Breast mass followup

Posted: May 7, 2014

A few months ago, I posted a request for prayer.  One of the issues was a suspicious breast lump, which was recommended to be reimaged.  After 3 appointments that had to be rescheduled because of snowstorms here in the Northeast, I had followup images, including ultrasound, and ultimately a core needle biopsy last Thursday.  The radiologist called me yesterday to say the nodule was benign.  What a relief!

I just want to thank everyone who prayed.  Those prayers meant so much to me.  God bless you all.

I'm sure what a relief it must have been to get the final results, especially after having to reschedule so many times! That must have been torture. Blessings!

Wonderful News! - Christine

Followup On My Skin CancerJan 11, 2010
Well, I had my surgery on New Year's Eve, and came away with an 8 cm incision wrapping around my dorsal forearm.  I got the pathology back and it was a well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, 3 x 3.5 cm, all margins clear.  Right now looking at the incision it's hard to imagine that he's correct when he says it will eventually be just a very thin white line.  It looks like someone tried to cut my arm off.  I have to go back every three months for a recheck ...

Followup To Bully On School BusApr 11, 2013
So on Sunday I talked to the two moms and let my friend know about what I heard the two girls say.  I saw one of the girls on Monday and asked her about the boy who had thrown the punch.  She said he was not on the bus, but was at school that day (any number of reasons he was not on the bus) and the regular bus driver did not drive on the way home. I didn't ask about whether or not her mom went into the school or reported it. Today I had to go to that school for orientation in an ...

Followup To The Budget Terminations/reductions In The Obama PlanApr 12, 2011
I'm not done looking at different reactions to FY2012. This one came from the National Taxpayers Union. It makes you stop and think how many times over the years this style of termination/reduction has been put in place by all other Presidents.    Despite some worthy attempts at spending restraint, President Obama’s latest budget plan relies more heavily on new revenues, rosy economic assumptions, and accounting shifts than many taxpayers would expect, according to a speci ...

Diagnosed With Paget's Of BreastJan 03, 2011
This has took me a while to come to terms with it, but I was diagnosed December 3 with Paget's of the right breast. This was misdiagnosed a year ago as eczema. I have to wait and have my 2nd MRI (as I freaked out with the 1st one) on the 31st of this month with a sedative this time, and an ultrasound to find out how far it has progressed. The mammogram is completely clear though and they did not find any lumps. Much prayers are appreciated as I have a 12 and 6 year old and husband at home. ...

Anyone With Experience Breast-feeding?Oct 27, 2010
My daughter has a 7-week old.  She is breast-feeding and all is going well.  She is a special ed administrator/teacher and will have to go back to work in December.  There will also be 2 short overnight trips for work.  She wants to continue the breast milk by pumping and have the nanny give the baby the bottle of breast milk.  The problem is, the baby absolutely refuses a bottle.  She wants the breast or nothing.  It is truly a fight a ...

Has Anyone Ever Undergone A Breast Reduction? (sm)Jun 30, 2010
I have always, ALWAYS had large breasts.  At the age of 12 my nickname was Dolly Parton (humiliating).  I constantly battle with breast masses (all benign so far thankfully), back and neck pain.  Recently I went to Belks and was fitted for a bra and even I was shocked at my "correct" bra size ..... 42 DDD!!!!!!!  I have indentions in the top of my shoulders from where my bra has buried into my skin and I am SICK OF IT!!!  I am looking for anyone who has undergone breast ...

Battle With Breast Lumps, Anyone Else?Jun 04, 2010
I have a family history of breast cancer (aunt with bilateral at a very early age) and have been battling with breast lumps for the past 15 years but very frequently over the last five years or so.  My last breast mass excision was about three years ago after a horrible scare but thankfully it, as well as the others, have been benign.  Three weeks ago I had a horrible attack of cholecystitis (very abrupt) and underwent a cholecystectomy.  While showering three days ago I found yet ...

Breast Cancer Awareness, Perhaps Going Too Far?Oct 07, 2013
In an e-mail from child's 1st teacher, there is a notation that October 15th is wear pink day in honor of the Komen foundation.   While I think it is wrong to over-shelter kids, I also have to wonder in this case if this would be going perhaps too far.  It is nothing I will raise a stink over, my son will not be wearing pink as he does not have anything pink but I am just kind of baffled by this. ...

Small Lesion On Breast, How ConcernedOct 19, 2009
I just had a mammogram in March of this year, everything fine. I noticed a slightly bigger than pencil eraser size reddish lesion on 1 margin of my breast day before yesterday. I have had other skin lesions and made visits to the dermatologist as recent as about 2 months ago, had seborrheic dermatitis on my face, also notice sometimes I have like a red, itching place on the upper groin. I wonder if I should be worried enough to go back in and have this latest place checked out? ...

Found A Lump In My Breast Two Days Ago AndOct 19, 2011
my doctor is almost certain it is not a benign lump. I am having a mammogram later today. My cousin died from breast cancer after an 8 year battle earlier this year. Question Regarding Thawed Turkey BreastFeb 10, 2014
Today I thawed a turkey breast (thawed it in cold water in the fridge).  Planned to make dinner tonight with it.  It is now thawed, but we are really not in the mood for what I had planned.  My question is will it last overnight in the fridge or once thawed do I need to use it right away? Thanks. ...

I asked if others had faced similar and thanks for the messages. As soon as I found the spot I started calling for as soon as I could get in to see about a mammogram.I can self refer on most appointments but found out if you find something, not a normal mammogram and you have to get doctor referral. That was Monday, so today was my day off. Started the day off with early doctor appointment, had already found out that I could possibly be worked in the same day, same building, with mammographic o ...

The Breast Pump Industry Is Booming, Thanks To Obamacare. :)Jan 05, 2013
[Interested in a new line of work?] Excerpts from Washington Post article, link to artle below. "The legislators who drafted Obamacare wrestled with cosmic issues of health and spending, but here’s one consequence they didn’t foresee: a boom in demand for breast pumps that has left some retailers scrambling to keep up. Tucked within the Affordable Care Act is a provision requiring insurance companies to cover breast pumps and visits to lactation consultants at no cost to ...

In Followup To Post Below Titled "Neither Political Party Has Done Much"Feb 26, 2011
Your post reminded me of what George Carlin once said - Nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care.  The owners of this country do not want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking.  They don't want well informed, well educated people.  You have got to watch this video.  George Carlin may have been a comedian, but he was also very right on about his views of what is going on in politics and "the club" (the one that you and I don't belong to) and beat ...

Mass Exodus Of PhysiciansJun 26, 2016
This article on the mass exodus of physicians post Obamacare is a few years old, but I found the Comments section quite interesting.  Docs describe "feeling like slaves," a new low record of visit time (30 seconds), etc.  With only 1 or 2 exceptions, these docs HATE EHR and the time that it consumes (which is why so many have/are retired/retiring).  They also talk about the onerous regulations that the feds have placed on them, plus the shrinking reimbursements. Not new in genera ...

Another Mass Shooting, Possible Hostage Taking AtAug 05, 2012
Unfortunately, none of the followers congregated there were packing assault weapons or courageous enough to step forward and take charge of the situation, as GOP US Rep Louie Gohmert, Ted Nugent and their ilk have suggested mitigates against stricter gun control laws.  Too soon for an injuries/fatalities body count, as grief-stricken family and friends await notification of their loved ones' fates.     ...

Condensed Version Of Actual Mass Arrest, AndJan 31, 2012
I saw all of this unfold live - from beginning to end.  This footage is condensed, but in no way retouched, other than some captions.  It proves what I was saying earlier, and also proves that the mainstream media (bought & paid for by Big Biz, just like the Mayor of Oakland and the Oakland P.D.), is going out of its way to paint a completely different picture than what actually happened.  Remember:  You can no longer make judgements about ANYTHING that happens in this c ...

A House Committee Just Came Closer Than Ever To Mass Deportation.Mar 21, 2015
Imagine if your committee was going to pass a bill designed to facilitate the deportation of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of unauthorized immigrants. How would you promote it? A town hall? A sober op-ed? A memorial for the two law enforcement officers the bill is named after, who were both killed by unauthorized immigrants (AKA, ILLEGAL ALIENS)? The House Judiciary Committee marked up and passed the "Michael Davis, Jr., and Danny Oliver in Honor of State and Local Law Enforcement Act ...

Mass. Supreme Court Ruled On Pledge Case..smMay 09, 2014
In this case, a family sued on the grounds that having the Pledge Allegiance recited in school everyday discriminated against their children because they did not follow/worship the Christian God. While their children (and all U.S. children) are free to not recite it, it was argued that non-pledgers were discriminated against, treated as un-American, and un-patriotic, and ridiculed as such. Additionally, even if they wanted to demonstrate their patriotism, these students could not because "Under ...

Four People Killed, Five Wounded In China Mass ShootingJun 18, 2015
Four people, including two police officers, were killed in a shooting in China's northern Hebei province on Tuesday, state television reported on its official microblog, a rare "mass shooting" in which five people were wounded. The four killed in Suning county included at least one suspect, China Central Television said, giving few other details. The case was still under investigation, it said. ...
