Something I was seriously thinking about today while watching CSpan 1,2,3

If Congress wants to pass bills/laws, WHY DO THEY WASTE HALF THE DAY IN GENERAL SPEECHES? Senate Democrats are complaining about bills in the House that have not been voted on and the House is complaining about the Senate sitting on bills passed by them. As of today, there are now 40 jobs bills sitting in the Senate not voted on and today is the last day in session until after the election.
I think the House has already left to go home. Harry Reid is blocking votes as they are rehashing old bills (healthcare right now) that aren't that "important" to our country at this moment. Maybe someone should tell them that HCA has already passed?
This is what gets me furious and I'm disgusted that I get ignored when I write letters.
