Coming soon to a theater near you - (sm)

That's it for me.  I've had it with all you liberals who make this idiocy possible.  I'm sure it will be no time at all before Mr. Global President makes this the law of our land.  Link

Demographic tides may turn Texas purple or blue. - Californian

Hold on to your 10-gallon hats, Texas. You won't be red for long!

of democratic sensibilities is a crock. Governors of Texas include 39 democrats, 6 republicans (all but 2 since Reagan), 1 Unionist (!) and 1 independent. BTW, the Democrats' dominance of Texas political "trends" predates this idiotic Marxist-Leninist wingerspeak by 162 years.

Would be glad to recycle these statistics as many times as is necessary in response to the appearance of any ownership claims you feel inclined to stake in the future. Toodles.
None of that matters now. - I bet I know which part of the state you're f

I know all that. You aren't getting the point. Don't think you can use the words Democrat and sensibilities in the same sentence.

state demographic trends that tanked the national election for your party TWICE IN THE LAST 4 YEARS, in support of a flash-in-the-pan, relatively recent political phenomenon some would call a bump-in-the-road "fluke," is an offense of epic proportions many proud Texans will take to the mat.

They live all over our glorious state and are not confined to urban areas. Their future coalitions will not be strictly defined by race and ethnicity. For example, Governor Big Hair will be creating a brand new large class of those falling outside that group if he follows through with threats to reject funding for ObamaCARE. The paleolithic approach the state legislature has taken toward educational funding and content is no small factor. Other parameters will include, but are not limited to, cohorts with declining CVAPs (Citizen Voting Age Populations), intrastate migration patterns spurred by economic trends, particularly in high-tech sectors, that bring with them increased numbers of those with higher education, and that ever-present significant factor of enthusiastic voter turn-out, which just got a big fat shot in the arm in the wake of 2012's national results, and the very REAL reasons behind it wingers so steadfastly deny.

Yep. Once again, Fox has turned a blind eye to demography - in this report

[ In Reply To ..]
It's BRUSSELS, where they have less than 5% regular church attendance (whose members are not bent on installing a Christian theocracy in their city's government), Moslems that number 30%-35%, and a large Jewish and non-Christian minority population living alongside significant numbers of atheists and agnostics. Looks like race is not the only parameter on the globe that determines the upward direction of minority voting block coalitions within the political realm and the social composition at-large, all of which impact the prevailing perceptions of what is reasonably INCLUSIVE policy.

The GOP's embrace of anti-Islam bigotry as manifest in its Sharia law plank paranoia was recently rejected. This implicit apples and oranges die-hard extremists' comparison between a city of less than 2 million with a vastly different demographic composition, to a nation of more than 311.6 million is another case of the impotence of Fox purveyors of electorate ignorance that dashed their "landslide" delusions of grandeur.

So what? These things gravitate to our country sooner or later - backwards typist

[ In Reply To ..]
I can't get into it now because I need to go, but this has happened in our country too last year, where some people complained about the tree being called a Christmas Tree in some states and towns. I can't remember where right now, but I'll look for it tomorrow if I have time to get back here.

That's been happening for a long time. - RC
[ In Reply To ..]
It's not anything new. There's a lot of advertisements for "holiday trees," etc.

Christmas is such an all-encompassing holiday, non-Christians of the States celebrate the season too, because, well, the whole country basically shuts down anyway and it's not like we can carry on with life as usual.

Some people call it a holiday tree. I call it a Christmas tree because I don't really care WHAT it's called, though I feel somewhat hypocritical doing so, since I'm certainly not celebrating the birth of Christ when I buy one. Yet I still call it that, some choose not to, and everybody wins. Especially the economy.

I wonder what would they do if people protested that it's offensive not to have one. My sister said back where she lives that one small town who since my mom was growing up, put up Christmas decorations and played Christmas Carols, so when you were walking down the street you would hear the carols and just was really pretty and festive and fun to go. Then they had a lawsuit. Someone who was of no religion, who didn't even live in the town was suing to try and get the lights and music removed. He said it was offensive. Luckily the whole town showed up and they said it was offensive not to have it and it's offensive to have someone else dictate what they can and cannot have. The town won.

You have to be willing to believe this nonsense. I wonder if you would care to investigate why you are so easily manipulated. "Fox Nation" quoting a story from "The Right Perspective" is hardly journalism.

The city's TOURIST BOARD commissioned the piece. It has nothing to do with Muslims.

"There have been attempts to stir racial tensions, with some falsely blaming the switch from the usual real Christmas tree on offended Muslims."

Philly Theater Company To Stage Musical ComedyJul 08, 2017
Normally, when we get a press release from a local theater company about its latest work, the press release includes, you know, the name of the play. But Philly theater company Lightning Rod Special bucked that trend this week went they sent us a notice announcing its musical comedy about abortion, which debuts in August at the Painted Bride. “We were going with ‘Fetus Chorus,’” explains co-creator Alice Yorke, pictured below. “But there were a lot of mixed feelings about it. Whether you like the author or the paper it is from, this story is what I fear is happening to our country. Just read it through without thinking about who you support or why.  Try to recognize that our country is being torn apart from threats that are being made about what will ha ...

This Is What I See Coming For WisconsinMar 17, 2011
I have copied and pasted something someone wrote that pretty much sums up Scott (slime) Walker's intentions.   Diane Ravitch has it in a nutshell. Of Scott Walker, she writes: He expects that over time, most public workers will stop paying dues, especially now that they have to pay more for their healthcare and pension benefits. And thus will he cripple, perhaps permanently, a perennial political opponent. If Gov. Walker succeeds, there will be no organized voice to oppose hi ...

Something just struck me today.  I have a feeling that the truth about the two major candidates for president lies somewhere around the facts that Mitt Romney isn't as bad as his gaffes and appearances might indicate, and Barack Obama deserves a lot more credit than his opponents give him.   Disagreement has always been part of political discussion in this country, but I hate where our political climate has taken us--no one DARES to say anything good about "the other side."   ...
