Obama's rolling out the big guns to distract (sm)

Posted: Sep 9, 2012

from lousy job numbers.  His new Medicare study says seniors in 2023 will have to shell out $60,000 of their own money to pay for it in R&R's plan.  This man is a pathological liar and a psychopath.  He will say anything.  If Stanley Ann were still alive, he'd be throwing her under the bus too.

;

No he's not. The report was based on CBO data and was NOT - put out by the Obama administration.

Don't much care for cold hard facts, do ya? Here's the read. It's laid out in simple, straightforward terms and is a whole lot more credible than your "big guns" bluster. It will help explain why Romney (on whiteboard day) and Ryan never talk about future voucherized Medicare recipients and/or what Medicaid beneficiaries should dread, once that program is slashed and "block granted" into oblivion.

http://www.americanprogressaction.org/issues/healthcare/report/2012/08/24/33915/increased-costs-during-retirement-under-the-romney-ryan-medicare-plan/

You call "American Progress Action" the - CBO? LOLOL (sm)

[ In Reply To ..]
It's actually one of the George Soros-funded entities. Where is some real CBO data? Got any?

They sourced their report. Did I doubt their findings or - question the CBO? No. Why?

[ In Reply To ..]
Because the conclusions they drew made sense to me and because discussion on the effect of the Ryan plan on voters under 55 has been conspicuously absent from both candidate's rhetoric. I also read the Tax Policy embedded link which more than adequately walked through the logic behind the increased costs for those slated to be impacted by voucherization. Don't have the link hand, but once I get my first cup of java, I'll come back and post the link.
Not buying this for a minute. - nm

No problem. All I'm interested in is to get the - info out there so

whomever is interested can look at it if they are so inclined and make up their own minds. The Tax Policy Center report I read also sources the same CBO data that the APA did. It does not become any more or less credible just because HuffPo or Breitbart relays the same fundamental data. CBO is hard to argue with on this. I'll get the link to the 11-page TPC report shortly.
Here's a TPC link to a critique on MR's tax plan that - embodies Medicare fallout

CBO would probably be best if you want people to believe it.
CBO data is also included in the APA report and, in fact, - is their main source. nm

Especially the part about attacking sources and refraining from posting nonpolitical commentary? Why not show me specifics in the TPC report that you consider to be "lies." In other words, try again.
Yes, but people need to know what the Brookings - Institute is. Liberal think tank. (sm)

As long as they know that, it matters not to me what they believe or don't believe.

No, simply replying to a post. Poster wanted to "get info - out there." So do I. (sm)

It's the same as a "rebuttal" of sorts, isn't it? People should always know both sides of a story - shouldn't they?
Feel free to post your own links but pleaserefrain from criticising - links posted by others. nm

How about the Center on Budget Policy and Priorities? Are they too a liberal think tank? Here's their take on Ryan plan cost shifts to beneficiaries, very similar to the TPC analysis.

Wow. The effort to stymie - info flow is stunning.

This is an issue I can speak to from first-hand experience, having lived in Syria long enough to understand the direct and indirect effects of media censorship. It does not stop the population for accessing it, especially since the advent of the internet information age. It does not stop them from understanding the palpable domination that lies beneath the effort, nor does it stop them from observing, feeling, speculating, discussing differing viewpoints, forming opinions, and acting on the repression. It may take a little longer, but they GET THERE. In the case of Syria, we can clearly see how this unfortunate failed policy has been playing out all over the country in their streets, behind the scenes in neighborhoods, mosques and private homes....even in the most remote regions of the hinterlands. It has produced rebellion, revolution, genocidal carnage, death, injury, and destruction of private and commercial property, infractructure and ultimately the government's ability to hold power or even function on the most basic levels.

Whether the TPC/Brookings Institute/APA report is seen as gospel or bias is not the issue here, it's access to information that, despite the best efforts to the contrary, WILL BE revealed, assessed, judged, and accepted as FACT by those who are paying attention. It boils down to Bill Clinton's casual reference simple arithmetic.

Whether R&R folks want to admit it or not, there is a REAL PROBLEM with their "wait-and-see"/slam Obama approach to policy campaign rhetoric. In this case, the refusal to talk about the effect their plan will have on future Medicare recipients under age 55 is an OPEN INVITATION for publication of these studies and, in turn, tends to focus attention on the issue, rather than covering it up or detracting from it. It also elevates it to the level of a major campaign issue that will not escape even the most out-of-touch voters. We all have parents and grandparents and we all aspire to reach Medicare age someday, so it is an issue that holds the potential to shape and sway millions of votes.

Romney's revenue "neutrality" claims have been debunked by highly respected sources, only two of which I have cited, often used by bipartisan economists and reps. Calling those sources names does nothing to change that fact.
Whatever you say. - Stymie

Texas Rolling BlackoutsFeb 03, 2011
I'm on the east coast, and the majority of us use natural gas or propane for heat, so we've never experienced rolling blackouts in the winter.  This may sound like a stupid question, but why are Texans experiencing the blackouts?  Do the majority of businesses use electric heat?  Why would they be using more electricy now than when it's 120 degrees in the summer?  (hence, my stupid question)  I heard they had to buy some power from Mexico.  ...

Guns And Intrinsic Danger. Or, "guns Don't Kill, People Kill"Dec 15, 2012
If I were at a party, left the adults and put a nerf ball in the familiy room where the children were playing, nobody'd think anything of it. If I put a loaded gun in there, every adult would rush to get it before the children did. THAT IS BECAUSE GUNS ARE INTRINSICALLY DANGEROUS. The only thing that changed was the presence of a gun, but no one would claim it was actually the children who were dangerous. Suicides by gun are much more likely to result in death than ANY of the other usual ...

Americans Never Give Up Your Guns!Jan 10, 2013
Americans never give up your guns 28.12.2012   By Stanislav Mishin  These days, there are few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt and culturally degenerating USA, but at least so far, one thing remains: the right to bear arms and use deadly force to defend one's self and possessions.
