This article on the mass exodus of physicians post Obamacare is a few years old, but I found the Comments section quite interesting. Docs describe "feeling like slaves," a new low record of visit time (30 seconds), etc. With only 1 or 2 exceptions, these docs HATE EHR and the time that it consumes (which is why so many have/are retired/retiring). They also talk about the onerous regulations that the feds have placed on them, plus the shrinking reimbursements.
Not new in general, but I like reading the specifics. I also think it's good for us to get a feel for what they're thinking.

[ In Reply To ..]Back then, some were saying we would have too many physicians and advocated limiting medical school admissions. The other side was warning that we would have a shortage if we did not start producing more physicians because of aging baby boomers. This was way before Obamare.

[ In Reply To ..]What was discussed "way before Obamacare" is MOOT. The point of the piece is that practicing physicians are retiring en mass BECAUSE OF OBAMACARE. That is the REASON they gave. They didn't say that they are retiring prematurely because of the number of seats in medical school!!

Where is the evidence that it has? This was a prediction. Predictions are not facts. The bottom line, as I said in my previous post, is we need to train more doctors.
