should not be built near ground zero in NY....I would never "take care" of that by violence. I would like to think that out of respect for the people murdered by Muslim terrorists on 9/11....they would stop this nonsense. Why near ground zero? The people building the mosque may not be violent...but just the idea of a mosque pertaining to the faith that lead to the extremism that caused 9/11...a mosque, IMO, should not be near ground zero. Do you not see what is wrong with that statement? Do you not think that some of those people working in those towers were not Muslim as well? Like it or not, there is a very strong community of Muslim Americans in this country who contribute to this nation's prosperity as much as anyone else, and deserve the respect that goes along with it. This is not just a mosque -- it is also a community center with an activity center, swimming pool, etc.

I never said all Muslims were terrorists. I'm sure many in this country are not. However, mosques do present a hiding place for those who are terrorists and come to the US. You cannot deny that terrorists have come to the US, lived here, attended a local mosque, etc. and then went on to commit a violent crime.

I just think there are too many folks who have little in the way of critical thinking skills. It's fine to have differing opinions, but it's ridiculous to hold an opinion (on either side) without having a valid reason for it. That's why I keep harping on the need for critical thinking, which is obviously in extremely short supply here.

As for McVeigh, he was tacked on to the lists already mentioned above (basically that ALL racial, ethnic, and religious groups have their terrorists and most, if not all, are victims of various groups themselves).

I have been sat here watching Nancy Grace. A 10-year-old boy stabbed and killed his 12-year-old best friend, the 12-year-old was apparently trying to break up a fight or something when it happened and was defending his friend. Some blankedy blank people are sending mail to my address, my married name and get this, hyphened with the husband I WAS married to who died 10 years ago!! I am so ticked about this. What I want to know, know I can send back to the people sending but do they have to pay on their end for this? I hope so. I am constantly getting mail made out like this and I never had a hyphenated name in my life much less 1 with a dead husband's name on the end. ...
