Americans never give up your guns

Americans never give up your guns. 48982.jpeg

These days, there are few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt and culturally degenerating USA, but at least so far, one thing remains: the right to bear arms and use deadly force to defend one's self and possessions.

This will probably come as a total shock to most of my Western readers, but at one point, Russia was one of the most heavily armed societies on earth. This was, of course, when we were free under the Tsar. Weapons, from swords and spears to pistols, rifles and shotguns were everywhere, common items. People carried them concealed, they carried them holstered. Fighting knives were a prominent part of many traditional attires and those little tubes criss crossing on the costumes of Cossacks and various Caucasian peoples? Well those are bullet holders for rifles.

Various armies, such as the Poles, during the Смута (Times of Troubles), or Napoleon, or the Germans even as the Tsarist state collapsed under the weight of WW1 and Wall Street monies, found that holding Russian lands was much much harder than taking them and taking was no easy walk in the park but a blood bath all its own. In holding, one faced an extremely well armed and aggressive population Hell bent on exterminating or driving out the aggressor.

This well armed population was what allowed the various White factions to rise up, no matter how disorganized politically and militarily they were in 1918 and wage a savage civil war against the Reds. It should be noted that many of these armies were armed peasants, villagers, farmers and merchants, protecting their own. If it had not been for Washington's clandestine support of and for the Reds, history would have gone quite differently.

Moscow fell, for example, not from a lack of weapons to defend it, but from the lying guile of the Reds. Ten thousand Reds took Moscow and were opposed only by some few hundreds of officer cadets and their instructors. Even then the battle was fierce and losses high. However, in the city alone, at that time, lived over 30,000 military officers (both active and retired), all with their own issued weapons and ammunition, plus tens of thousands of other citizens who were armed. The Soviets promised to leave them all alone if they did not intervene. They did not and for that were asked afterwards to come register themselves and their weapons: where they were promptly shot.

Of course being savages, murderers and liars does not mean being stupid and the Reds learned from their Civil War experience. One of the first things they did was to disarm the population. From that point, mass repression, mass arrests, mass deportations, mass murder, mass starvation were all a safe game for the powers that were. The worst they had to fear was a pitchfork in the guts or a knife in the back or the occasional hunting rifle. Not much for soldiers.

To this day, with the Soviet Union now dead 21 years, with a whole generation born and raised to adulthood without the SU, we are still denied our basic and traditional rights to self defense. Why? We are told that everyone would just start shooting each other and crime would be everywhere....but criminals are still armed and still murdering and too often, especially in the far regions, those criminals wear the uniforms of the police. The fact that everyone would start shooting is also laughable when statistics are examined.

While President Putin pushes through reforms, the local authorities, especially in our vast hinterland, do not feel they need to act like they work for the people. They do as they please, a tyrannical class who knows they have absolutely nothing to fear from a relatively unarmed population. This in turn breeds not respect but absolute contempt and often enough, criminal abuse.

For those of us fighting for our traditional rights, the US 2nd Amendment is a rare light in an ever darkening room. Governments will use the excuse of trying to protect the people from maniacs and crime, but are in reality, it is the bureaucrats protecting their power and position. In all cases where guns are banned, gun crime continues and often increases. As for maniacs, be it nuts with cars (NYC, Chapel Hill NC), swords (Japan), knives (China) or home made bombs (everywhere), insane people strike. They throw acid (Pakistan, UK), they throw fire bombs (France), they attack. What is worse, is, that the best way to stop a maniac is not psychology or jail or "talking to them", it is a bullet in the head, that is why they are a maniac, because they are incapable of living in reality or stopping themselves.

The excuse that people will start shooting each other is also plain and silly. So it is our politicians saying that our society is full of incapable adolescents who can never be trusted? Then, please explain how we can trust them or the police, who themselves grew up and came from the same culture?

No it is about power and a total power over the people. There is a lot of desire to bad mouth the Tsar, particularly by the Communists, who claim he was a tyrant, and yet under him we were armed and under the progressives disarmed. Do not be fooled by a belief that progressives, leftists hate guns. Oh, no, they do not. What they hate is guns in the hands of those who are not marching in lock step of their ideology. They hate guns in the hands of those who think for themselves and do not obey without question. They hate guns in those whom they have slated for a barrel to the back of the ear.

So, do not fall for the false promises and do not extinguish the light that is left to allow humanity a measure of self respect.

IMHO, the first paragraph is just telling the truth.

There's no getting around the fact that our country is going downhill faster than greased lightning with the way our government is so two-faced and partisan, not to mention the stupidity of people with some of those reality shows.

reality shows I'm talking about. It's the way people in this country are so disrespectful, sex takes a higher priority than marriage, the drinking and drugs so out of hand, and other things that have been posted on this board in the past and present. (I'm having trouble expressing my thoughts today...best I go for tonight).

There's a lady who writes for our local newspaper who lives in France and some of the stuff she talks about reminds me of the way this country USED to be.

distorted by all the discontented sites you visit to find "proof" that the Democrats are trying to destroy the country. You've done such a job on yourself that now it's the whole country that's destroying itself.

The America you imagine is simply not the one you live in. There is a great deal to admire and build on. Lots of good things happening right now all over the place. If you want to be part of making our country great again, though, you're going to have to start by realizing that is possible.

BTW, term definition? My own version of great doesn't mean having more armaments than all other advanced nations combined. Any booberkin government can build a bomb. I mean GREAT! Wonderful. People around the planet once again wishing they could be so fortunate as to be Americans. But not because we're fabulously richer than anyone else, either. The rest of the world is catching up. That's so wonderful, and a great people is going to be cheering that on.

Really, a country is only as good as its people. The ball is where it always is--in our court.

Very good article. I saw that I think yesterday or day before. It was from Pravda.

The article is definitely true. Nobody likes to see it, but you can't run from the truth. If anyone is to blame its the current politicians. We no longer have the great reputation we used to have with other countries and it's going to take a long time to repair our reputation.

This articles rings true. Also I remember back along when Englands government made everyone there turn in their guns. Guess what happened? Yup, sure enough crime rose drastically. Innocent people had no way to defend themselves. I would say lessons from a country who as "been there done that". If people are smart they will listen to them.

Never said I saw it in the Russian newspaper. Since I don't speak Russian that would be pretty tough. Also, I don't get a Russian newspaper delivered to my door every morning. I said (and I'll quote) "I saw that I think yesterday or day before. It was from Pravda". Which is exactly where I saw it.

NOW...your including an article from Media Matters??? Haven't you learned yet that MM is not a site to be trusted. On top of that they put a picture of Glen Beck? Why I have no idea since Glen Beck had nothing to do with the original article (or Pravda). Oh yeah and they also had the word "anti-Obama hit piece" ROFL That says it all, not worth reading the tabloid paper (which all it is good for IS TP).

I never said you were not telling the truth, for goodness sake. (Read my post. That's how you can tell.) I was simply clarifying, for you and other readers, that the website in question - which both Limbaugh and Beck MISTAKENLY identified as the english language version of a soviet state newpaper - is NOT, in fact, the soviet newspaper, formerly of the same name.

If you don't like Media Matters, that's okay. There are PLENTY of ways to research if you're interested. Now...try again yourself.

Under the Tsar, most people lived dirt poor in isolated - villages, as ignorant as any people on

[ In Reply To ..]
earth, every year struggling to make it to the next one. Try reading descriptions of travelers across "Russia" in those days. Some villages were fairly healthy and stable on decent land under good local leadership, others did barely okay, and people of many others lived in dreadful degradation, and even depravity and beastiality where leadership had broken down long ago. What might a man and his brothers do for "fun" in a 4-hut village when the only pretty girl around is his daughter? Some of these villages could be death for a stranger to enter.

The notion that poverty challenges us and brings out the best is as a blanket notion totally incorrect. Left to themselves, the vast majority of people do not handle it at all well.

And yes, the Tsar couldn't be bothered with them--except when cannon fodder was needed for war, or they got in his way in any way, and then they were massacred by far better trained, disciplined, and armed soldiers.

Wow, a defense of Tsarist Russia - Fanatical Hypocrite

[ In Reply To ..]
When I came here to see what's going on today, I never thought I would see an article like this. Even better, a defense of Tsarist Russia used as a defense of the American second amendment, which isn't under attack anyway, in turn used as a hatemongering speech supporting violence against our, albeit poorly, elected government and the 51% of the population that disagrees with the shrinking minority.

It's kind of funny to hear this guy talk. He sees Tsarist Russia as our conservatives see 1950's America. It was paradise. Now those evil communists changed the history books to make it look like there was no reason for the revolution and make the Tsar look like an opulent, uncaring, fool who loved his personal and family wealth so much that he would ignore his people's plight so long, that they would voluntarily give up their religions and traditions and fight in a bloody uprising simply to get out from under the weight of their broken empire.

That's why socialism pops up. It's not because a bunch of supervillains conspire against the good guys. It's because a group of people were no longer protected under the law and had nothing left to lose. Socialism can only succeed where capitalism has already failed.

As for the gun debate: Again, no one is taking your guns away unless you have guns specifically designed for killing masses of people. Even then, probably a 50/50 chance you get to keep those too. As for the possibility that you need said mini-WMDs to take on the U.S. government and the military when they come to get you, that's ridiculous for a number of reasons:
1. The military are all overseas and will be forever.
2. We'll still have handguns and rifles, so since we outnumber the military 100 to 1, that's still bad odds even if their full strength was back home.
3. The government is far too incompetent to run a gulag. It takes planning, determination and hard work.
4. Americans are too fat and lazy to work in a gulag anyway. I'd be dead the first day out from manual labor. Maybe if you could mine high fructose corn syrup, but we'd just eat all the product anyway.
5. Us progressives already slated our bloodlust when we killed the tsar.

Finally, I'm going to make the Right as a whole pick, right here, right now. The military: Good or evil. I'm giving all Republicans and Tea Partiers a choice. Either our service men and women are heroes and you love and support them, or they are force of national oppression who were assembled by the Democrats to conquer and hold the country after we trick you all into giving up your guns. If they are evil, you will all immediately remove any "support our troops" stickers from your vehicles and never accuse another Democrat of not liking our troops. I swear, all I ever hear from the right is "You hate the troops cuz you want to bring them home!" followed immediately by "We need our guns in case we have to kill all our troops!" I'm just plain sick of it.

As for statistics, while it's true that you never end murder, countries with stricter gun laws than us (Britain, Japan, France, etc.) have far less tragic shootings and almost no mass shootings. Mass stabbings, bombings and acid-in-the-faceings are rare by comparison and typically involve individuals or small groups. For me, I'd rather be attacked by a guy with a knife than by a guy with an AK-47 killing me and all my co-workers or friends. The alternative of becoming a paranoid nutjob with 20 semiautomatics and a pack of grenades strapped to me every second in desperate fear that I will be the unlikely victim of violence seems like too high a cost.

If you're so worried about gun control, move to Mozambique. It's packed full of guns. The AK-47 is on their flag. I'm sure it's the safest country in the world.

key defining characteristic of this personality type is the ability to seamlessly leap from one opportunistic position to another, acting out complete conviction in each of them--temporarily.

Any inconsistency they accidentally notice doesn't bother them--what always remains constant is their virtuous fight against their enemies, of whom there are always more than enough to justify any behavior. To them.

Sadly, if anyone could convince me to actually take the right's guns away, it's the right. I support the right to bear arms, but the more I hear "I'm completely against violence, but if you make me register my weapon, make me go through a background check or stop me from buying 50 guns a month online, I swear I'll kill every man, woman and child that I see," I start wondering whether they really should have those guns after all...

So, Alex Jones and other gun nuts, stop doing everything you can to convince me to stop supporting guns, because at this point I don't trust you with a pair of scissors anymore.

I don't close my eyes to violence and I - backwards typist

[ In Reply To ..]
I certainly don't hate the troops. How DARE you put me in that category! I come from a family who served their country from the Civil War on up: My grandfather was in the Navy AND the Army, served in WWI and WWII; my father was in the Army and served in WWII in the Philippines, my 2 uncles were in the Army and served in the Korean War; and my son was a Marine. Other ancestors on both maternal and paternal side go back to the Civil War, Spanish-American war, etc. I support Wounded Warriors and the USO.

As for stricter gun laws, this Letter to the Editor was in the Nashua Telegraph:

In 1997, the United Kingdom reacted to the Dunblane massacre by banning guns.

An island, Britain should have become gun-crime free. Instead, per the BBC, gun crimes rose 40 percent by 1999. The Daily Mail reported that in 10 years, gun crime rose an average of 89 percent; in some areas by five-fold.

Viewed objectively, the ban actually cost lives.

Strict gun-control Europe is no Eden. Recently, Anders Breivik killed 69 people in Norway. Germany tightened its already-strong laws after one massacre only to experience another.

France, Finland, Austria and others also have seen mass shootings. On a per capita basis, Europe sees the same rate of multiple-victim shootings as here – mass shootings are not exclusively American despite being so painted.

Another common thread binds many shootings: mental illness. Virginia Tech’s Chu, Arizona’s Loughner, Colorado’s Holmes and Connecticut’s Lanza all were known to be unstable but roamed free.

We have become so reluctant to stigmatize seriously ill people, who telegraph their instability for months and are often under psychiatric treatment, nobody speaks. Another mass shooting, also planned for Dec. 14, was averted because people did speak.

Two millenia ago, Roman Seneca the Younger wrote “A sword never kills; it is a tool in the killer’s hand.”

Instead of focusing on guns, used up to 2.5 million times annually to deter crimes and owned by 100 million people who commit no crimes, let’s focus on the far more relevant but difficult problem: Some unfortunate people are too unstable to roam free.

David Hunt

Another site for you to check for mass shootings in Europe is this site:

In choosing avenues to express and disseminate our political values and ideas, however, let us try to avoid using vehicles such as this article. While it may encapsulate some of our grievances accurately, overall it is insulting to the United States, demeaning to us as politically active Americans and generally full of misinformation.â

Couldn't agree more. Don't know anybody who doesn't have some major complaints with the government right now, but linking a political ideology encompassing half the country with communism and suggesting mass violence as a solution to our problems as the original article did is so far past the line.

Arizona Republican congressional candidate Pamela Gorman shoots four separate firearms, including an automatic rifle, in her latest ad. The ad splices together glamour shots of Gorman, a state senator, with her firing off rounds in the Arizona desert. “This year a lot of folks think this is our best shot at changing Congress,” the narrator of the ad says. “Course that ...
