Just coming to this realization...

Something just struck me today. I have a feeling that the truth about the two major candidates for president lies somewhere around the facts that Mitt Romney isn't as bad as his gaffes and appearances might indicate, and Barack Obama deserves a lot more credit than his opponents give him.

Disagreement has always been part of political discussion in this country, but I hate where our political climate has taken us--no one DARES to say anything good about "the other side." But we all know that not a single human being is all bad or all good.

I don't really post here all that often. As soon as baseless accusations or unproven myths start flying, it's not worth the effort to engage in a discussion, anyway, so I try to drop out at that point. No matter what good aspects there surely are to Mitt Romney, I still plan to vote for Barack Obama; and I suspect that most people here probably can't be swayed, either. It isn't at all likely to change my vote, but I'm still anxious to the debates....I'm just so fascinated by politics.

Cassie, I agree. Although Romney's continual gaffs are - dismaying, I like his lack of talent for posturing

lying, acting, etc, and occasionally interpret his "gaffs" a lot more positively than than many Republicans seem to. (Though I definitely wish his promise to legalize torture again was only a silly slip--he lost a very quick and permanent 5000 points there, and he didn't have that many to begin with.)

As for our current president, some unfortunate lying in a vegetative state isn't half as incompetent as a certain sort of person enjoys imagining Obama. :)

I'm looking forward to the debates, too, although I've already voted. Romney supporters should feel comforted that he already has 20 debates under his belt from this primary season alone, plus all the ones from his first run for the presidency.

Obama has made a TON of gaffes and now lied about - Libya.. pass by the media... a sham and shame !!

I have heard multiple times republicans stating the Obama is "a nice guy." If no one dared to say anything good about the other side, why are they continually starting their criticism of Obama with a praise of him being a nice guy. Just a thought.
