Regarding My Son Voting SmNov 02, 2010
My 18 yo son has registered to vote and I would like to take him today to do just that. However, my quandry is, he is developmentally disabled and his disability is such that he receives SSI because of it. I would like to point out that he did graduate from high school this June and I believe would be able to understand the mechanics of voting (with my help perhaps), but I know that he would have no idea who to vote for. So, I am questioning whether it is responsible of me to let him vote (perha ...

Went to vote this morning, and Fiorina, Rubio were on the ballot to vote for.  I asked why, they mumbled something about printing ballots long ago.  What if some numb nut votes for them, what happens to the vote?  They all looked at me as I had sprouted two heads and 4 arms.  UMMM, don't know.  Okay, what do you know?  WOW, and it comes down to Indiana.  If it is any forecast of things to come, I don't know who is going to get the votes from Indiana.& ...

Because Voting In Ohio Just Isn't Hard Enough..smAug 10, 2012
Ohio voting just got a little harder, not because early voting has been cut down, and not because of new ID restrictions. That's right. Republicans are doing everything in their power to ensure a win in Ohio. The latest tactic works on a county by county basis. County by county it is decided whether or not to extend hours at the voting sites. Each county has a commission comprised of two dems and two pubs. You would think this would be a good thing to extend hours in this state right? ...

In Response To Below Re: Why Are You Voting For TrumpJul 24, 2016
It is painfully obvious that President Obama used the tools he had available in order to do something. Unfortunately, the only thing republicans (the ones in control of congress) know is dictatorship - they know nothing about real life and how one has to compromise. I do it all day, every day in my life or I would not have a job let alone a husband or relationships. When you lose at a game or an election, you then have to play fair. They have acted like spoiled little losers and it makes me asha ...

Obama Voting BlocApr 04, 2014
I heard on Mark Simone's NY radio show today that the 4 groups of people who put Obama through to the presidency were (1) African Americans, (2) Hispanic Americans, (3) young people and (4) single women. Those 4 groups of people are also the ones most negatively impacted by this current economy. Isn't that just wonderful? The ones who helped put him in office are the ones reaping the least reward for doing so. What a guy! The most recent unemployment numbers are higher than the natio ...

Bernie's Top TenMar 28, 2011
Sanders compiled a list of some of some of the 10 worst corporate income tax avoiders.  1) Exxon Mobil made $19 billion in profits in 2009. Exxon not only paid no federal income taxes, it actually received a $156 million rebate from the IRS, according to its SEC filings.  2) Bank of America received a $1.9 billion tax refund from the IRS last year, although it made $4.4 billion in profits and received a bailout from the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department of nearly $1 trillio ...

Yes, Bernie.Jan 02, 2016
Sanders doesn't think it makes sense for "students to pay a higher interest rate for college loans than people pay on mortgages and car loans." First, Mr. Sanders, student loan rates are running around 5%, so they're hardly exorbitant.  Second, Mr. Sanders, home loans and car loans are secured loans.  The lender can repossess the home or the car if payment isn't made.   Student loans typically are unsecured by any collateral.  Please note that the other major ...

This Independent And Her Entire Family Are VotingAug 19, 2016
There is one overriding consideration in our family, and that is the urgent need to break the strangle-hold that the "elite", the "insiders", the "establishment" have had on government for too long. In other words: The "old-boy" (or "old-girl") network. Money, and its illicit influence. Back-room deals and corrupt arrangements. Had Sanders not sold out and broken off an independent candidacy, our family frankly would have been split, but unfortunately Sanders proved to be just another P ...

Well I got my absentee ballot in the mail today and I sat and stared at it for awhile and thought about playing eeny-meeny-miny-mo....both of you are bad so I really don't know.   What scares me about Romney though is his whole deal on banning abortion (I realize he isn't as extreme as people are making him on the issue) and the planned parenthood cuts.  Um sounds like a mathematical equation of No abortions + No birth control for the poor = Increased welfare cases. &nbs ...
