Stupak's Vote Bought for $726,409 Airports?

Posted: Mar 22, 2010

Yet another whore politician selling his vote.  What a surprise (not!).

Obviously there is not a single principled person in Washington.

Nobody changes their vote because they are "promised" abortions won't be funded. I mean c'mon man, how gullible does he think the country is. We are not that stupid.

Isn't there any decent people in Washington anymore? I guess not.

We watched the speech Obama gave yesterday trying to embarrass those who were not going to vote for it. He really has the brain washing technique down. Why am I not surprised.

What kind of satisfaction comes from making such - groundless accusations?

The FAA appropriations process was initiated June 2009. Competitive bids were submitted over a given amount of time, evaluated and awarded in accordance with prescribed criteria. This is routine business as usual.

Trying to insinuate that the timing of an announcement of funding proposals that have been in the pipline for months and months and their subsequent grant awards has anything whatsoever to do with HCR or the executive order discussions between Obama and Stupak is an exercise in futility based on common garden variety ignorance.

If he were going to sell his vote out for virtual pennies, he certainly would not have done it over funding he was already slated to receive. You guys just can't stand it when Obama steps up to the plate and exhibits the necessary leadership just in the nick of time to coax the genie out of the bottle. Outstanding job by all those involved to thwart the best efforts of the pubs to kill the bill.

This is typical conservative nonsense - Trying to create a situation where there is none.

Sad, very sad, but this is all they have left to resort to now...

up to the moment he changed his no vote to yes after being reassured by the language in the executive order.  She continues to spin her web of deceit as we speak.  I have stood in amazement for the better part of this day to witness pub after pub after pub get up and lie, lie, lie like a dog, to what end is anybody's guess.  I will be celebrating later this evening after the vote count, if for no other reason that this is becoming a closed chapter and soon enough will be fadi ...

HURRAH! STUPAK THE STUPID IS RETIRING!!Apr 09, 2010
Stupak, who allowed himself to be rolled by the most primitive of fake promises (an "executive order" not to allow federal money to pay for abortions, when the legislation would obviously take precedence), is expected to announce his retirement on Friday. "Vote and Run" is in play this midterm, folks. The Demcowards are heading for the hills, and those who aren't are totally pathetic in their "defense" of the unconstitutional, unAmerican, unconscionable, immoral, liberty-killing, Washing ...

For Anyone Who Has Ever Bought A Home, When MovingMay 04, 2015
any construction or upgrades of any kind? My child is in the process of buying a home. I have bought 2 in my lifetime. The first one was built in the 40s. It was a HUD, repossessed and nothing was needed to make it livable. The second was a fairly new home, 4 years old, and it also was move in ready. My daughter has had a terrible time trying to get the people selling to turn on utilities so it could be inspected. Yesterday told me inspection day. No water on, the inspector could not check the A ...

I finally realized I do not need to follow Martha Stewart or those other people around and need to have everything in the world to show how great my housekeeping and entertaining abilities are (and they are both still terrible anyway).  I  have 2 relatives who live a long way away, a brother and a niece and she has no children.  I have no children.  I have been a widow for 30 years.  Now tell me why I need 3 full sets of dishes (nice china, etc.) with service for 12.&nb ...

Norway Killer Bought Ammunition Clips From USJul 30, 2011
The man who confessed to killing 68 people in Norway last week says he bought the ammunition clips used in his shooting spree from the U.S by mail order. Anders Behring Breivik wrote in his 1,500-page manifesto that he spent $500 for 10 30-round clips. Clips with more than three rounds are banned from sale in Norway. Rep. Elizabeth Warren Bought Foreclosed HomesMay 27, 2015
Nearly two years after Veo Vessels died, her daughter, 70-year-old Mary Frances Hickman, decided to sell the home her mother had left to her. A sprawling brick house in Oklahoma City’s historic Highland Park neighborhood, it was built in 1924, just a year after Mary’s birth. Decades later, one of Vessels’ great-grandchildren fondly recalls the wood and tile floors, the fish pond, the butler’s quarters, and the multi-car garage where children played house. “It was really, really n ...

Regardless of whether or not you will vote for the office of president, there are other offices which need votes. There are issues of various types, local and state issues, that need a vote as well. In my state of Ohio, each local county PAYS for the cost in that county. Whether anybody shows up or not, the polls are still open, the poll workers still get paid. The polling machines are still rented. In short, there is a minimum cost to run the election. In my state, if there is not enough of ...

Why Romney Does Not Get My VoteOct 23, 2012
Some of you may be too young to remember the 1970s and the ERA.  You also may have never heard of Sonia Johnson, a Mormon women who was excommunicated from the Mormon church in the late 1970s for supporting the ERA and equal rights for women.  I had the occasion to speak with her after she wrote a book called "From Housewife to Heretic."  Anyway, long story short, I have firsthand experience as a former member of the Mormon church (and a very loyal, dedicated, and hardworking one ...

Why Do We Vote On Tuesday? Well,Nov 05, 2012
From Smithsonian.com: "The answer, it turns out, has a lot to do with buggies and farmers markets. The Founding Fathers met at the Constitutional Convention in 1787, NPR explains, but at the end of the meeting they still had not resolved a number of questions about how to run an entire nation. One of those issues involved the timing of federal elections. As a quick fix, they decided to leave it to individual states to set their own voting days, which led to several decades of &ldqu ...
