I cannot stand this "dude" wife. Can't wait till they leave. This is the lowest class effort to undermine Trump because their side lost. (What a stupid move for Obama's to support Hillary Clinton anyway.)

"We feel the difference now. See, now, we are feeling what not having hope feels like," she told Oprah Winfrey in an interview, a clip of which aired on CBS on Friday.

Well Michelle for the first time in 8 years I have hope. You insult not only President-elect Trump, but you insult Trump supporters, but you are too ignorant to realize that.

The Obama's could have gone away gracefully, but they are leaving ugly thanks to Michelle. Can you imagine George Bush and his wife doing this to the Obama's? In a stunning interview with Oprah Winfrey, First Lady Michelle Obama admitted that her husband’s presidency, which began with a promise to usher in hope and change, failed to leave Americans with a lasting sense of hope for the future. Clips of the interview, which is scheduled to air on CBS next week, were released by the broadcast network on Friday morning.

“Your husband’s administration, everything, the election, was all about hope,” Winfrey asked the soon-to-be-former First Lady. “Do you think that this administration achieved that?”

“Yes,” Obama tentatively answered. After a long a pause, she elaborated, “I do, because we feel the difference now.”

She then contradicted her strained answer and noted that despite everything the president accomplished in the White House over the last eight years, many Americans nonetheless still have no hope.

“See, now we’re feeling like what not having hope feels like,” Obama said in an apparent reference to the 2016 election results.

During the interview, Obama bounced back and forth between saying her husband’s administration had indeed achieved the hope and change he had promised during the 2008 campaign, that this sense of hope created by the 44th president was no longer present due to the election results, and that hope was necessary to survive.

At one point, the First Lady seemed to intimate that hope is derived not necessarily from faith, peace and prosperity, constitutionally protected freedoms, or even government programs, but from whatever particular individual happens to inhabit the White House at any given time. She said people react to their leaders the same way children’s react to their parents: if a parent overreacts, the child will learn to overreact. If a parent is hopeful, the children will be hopeful, she said.

“What do you give your kids if you can’t give them hope?” she asked.

“I feel like Barack has been [the calm parent who doesn’t overreact to small things] for the nation in ways that people will come to appreciate,” Obama told Winfrey. “Having a grown-up in the White House who can say to you in times of crisis and turmoil, ‘Hey, it’s going to be okay.'”

“What do we do if we don’t have hope, Oprah?” Obama asked again at the conclusion of the clip.

Over half the country is downright scared of what is going to happen with Trump and his cabinet. We see his childish tweets. Somewhere in this board somebody said they are glad the adults are at the helm now (or something like that). Really!!

I belong to a wonderful facebook community called Pantsuit Nation. Every day actual Americans tell their personal stories of the challenges they face if they are different, if they are gay, if they are immigrants, after Trump has been elected. There are some real pieces of work out there, there are a lot of racists acting out and anti-Muslim, etc. Others tell stories about how they stand up to the bullies.

It is really a revelation to read these stories every day and hopefully I will have the courage to stand up in public if I see such bullies or even to stand up to your own family about how you feel about this absolute jerk being elected president, sometimes that's not easy either.

It is a frightening experience to be a Muslim, a Jew, an African American, more than ever since his election has brought out the worst in his supporters.

Michelle Obama is the most beautiful, the most gracious, the most intelligent and accomplished first lady I have seen in my lifetime, and I will be sad to see her and President Obama go.

If you watched the interview, Michelle gave full marks to Laura Bush and her team, how she was supported through her entire term by the former first lady and her staff. She also voiced her intent to do the same for Melania Trump, for her to call her whenever she needed any support.

Michelle Obama's speech at the DNC made mention of Trump's statement about being proud of sexual assault. It was a horrible statement, and it affected many women, like it or not. It's not a lie, it's not something to be made little of for many who have experienced it, it is something they have to live with, seeing as president a man who has this history. Like it or not, it's the truth, and it's pretty bad.

Trump did NOT win the popular vote, he lost by 3 million.

I really hope he sinks and I hope he sinks on his own before he has a chance to sink this country. He is unpresidently awful and I wish he would unpresident himself.

I do believe that the Obamas will break the mold for being outspoken against the next president. I can't imagine Laura Bush going on national television and whining about Obama taking office. Way more class than that. I was upset too when we failed to oust Obama and instead elected him to a second term. The difference was that we didn't dare speak out because the only reason we didn't want Obama for president was that we were racist....at least that's what the news media and the other side said. I remember the hope that I had when Obama was elected the first time - I didn't vote for him, but I knew it was momentous and I prayed for him that he would be a good leader and I would be happy with him. That hope was dashed the first time he interjected himself in a police versus black guy matter and wholeheartedly threw the policeman under the bus....that's when things went downhill from my perspective.
