--if Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would the libs have approved?
--what if Bush had been the first pres to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference?
--what if Bush had give the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches? The libs would have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky.
--What if Bush had stated there were 57 states in the U.S., as Obama has done?
--if Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would the libs have brushed it off as a "minor slip" as they did for Obama? (ya gotta love it when they keep telling us Obama is "so smart"!)
--if Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day (as Obama did), would the libs have called Bush a hypocrite? (you know they would!)

I believe they're making up the part about the tea party people acting up. I recall when a radical group invaded Catholic Churches because they disagreed with Church teaching on homosexzuality. This is a story I learned about from the Catholic League--where was the media?? Covering up, of course! I could cite about 5,000 more similar examples.
Just like they're demonizing ALL Catholic priests due to a few (alleged) cases, and there is less abuse cases in the Church than in even Protestant churches, where there is married clergy. Some of the priests accused are dead! I personally know 3 priests FALSELY ACCUSED, but their names are smeared. Where is the media on that?? Also, not a word about the high abuse levels by public school teachers, and that statutory rape is constantly covered up in abortion clinics.

The frustrated senators are concerned, though, that some of the money is also paying for manufacturing jobs in China, and they are pushing a bill requiring that stimulus projects create jobs in the United States. They want the wind energy program stopped before the Chinese turbine manufacturers can collect any money.
In a statement Wednesday, the Energy Department insisted that the wind program does create jobs in the U.S. and said that "suspending it now would cause immediate layoffs of American workers at American manufacturing plants."

He got the healthcare bill passed, which is something no other politician has been able to do. He's going to help millions of people (myself included) with this. I'm sure that even Tea Partiers would benefit from this plan, but they're so against Obama that the best they can come up with is the admonishment to leave their Medicare alone, sadly oblivious to the fact that Medicare is what they call a "socialist" program, along with other programs, such as police and firefighters, etc.
He is trying to further the peace process by the agreement with Russia regarding nuclear weapons, something that Reagan and George Herbert Walker Bush also supported. (George W. was too busy trying to bomb the world into submission.) Of course, the Republicans are now against this (though they were in favor of it when a Republican president sat in the Oval Office), continuing their absolute refusal to even try to be bipartisan with this president.
He's trying to continue the stimulus package that Bush began, and he's getting bashed for that.
He's trying to continue the peace process in Israel, but he is the first president to hold Israel accountable for its bad behavior (continuing theft of land and building of new settlements on that stolen land, for example). To take that stand, in and of itself, requires a lot of courage because the Israeli lobby is huge (and the American money given to Israel is even more huge).
There is a LOT to deal with from the previous administration, and the fact that he was able to accomplish ANYTHING with total and complete obstruction from the Republicans is a miracle.
He's a human being, husband and father. I don't believe for one minute that he would aim to do anything to hurt his fellow Americans and/or his own family.
I believe he's going down in history as a very good president, and the Republicans could and should be exposed for their absolute refusal to cooperate in order to do what is best for this country. Of course, if Texas continues to write history books, future generations may never know the true history regarding Republican obstructionism.

Cantor was threatened on YouTube by Norman Leboon, who broadcast a diatribe that was based on Cantor's creed, not politics. He was arrested but found not to be fit for trial. This was a nonpartisan threat.
Charles Alan Wilson (the guy who made death threats against Senator Murray) had been under investigation by the FBI, was arrested, charged and is awaiting trial. Despite his denial, the FBI had recorded a phone conversations where he indicated he had attended the Tea Party rally in Yakima, WA.
Gregory Giusti (the guy who threatened Nancy Pelosi) was arrested, charged and is awaiting trial. This is the one whose mom says he was influence by Fox News.

The 24/7/365 obstruction, fear-mongering, slurs, slams, scripted and deliberate divisive rhetoric and hate campaigns that we have endured ever since Obama announced his plan to run for office, broadcast over the airways of Fox News night, after night after night for YEARS now, coupled with the reinforcement of their vitriolic and venomous messages plastered and proliferated all over the internet is QUITE A DIFFERENT MATTER.
Now we have the INEVITABLE outbreaks of violence surfacing, triggered by a legitimage democratic process that resulted in a vote some wingnuts found intolerable. Hello. This would be the time to stop and reflect upon what is happening and why, before it gets entirly out of hand. A brutally honest, if not blistering self-effacement is in order. If that does not occur, the only logical conclusion any rational person can draw would be that the escalation to the brink of violence that has the strong potential to lead to bloodshed (that is the logical next step to the types of threats we have seen) is all part of the plan.

At the moment, the perception is that of a gang of thugs who are not adult enough to step up to the plate and at least DENOUCE the threats and violence, let along take responsibility for the actions of your own party....not just Fox news, but ALL of you who have been party to this destructive dialog.
There is more than one way to skin a cat. Find a DIFFERENT way to achieve your goals of taking back the White House and Congress. Try developing a backbone which will allow you to recognize what is happening, propose a rational platform and identify your leadership (who continue to be invisible), then campaign your hearts out.

My take: Cantor's concern for himself was legitimate in view of the YouTube loon; his placing blame on the democrats, however, was outrageous. Also, I very much doubt he would have condemned the violence had he himself NOT been targeted by a threat. Nowhere in his statement did he acknowledge the violence against the dems.
Then we have Boehner's statement n the heels of the Tom Perriello potentially deadly Tea Party vandalism. You remember the democrat rep whose brother had the gas line into his house severed by vandals who got the address off of a TEA PARTY WEBSITE (can you say aiding and abetting)? Of course, you do. So Boehner's reply was:
"I know many Americans are angry over this health care bill, and that Washington Democrats just aren't listening. But, as I've said, violence and threats are unacceptable. That's not the American way. We need to take that anger and channel it into positive change. Call your Congressman, go out and register people to vote, go volunteer on a political campaign, make your voice heard - but let's do it the right way."
I kinda side with Tom Perreillo on this one, who found the statement, well...."outrageous", and would have preferred to hear something on the order of a call for a concerted effort to find the perp and put him in jail...and at least a TACIT ACKNOWLEGEMENT that the Tea Party was involved.
So yeah, I did hear those statements that happened BEFORE the death threat arrests. I have heard NO statements regarding these latest events. Have you? I didn't think so.
