Why is BO the only world leader not going to

Would love to hear the spin on this?;

1. He has a golf game he has to play...anyone getting married on a golf course tomorrow?
2. He's behind a major plot to kill all government leaders, so he's staying far, far away.
3. He doesn't like hanging out with minorities.
4. Hemorrhoids.
5. He's really behind on paperwork in the Oval Office and Sunday is the only day he can get anything done, what with all his vacations and golf games and hair appointments and manicures. He does his best plotting against Congress on Sundays.
6. Sunday is a Holy Day...wait, no, he's Muslim so that's not it. Is it a Muslim holiday?
7. They wouldn't let him in without a birth certificate.

#7 is my favorite - sm

Love your post. - Especially #6

I figured he doesn't want to go against his own.

He's not. 20 out of 50 leaders of European countries - won't be there

[ In Reply To ..]
along with another 145 leaders from the countries in the rest of the world, who also won't attend, including Vlad, the GOP's BFF. No spin. Just fact. His decline to attend could have something to do with the State Department's worldwide heightened caution alert to the "continued threat of terrorist attacks, demonstrations, and other violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests overseas."

Maybe he knows something we don't know. After all, he is the POTUS/CIC.

You would think the current President would have ... see msg. - Ugh

[ In Reply To ..]
a pretty damn good reason as he is, you know, the president and he might just know a tad more than us. He's made some pretty good calls on what to/what not to attend in his terms thus far, maybe he's made another good call this time, too.

It is also much more significant - that Muslim leaders

[ In Reply To ..]
(real ones, not imagined) like Mahmoud Abbas, King Abdullah and Turkey's PM Ahmet Davutoglu are showing up in solidarity, right alongside Netanyahu. Statements of condemnation from high-profile Islamist groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah Chief Nasrallah carry much more weight in this situation than any of France's allies. It's going to be an interesting day, to be sure.

With Hayat Boumeddiene still on the loose and high alert reports of "activated" terror sleeper cells in France, it just makes sense that there is a good reason for the president to stay put stateside. Sooner or later we will find out what's been going on behind the scene.

He is NOT Charlie. - SM

[ In Reply To ..]
He probably doesn't think this is terrorism. He still thinks Fort Hood was workplace violence.

He's probably deciding on which golf clubs to take to India while deciding what other sector of America is expendable to benefit them.

Why do I get the feeling that if he WERE going, - some would complain about that, too.

[ In Reply To ..]
So it's kind of a moot point, isn't it?

Jeans and golf are very important - political points

[ In Reply To ..]
The issues of security and diplomacy could be discussed. Did all of Europe and France send their heads of state to U.S. after 911? Could there possibly be reasons that we, the general public, don't know about the role of the President of the United States?

AG Eric Holder represented the U.S. in the Paris demonstration.

Might have been an interesting opportunity to see Netanyahu and Abbas there, condemining terrorism and supporting free speech at the same time. Should be interesting to see which turns "red" first.

If our president had shown up and walked arm in arm with millions of people and multiple other leaders, I would have been proud of him. I would have given him a lot of credit for doing that. Standing up peacefully yet firmly against terrorism...I would have applauded him for that. I was truly moved by this march in France. Our president either should have been there or sent someone to represent us there. Eric Holder was there....that wouldn't have cost much more since he was already there!!! So we had someone already there who could have represented us....why wasn't this done?

Sending the disgraced AG in his stead doesn't do much to bolster the image either.

The AG is not disgraced and it is not embarassing - that the leader of the world

Yes. He is disgraced. - F&F

He's great at attempting to cover up scandals and fanning the flames of racism. I call that disgraceful in addition to disrespectful of the title he holds.

He didn't send Alberto Gonzalez. - He sent Eric Holder.

His support for torture and the role he had in the turning a blind eye to Geneva Convention in response to the Torture memos led to policies that produced the images Cherif Kouachi claims motivated him to transform from a rapping, smoking, drinking, dating French national into an Islamic fundamental terrorist. Then there was that nasty business about trying to force his way into John Ashcroft's hospital room where he was being treated for pancreatitis and strong-arm him into reversing his position on the unconstitutional nature of the controversial NSA warrantless domestic surveillance program. The Inspector General found his firing of 7 US attorneys to be arbitrary, inappropriately political and fundamentally flawed. He finally resigned under the threat of impeachment.

That is what an embarrassing and disgraced attorney general looks like.

I voted for the dumb a-- the first time and the second time I decided it was not worth my time cause it wouldn't matter anyway. The only time they need the little people is to vote them in and then from there everything turns to lies. The rest of the time they represent the huge corporations and forget about the little people just as Obama did.

False - Try google

One quote is incomplete and out of context. The other quite innacurate.

If you have to misrepresent facts, distort quotes, and, frankly, lie to support your position, one wonders if your position can possibly be valid.

The actual quotes:

"The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. But to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see in the images of Jesus Christ that are desecrated, or churches that are destroyed, or the Holocaust that is denied."

The second is not talking about Muslims, but American citizens of Arab and Pakistani descent. The actual quote is:

"they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

If a bunch of white people (preferably white cops) - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
had shot several black people in France and there was looting, rioting, burning and destruction of people's property to protest against the shooting...not only would Obama have claimed one of the black people could have been his child but he would have made sure Holder attended while he was in France anyway as well as Al Sharpton to make sure that everyone knows how racist white people are and how evil white cops are.

Since this was a peaceful march against Islamic terrorism...Obama was a no show and told Holder not to attend. Good thing he won the Nobel Peace Prize. I guess he doesn't have to attend peaceful things like this since he already won and that whole thing about bringing everyone together was just a bunch of hogwash.
