More hypocrisy from the left.

Posted: Feb 16, 2015

You know the left.  Those "separation of church and state" folks who completely misunderstand and misapply that constitutional concept in order to keep God, or any mention of Him other than as a curse word, out of the public square.

But it's okay for them to try to use churches to get people to sign up for Obamacare.

When you hold two opposing ideas in your brain at the same time, it's called "cognitive dissonance", and the only way to do it without your brain exploding is to only allow one idea at a time to come out into the light.  If they ever both appear on-stage together, there's gonna be a fight.

Either the church should be concerned about and involved in the activities of government or it should not.

Make up your mind, lefties, because this doesn't pass the smell test.

Churches - MLS

Actually, since many churches preach politics from the pulpit, I believe they should be taxed. And I include all houses of worship in this.

Churches - anonie

[ In Reply To ..]
Churches preach the gospel if they are true churches, otherwise they are trying to keep from being jailed or something from the government.

I think it is pretty bad when a preacher cannot condemn sin from the pulpit without it being misconstrued as a political statement.

Sin is sin and if you believe in the Bible, your pastor should be able to preach about sin no matter who it may offend. It is supposed to be offensive so you will consider what you are doing and if it is really sin.

Using a church to promote Obamacare is ludicrous.

Problem is, most of the time that "gospel" is - nothing but lies by control freaks.

This administration always changes the rules to fit their socialist agenda. They've done it since day #1. They do it often. They'll continue to do it until January 20, 2017, which will be the best day this country will have seen since Obozo took office.

The separation of church and state is to prohibit - public institutions from

[ In Reply To ..]
foisting religious restrictions onto society when the individuals are seeking basic services, for example, education, court services, and government provided services.

To offer education about government services through an organized institution such as a church is one good way to educate the public on availability of services....just like offering tax assistance to seniors...and aide to obtain social security and Medicare...and aide to the homeless to obtain services in their communities.

Outrage misplaced perhaps because ACA not - recognized for A LAW!

[ In Reply To ..]
That's what it is, A LAW. It has not been repealed, and until it is, it seems perfectly permissible to make it accessible to all eligible to enroll.

Eligible does not seem like the correct word - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
to use when the citizens are FORCED to participate whether they want to or not or face a fine or jail.

Eligible? - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Eligible is a word frequently used with insurance, which is what enrollment in ACA provides.

ACA is similar to paying taxes and insuring your car to make it "legal" to drive (without which you can be fined or arrested), but there is a direct tangible benefit to ACA that perhaps we don't see with paying taxes and hopefully not too often do you "use" your car insurance.

The lefties in my state are equal opportunity lefties. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
They are, in fact, separation of church and state folks who believe in equal treatment of all religions.

IMO, the persecuted Christian meme is old and tired, and the right-wing pundits pushing that rhetoric have done nothing more than create a sect of victims who are quite content to use political means to impose their Christian beliefs on the nation at large via government, even as they live in fear of "no-go zones" and are afraid that someone else's religion is going to be imposed upon them...... which the liberals would never allow since they are equal opportunity lefties. Meanwhile, the so-called "war on Christianity" provides a very real cover for the so-called discriminated against Christian "victims" to actually discriminate against gays, women, and other minority religions that don't necessarily agree with the religious teachings and/or values of the Christian faith.

Speaking of hypocrisy, the Christian Right promotes candidates who want to legislate their religious belief that marriage is between one woman and one man (except some of the Mormon followers of Christ, of course, who believe in polygamy via multiple wives), and the Christian Right promotes candidates who want to legislate their religious belief that life begins at conception and that infants in the womb have a right to life, but they are doing everything they can to subvert legislation that provides life-saving medical care to infants outside the womb, children, and adults.

It's becoming increasingly more difficult to believe the political rhetoric from the right-wing hypocrisy machine that claims to vote their Christian "values." If you truly value life and follow the teachings of Christ, then the support of life-saving medical care should be a "no brainer," even if you disagree with having your taxes raised to pay for healthcare for lives that are somewhere between 1 minute and 65 years of age.

The lefties in my state are waiting for more handouts. - I'm tired of supporting them.

[ In Reply To ..]
And the leftwing loons in DC just keep wanting more and more freebies for their ilk.

Most of the conservative states are actually the takers. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Most of the blue states are giver states. Regardless of which state you actually live in, it's a more likely scenario that the lefties in your state are actually supporting the righties of America. Truth.

Besides, you say "I'm tired of supporting them" as if conservatives alone are bearing the burden for liberals state wide, when the more likely case is exactly the opposite. This conservative narrative of lumping all liberals into a deadbeat-type category is not only unbelievable, it's contrary to the new conservative narrative that liberals are the party of the rich elite 1% who are squeezing out the middle class of America. :)

Get used to it. As long as the Pubs think it's OK - to offshore work, I will be on the dole.

[ In Reply To ..]
At least until I'm old enough to officially retire, anyway. Even then, I'll probably still qualify for food stamps and subsidized housing, because while I was working as an MT, I didn't make enough to guarantee a decent amount of Social Security. Oh well... it's the Republicans' bed, let them lie in it.
Actually the democrats have been in charge and they are the ones - who think its ok to offshore
[ In Reply To ..]
Been like that since they took power. Just sucks that because of them our jobs are being off-shored.

Gee thanks Billy boy.
It was George H. W. Bush that signed NAFTA - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
in December 1992 along with Canadian Prime Minister Mulroney and Mexican President Salinas. When Clinton became president, he added labor and environmental provisions and the bill passed Congress in November 1993 with 132 Republicans and 102 Democrats in the House and 34 Republicans and 27 Democrats in the Senate.

You can thank "Billy boy" all you want, but NAFTA was bipartisan legislation that was supported by 166 Republicans and 129 Democrats.

Doing the math: 75.79% of all Republicans voted for NAFTA, while 41.08% of all Democrats voted for NAFTA. So while the GOP and Tea Party keep whining about NAFTA, it is instructive to note the actual vote.

They do keep records of these things, you know? It helps when people get all partisan and remember things incorrectly and believe the propaganda and fabrications of the right-wing conservative media that likes to deflect blame to President Clinton.
Offshoring started long before Clinton was - in office.

Dangerous Hypocrisy Of The RightJun 04, 2015
The rhetoric of religious freedom and the 'war on Christianity' -- so often used as a justification for discrimination against LGBTQ people -- has nothing to do with religion or faith. While it is painted to look like an argument for the freedom of conscience, it is a medieval attempt by a group of people with money and power to assert control. How do I know this? Just ask yourself how many times right-wing 'religious freedom' activists stood up for the rights of Muslims. Oh, ...
