Thinking about crime, the economy and social unrest

So I was thinking, if I was a criminal, what sort of crime would I do. I could only think of economic reasons. There was not one crime for money that I thought would be worth doing and going to jail over. Selling drugs, burglary, banks, jewelry stores, kidnapping, fraud and swindling.
Nothing would be as good as a good paying job. If everyone had a job that provided the basics of life, we could do away with at least 50% of the crime and a lot of problems would fix themselves.
There would still be crimes of greed, anger, and emotional illness, but half would be great.

[ In Reply To ..]I was all happy there for a moment, thinking I found a partner to do just one simple little crime with, something where we do not hurt anyone. I think a bank robbery would be good...just once. Pay off the bills for a year to take some of the load off and give my fingers a break. :)
