However, our school district, like so many others, has to make cuts because there is only so much money in the budget and until the new budget is passed by the state they have to base it on the old budget. This bill would get rid of collective bargaining and make the teachers pay a minor percentage toward their benefits and would give local school districts and towns the ability to balance their budgets without being caught in a stranglehold by the unions. Our local paper stated that most of these jobs could have been saved had the bill passed in time, but unfortunately notices have to go out Monday. Walker was trying to avoid laying anyone off and he would have succeeded if only the democrats would quit whining like little kids and come back and vote. Now 12,000 people state wide are going to lose their jobs. It makes me wonder if perhaps the protestors were on the wrong side of the protest. They should have been pushing to pass the bill so that everyone could keep their jobs. Now a lot of people are going to be unemployed. I hope it was worth it.

The governor has no say in that so place the blame where it belongs, with the runaway democrats for stalling on voting in the new budget.

They actually blame unions for the existence of the middle class. Private wages are much lower than for those who belong to unions. They just want private companies to continue decreasing salaries of what's left of the middle class, relax laws on child workers and create a nation that exists only of the rich and the poor.
