Why is this even being discussed (statement/not question). I read the article and I don't like it. The current crowd (progressives/socialists) gets in and all of a sudden there is talk of new currency (and on top of that the currency that does not look real, which I'm sure the uber-wealthy will not be giving up their "greenies", but the rest of the country will be made to use this new fad paper). Maybe this has been talked about before, but it's the first I've heard of it.

On top of that they are trying to place the current president on the $1. bill. I'm sorry, I just don't like it. I also don't think people like Elvis Presley and Sarah Palin and Eleanor Roosevelt should be going on the Federal reserve money. Wanting to re-do currently and leaving the existing people on the bills but remaking them would be one thing, which I still would not like, but putting current day people on the bills I just find in very bad taste. Especially since one of the people they are trying to put on is going to be one of the people responsible for the mess we are in. And Elvis Presley and Eleanor Roosevelt on the currency? (yes I know it's just ideas). If you want to create a stamp with Obama, Elvis, Eleanor, and Sarah Palin fine, but not our currency. There is nothing wrong with the current people we currently have on the currency. Sorry, but this just doesn't sit well and wonder what other people think. I have not heard the outcome of this. I read the voting ended Sep 30th, but all I think is whose next on the US Currency? Lady Gaga?

After I posted I kept reading more and more and thought about it over dinner. I don't think there would be anyway it would pass. I was reading about other countries money and I think I read in the past that it was tried once before to have different color currencies, but I think there is just a lot of opposition to it.

I think changing the color of the currency is one thing, changing the faces to people of our current day and age (and to some that many do not like) I think would meet a lot of resistance from people.

After reading your message too I do agree with you. Looks like a publicity stunt. No more worries here.

Even when it's not the lack of it, but more the equality in spending it. I just have to tell somebody this - I joined a coupon club online a couple of weeks ago and posted about it and what great deals I was getting, but today is the best... Just wondering what each person is doing now to save money? I personally am still spending every penny I earn at the moment trying to pay bills - but, I have more to pay because I am clipping coupons and using them when things are on sale at a really cheap deal... We have also started recycling plastic, paper, and cardboard as we pay by the pound to dispose of our garbage and recycleables are free if you separate them out yourself. Any more ideas? ...
