Four people killed, five wounded in China mass shooting

Four people, including two police officers, were killed in a shooting in China's northern Hebei province on Tuesday, state television reported on its official microblog, a rare "mass shooting" in which five people were wounded. The four killed in Suning county included at least one suspect, China Central Television said, giving few other details. The case was still under investigation, it said. ;

about one of these incidents a year for as long as I can remember. (Haven't we had about 3 or 4 just in 2015?) This stuff just happens like tornadoes in Kansas... churches, malls, theaters, schools of all grade levels. My first memory of a mass murder was way back in 1966 when Charles Whitman took aim from the Texas tower.

And now, the only thing really shocking about such incidents is that we still haven't done anything to prevent them.

Everytime someone suggests reasonable controls and restrictions on guns, the NRA fires up their machine and convinces the right wing that the evil liberals are coming to take away their guns.

Just take a look at Chicago where guns are a no-no, but - it has a very high crime rate.x

I would love to see something like the DMV for gun owners. You would: 1. Register all guns just like cars. 2. You would have to pass a test for a license to use it. There isn't a whole lot of trust on this. Looks like an off duty cop, in an unmarked car, but wearing a uniform, saw 3 young adults on a corner. One took off running, officer made a U-turn and chased him, eventually on foot. Police say kid turned and shot at officer 3 times, officer shot 17 times. Others say kid was not armed.
