Pelosi receives standing ovation from health care providers.
Posted: Nov 10, 2009
Apparently, not everyone dislikes Nancy Pelosi as much as some posters would have you believe.
;
Please hold while I puke - you forgot to mention - the part about who they were talking about
[ In Reply To ..]
The people from SF, which is her district. They are a bunch (not all) but most are a bunch of loones. These are the same people that elected her... OF COURSE they will do that.
That's about as bad as posting an article saying the people (who happened to be in the region of the country that Bush was from) gave him a standing ovation for starting the war.
It's extremism to the max.
That is how democracy works, silly! - California Girl

The people from Nancy Pelosi's district have the right to elect whomever they choose. You may think that they are "loons," but I have no doubt that they think the same, if not worse, of people like you!

If y'all like her so much why don't you take her on back home? I hope she loses her lofty perch here pretty soon. I'm a born again Democrat...in other words an INDEPENDENT. The Democrats of today are not the Democrats of my parent's day.
Same here. Pelosi is a phony baloney plastic blob.nm - Independent
Exactly. I lived in her district and didn't vote for her - anon

Not everyone who lives in SF voted for her. Just enough of the loons to get her elected. Which is probably one of the reasons that led to my getting out of the loony bin and moving elsewhere. I learned from living there that they are the true origins of the term "loony bin" :-)
Anyway...I still stick by my post (I forget what I put for my monikor and it was too long). Posting an article about a bunch of loons who voted for her are praising her up and down is as bad as if it were an article of all the people who voted and rooted for Bush to praise him for beginning a war she shouldn't have.
Now, if it was an article where the people from Bush's district, or McCain's district were praising her then it would be something worth reading.
senseless - lunarmod
[ In Reply To ..]
That is a false assumption. People who live in her district are more familiar with her history so therefore are INDEED the people who are well-informed enough to offer a valid opinion. People in McCain's district have much less to offer in terms of validity.
That is unless the only opinion you value is republican.

The extremism involved is your lumping of all people in her district as loons. Just because BillO says so, does not make it true. It is almost ridiculous to have to even say that people in a geographic area are NOT all the same. The baggers have dumbed down debate to this level . . .
You do know what happens when you assume - the part about who they were talking about
[ In Reply To ..]
I don't watch BillO, can't stand him so have no idea what he says. Don't ASSume.
I lived in her area. Not everyone in SF voted for her. Not everyone agrees with her. Just the loons who voted her in. I lived in SF my life. I know what kind of people live in SF. Believe me...there are some loons. You should be around for the Gay Pride parade. I also know that not everyone in SF voted for her. There are plenty of us who say she disgusts us. She is a disgrace to the human race.
So before you ASSume I watch BillO, think again. Not everyone who you disagree with watches him or that little weezle Hannity.
That article is exactly what people from her area would say. Just like the people who voted for Bush supported him in the war. If there was an article saying a group of people in Texas gave a standing ovation to Bush for going to war you'd be the saying the same thing we are all saying about this article -
"GIVE ME A BREAK."

I accept that not everyone voted for her or likes her (duh). If people want to give Bush a standing ovation, I have no beef with that. Everyone in the world does not need to believe what I believe and think like I think. that's the diff betwixt me and a bag-dragger.
The "baggers"? Nice...dont expect someone to see you as - open-minded either. nm

Your posts constantly remind me how proud I am to be a liberal. You strengthen my beliefs and encourage me to do whatever it takes to keep the radical right out of office. I have no doubt that your attitude has the same effect on others. Keep up the good work!
You are absolutely right, California Girl - Colleen

It has the same effect on me. I have been getting more involved in the actual process lately, partly because of the rabid right-wing histrionics I see here. I too, am proud to be a Liberal (although I prefer Progressive, which in turn puts the cons under the heading of Regressive which is exactly how I see them) and although I do not always agree with President Obama, I believe has a good heart and soul and will continue to try to gather information from all sides in order to do what he thinks is best for the country as a whole. We just have to "keep the faith" and keep working at getting rid of these silly, selfish fools.

Health Insurance Is A Poor Measure Of Health Care.Sep 14, 2011 On Tuesday, the Census Bureau released its annual report on health insurance coverage in the United States. The Top 10 Stupid Things Said About Health CareOct 15, 2009

Stupid things are always said in politics, whether it's to curry favor with ill-informed constituents, or because a politician is a missing filter between his brain and mouth.
