Question About Internet Service ProvidersJul 09, 2016
Last night I was watching TV when I discovered that my half my channels no longer worked.  I have bundled service (internet, land-line phone, and cable TV), so I called my ISP, and they told me that they have a "new and improved" system now (sounds like Nuance, huh?) and I would now have to rent a box for each TV in my house in order to restore my fave channels. Um, no thanks. I'm not under contract, so I'm going to cancel my service and find alternatives.  BTW, I've le ...

Pregnancy Rant...SMJan 24, 2010
Ok...here we go... :-) I am currently just over 21 weeks pregnant and I couldn't be happier! However, I am having a very hard time taking people's "advice" gracefully. This is my first child and by no means do I know everything, but I am pretty well versed in the basics of pregnancy (I transcribe for an OB-GYN). It just seems like everybody I know has something to tell me about how I should be doing this, or I should be careful of this or I shouldn't be doing that. And on ...

New Pregnancy, Smoking Problem, Help!Jan 19, 2011
With my other non-MT job at Jewelry Televison if I don't smoke I really don't get a break.  I found out that I am pregnant and I am finding it so hard to kick the habit.  I deal with customer complaints all day on the phone and believe me I want to get away from the phones! and smoke!  I actually started smoking when I started the job a few months ago.  I have cut back where I don't smoke at home which is good for me.  Today I was so stressed out I actuall ...

Question Regarding Terminating A Cat's PregnancyAug 10, 2011
We have a cat we are going to take in tomorrow to get fixed.  She had kittens and now she is pregnant again (at least we think so because her sides are starting to bulge out).  There is no way we can have more kittens, and I won't have them suffer in a world where there are too many already and they might go hungry or get placed with bad people or whatever.  The questions is I'm trying to not think in human terms.  Has anyone ever had a cat fixed after they found sh ...

Pregnancy Making It Harder To Work... Help!Jul 29, 2011
This is my 4th child, but my 1st while working in transcription.  I am 37 weeks and super uncomfortable!  I always have pelvic pain no matter what I do!  I know she will come out when she is ready but I have started looking up home induction.  Mostly everywhere I turn gave suggestions but said nothing worked.  So no induction for me!  Anyways, I am finding it so hard to type.  I have stuffed pillows everywhere and have taken breaks off and on but nothing works ...

Pregnancy Pics, Ultrasounds Of A Baby? Sep 03, 2013
My husband and I married for about a year. His niece is having a baby. I am happy for her but have only seen her twice and got invite to baby shower, out of state, couldn't go, ultrasound of her baby on the invite and yesterday got 52 pics of her pregnancy pictures. If she and spouse happy, good but people should realize not everyone cares about seeing pregnancy pictures and as far as ultrasound, that would be just like me looking at someone's xray that I don't even know and could ...

GOP US Senate Candidate Thinks Pregnancy From Rape Oct 23, 2012
it just so happens that a few hours before he revealed this in a state candidate debate forum, Mitt Romney voiced his support in a local ad release:  "There's so much at stake, I hope you'll join me in supporting Richard Mourdock for US Senate."  Until today, the race to replace Senator Lugar (who is not conservative enough to suit the Tea Party) was at a stalemate with Mourdock's democratic challenger, Joe Donnelly, having a hairline lead....despite obscene infusions of ...

Acrylic Nails - Good Idea During Pregnancy, Or Not? Jul 08, 2013

Section 8 HousingApr 23, 2010
OK, Section 8 housing is defined as: "The Housing Choice Voucher Program is a type of Federal assistance provided by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) dedicated to sponsoring subsidized housing for low-income families and individuals". So, this is a type of government assistance program, right?Does it seem a little odd that someone (who normally is against any type of government assistance such as welfare, handouts, etc) would think it's an acceptable way ...

What Is This Condition??? SmNov 04, 2009
Question here.  There is a gentleman locally who is probably in his 60s.  I see him a couple of places around town, and he constantly talks to himself out loud.  Constantly.  When you listen to what he is saying, he is talking about conspiracy theories and the like.  It is like the switch in his head that tells him to keep his thoughts private has been turned off.  I know there is a medical condition that causes this, but for the life of me I cannot place it.  ...

Update On My ConditionApr 28, 2016
Well, I went Monday to my cardiologist and he put me on new diuretic. So far it works in the morning, but I swell in the afternoon and evening. If two once a day do not work, I have to take four (two twice a day) and two potassium. I just wish something would work. My legs, ankles and feet are still swollen and sore around ankle/leg connection. Makes walking hard and I usually limp a lot and don't stand long or walk long. I looked and you are supposed to exercise some. I just can't ...

Health Insurance Is A Poor Measure Of Health Care.Sep 14, 2011
On Tuesday, the Census Bureau released its annual report on health insurance coverage in the United States. News media widely misconstrued the data and presented the problems facing the nation's health care system through a distorted lens. Many major news outlets made a basic error when reporting on the Census Bureau study. The Los Angeles Times wrote that "the number of Americans with no health insurance rose in 2010 to 49.9 million from 49 million the year before." But the figure c ...

Health Care Reform-Question About Canadian Health CareDec 03, 2009
So....a friend is for our US health care reform (already retired and on Medicare) because he had no trouble going to Canada to get laser surgery on his eyes so he wouldn't have to wear glasses and states there is nothing wrong with the Canadian system....but, and I'm asking a serious question here, how long do people really wait for emergent surgery if they belong to the Canadian system versus the American system as we have it now? How did Canada get their health care system up and ru ...

Mental HealthJan 25, 2011
This job can cause severe mental health problems.  I've been working at home for 12 years and the isolation has taken its toll on me.  That, in combination with meeting such high line counts my brain is always "racing".  I think I'm done with this profession for good.  Its just not worth it anymore.  Be careful not to fall into the depression that comes along with this job working at home and the anxiety that eventually builds up.  It is not healthy to be ...

Not Sure If This Is A Health Issue But...Nov 12, 2013
I have a bra question. I've recently learned that I have been wearing the wrong size bra for years (who hasn't unfortunately). I was sized at Victoria Secret and am a size 34DDD. I've always worn bigger size bras to fit the cups and had spillage and still had a gap in the band part, no matter the size or style, and now I know why they never fit properly. Well, VS has my size 34DDD (of course) in many styles but they are at least $50 for one bra and way out of my price range, n ...

Health Problems Being An MTSep 11, 2014
I'm a relatively new MT and already I'm having a constant ache in my arm and shoulder. It's a strange sensation that I can't really describe. Never had problems physically before until I began being an MT. However, it didn't come on until about a year and a half of being an MT. For those who have been an MT for, say, 20 years, I don't know how you do it. You don't get health problems from working at McDonald's or Wal-Mart, I don't think. Typing 8 ...
