Racist Michelle stirs up a hornet's nest at (sm)

UPDATE: 05/11/2015 7:50

Many posts were removed today, particularly under the "Gulf Nations" thread, to include the moderators.

I'd brought up that somebody created confusion by PS-ing my comment under the Ben Carson thread as if they were its author on Saturday, and that I'd left a comment that if it happened again, I'd let others know it wasn't me and report them (as you'd warn a child before consequence because it was a childish act).

Mine was removed, the PS stayed, and the moderator left a comment today under the Gulf Nation thread that the Ben Carson comment was removed because I'd "threatened another commenter" that I'd "gang up on them". This accusation ha now been deleted.

However, here is both the removed comment and the moderator's email stating why they deleted it and you can see, it says nothing close to that. Somebody's lying, but it ain't me. Why?

This is now the 5th comment I've added this update to, 4 have already disappeared without reason given.

Since Obama came from Chicago and calls it his home, that is not racists. Saying the name of a gang is not racist either.

Every single sentence that anyone says is being turned into a faux "racial slur". My uncle calls my aunt mama, my father calls my mom mama. Mama is not a racial slur no matter how many people want to try and say it is. You just can make up stuff. Next thing we'll hear is papa is racist, mommy is racist, grandma is racist, etc, etc.

I might agree that the situation was "under control." Many knew better than to make any waves if they wished any peace at all. The problem is, as the Bush years continued and the poor got poorer, those same people realized they had nothing to lose. They might as well argue for equality as they were being forgotten and trampled in the current process.

I understand how equality for everyone can be a scary thing for those who have been at the top (and top is relative). I have often thought this all boiled down to an animalistic pecking order, whether people would be willing to recognize that or not. The competition amongst people under the guise of "right and wrong" has always amused me---then they throw in a dose of Christian and anything can be justified.

your point? do you have a point with this?

We could spend the rest of lives naming people who have said something about someone. The point is that national media has felt it appropriate to openly criticize in a derogatory way with racist attributes the wife of the President of the United States, who is black. She has a point to make and a platform to make it from.

That is really the problem isn't it, that she has a pulpit to speak from and people are listening?

Tuskegee is historically black. Translation? Hornet's nest = whites not even there - using "mama" as race slur (update)

[ In Reply To ..]
Tuskegee University is historically a predominantly African American university. Discussing how it felt to view racist cartoon depictions of herself with an Afro and a machine gun from New Yorker magazine is appropriate, when speaking to young African Americans about obstacles they'll have to overcome. It was an uncharacteristically more vulnerable (and therefore brave) thing for her to do, IMO. Since the audience was mostly black and in agreement, the only hornet's nest then would be white men using "mama" as a racial slur, stirring up their own nest over it.

However, it is also interesting the president's wife is being attacked in the post over saying something one time Al Sharpton says every day, at college speeches and otherwise. Why, because she's a woman "speaking out of turn?" Or is it because she showed vulnerability, for a change, and some racist misogynists think that means it's open season on black (AND female) wives of politicians?

With women helping out this viewpoint and not realizing it's an attack on women, too (that is, if "Mama" is really a woman;)

Apparently the OP also forgot to mention that the article said "Obama also stressed that those experiences were “not an excuse” to “lose hope.”

[ In Reply To ..]
This post AND the next clearly have racist innuendos. Since nothing was done about the first, those who are clearly protecting racist in this first thread are pushing the boundaries by writing a second and now even coming after the commenter I'm replying to within it.

If people have to handle racism on their own, they will, and different people confront it differently. There is not "right way" to handle clear, belligerent and blatant racism pretending it's not being racist.

The important thing is it's confronted and made clear the social consequence for racism is social disapproval NOT being forced to be removed/banned.

Because removing/banning racists just makes racists more resentful and claim THEIR private civil rights are being discriminated against.

Sarah never belonged in national politics. Somebody really made a mistake when they dug that one up and they have been fighting to put that genie back in the bottle ever since! Having promoted her as Vice-President was one of the more damaging things the Republicans have done. They had beaten back their crazies pretty well before that, but things got a little confusing when it came in the form of a woman that became sanctioned as a Republican candidate.

Palin was an idiot who didn't deserve the office - of dogcatcher, let alone Vice Pres.

[ In Reply To ..]
If her children were "vilified", it's most likely because she set them up for it. As for her church, maybe someone up in Alaska decided that religion, especially religion in politics, isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Racism is thru the roof in Amerika now because of NObama. He was involved in several incidents where he should have kept his mouth shut -- proving he's a racist and fueling the fire. White liberals also fuel the fire by pandering to him and other blacks. I rarely hear whites mentioning a person's race, unless it's a liberal, yet blacks do constantly. Racism will never die until they stop mentioning a person's race.
