Typically I decide to vote person by person, not party line.
Over the 50 some odd years I've watched and the high school and colllege courses I've taken, here's the gist of dems repubs and independents.
Democrats: Share some so everybody gets something. Keep the status quo because that is what got us where we are and we don't want the idle able bodied to take it away. Work hard and you'll rise to the level your own abilities let you.
Republicans: I worked hard for this, and you can too. Why should I share it with you when you have the same opportunity I had? It's wrong to support the ide able bodied. Don't give them anything. Now that I'm the status quo, i can take advantage of every loophole to get even richer. I got here, so you can too. Do ya think 15% is equitable tax on a few million dollars earned off the sale of your stocks? Yep, that's the capital gains tax. You can google it. The repubs don't want to increase it because nobody would invest in their companies on the stock market. Long term average yield is 8%.
Independents: Depends on what's happening now, maybe we need some adjusting.
No one party has screwed up this country. We all participated. The one thing I have against republicans is how dead set they are against any "entitlements" until they are eligible for them. Like my friend who truly is disabled, but would not apply (because he doesn't believe in it) but lives in his parents home and mooches off them. When he got Medicaid, he was right there getting everything he could from it. This is a diehard republican?
But then, there are the democrats who think Medicaid and food stamps are there so they don't have to work. Huh?
Point of fact, all parties have lost their moral compass.
