Regarding mail coming to a wrong name at my home

Some blankedy blank people are sending mail to my address, my married name and get this, hyphened with the husband I WAS married to who died 10 years ago!! I am so ticked about this. What I want to know, know I can send back to the people sending but do they have to pay on their end for this? I hope so. I am constantly getting mail made out like this and I never had a hyphenated name in my life much less 1 with a dead husband's name on the end.

getting that were sent to her address with someone else's name. It would probalby work in this situation also.

She was mail whatever it was back by addressing an NEW envelope (not any prepaid that was sent, if there was one) back to the people, use THEIR address as a return address, apply NO POSTAGE, and then when she was out drop it in a public mailbox. They have to pay postage due when it arrived at the office. She also wrote on the actual envelope this was no one she knew and they had the wrong address. After a couple of times, the mail stopped.

this particular company and returned mail as others listed, when that did not work, she started sending it back postage due and they stopped after 1 or 2 returns.

I always just write on the outside of the - sm

envelope RETURN TO SENDER, PERSON NOT AT THIS ADDRESS or something like that, then just let the mailman pick it back up. When they get enough returned mail, they take you off the list because it costs money....

Sigh. I hate that kind of crap. My neighbor/good friend sometimes gets junk mail in her husband's name. Problem is, he died February 1 of this year, so she just writes on the envelope "person deceased" and puts it back in the mailbox with the flag up.

some idio. decided to put my new married name with the deceased husband of 10 years on the end of my married name and I never had a name that was Smith-Jones or the like. I have no idea where this came from but others have joined in so now I get several pieces of mail just like this from many places. I am definitely going to try the above suggestions. At wits end with this crap.

You should check your credit report too then sm - ChiaPet

Sometimes mailing lists are culled from names and addresses listed in info from the 3 credit bureaus. If you see the incorrect name listed or multiple names for current address, call the agencies and get it fixed.

They have my real name spelled wrong, the letters are not all there and then that dead husband's name on the end. Even on whitepages they had the same thing. I am not worried about ID theft at all. These are people trying to sell me something that have gotten my nonname from the idiotic cable company.

For years, I believed that Hilary would have been a better president than Obama - now I question that. Hi. I am 66 years old, a med. transcr. for 16 years, no job since February, unfortunately very few friends.
