Did anyone see yesterday's Parade section in the

Posted: Sep 3, 2012

If you did and still have it, there is an article about mich and B.  I won't read it, of course, I couldn't really even stand to look at them, but open it up and look at the pic on the inside.  Does anything look at all strange to you about Michelle's chest?  Or is it my paper?

;

You know, I saw that - and thought

[ In Reply To ..]
they looked like a really sweet, happy couple. Michele was exotic and as beautiful as ever. I LOVED the color she wore and the design and print on her skirt. I'm sorry I can't answer your question about a "strange chest" vs your paper, since I can't figure out what the heck your trying not to say, but I'm quite certain it's not important.

It might have been poor printing - by your paper.

She was wearing a dress with a cutout in it. Ditto on your other comments. :)

I saw it. It looked like there was chest hair - - lots of it.

You "couldn't really even stand" to... - ...look at them?

[ In Reply To ..]
I thought they look full of vitality and affection for each other....relaxed and at ease with each other.

I didn't care for George W. Bush, and I don't intend to vote for Mitt Romney....but just because I don't particularly like them, I can't imagine saying about them and their wives that I "can't really even stand to LOOK at them"! There just aren't words to describe how that sounds. :-( They're human beings, for crying out loud.

Not the poster you replied to, but I understand what she means - I too - sm

I cannot stand to look at them. I get the same sick nauseous feeling that I do when I see pics of Pee-lousy, Reid, Clinton (both of them). To know what they are doing to the country and going on as though nothing is wrong. There are certain people that people can't stand to look at. Pitt & Jolie are the same way. Nauseating. It's more disgust than anything. Disgust their their style of politics, partying like nothing is going on, and running again??? I don't get that one. Running the country into the ground and he thinks people are going to be dumb enough to fall for it again. I guess when you listen to a man who promised the world to everyone. Things were going to get better because he just cared so much, then he gets in and its like *** the people of the country and everything else as long as I get mine. Or her attitude and taking multimillion dollar vacations on the taxpayers money, yeah, I can't stand to look at them. When he calls over half the people in the country "enemies" no, I can't stand to look at him. When he promises to repeal The Patriot Act and then signs it into effect again, No I can't stand to look at him. When she said to him "all this for a damn flag". No I can't stand to look at her. The list goes on and on and on.

I understand perfectly what the poster was saying. Doesn't matter that they are part of the human species. It's what they do that matters. There are a lot of people I can't stand to look at.

That's it exactly. They are such liars, I feel sick - looking at them. Ugh.

Wow. Being a little off balance is normal, but sounds like - ***
[ In Reply To ..]
Just for a comparison, I can read and look at anything either side publishes, check it for new information, chuckle at a joke made by someone I'd never vote for, and admire her dress.

It's not because I don't care. It's because we're all people. Even rabidly biased people who examines newspaper pictures for something that could almost suggest animal pelt are people. Is this what 30 years of indulgence in malice does to a person?
Funny, but the real point of the original post was Michelle's - abundance of chest hair:::
[ In Reply To ..]
No one can tell me whether it was real or not, I guess.

What I find remarkable - is

[ In Reply To ..]
how ***. I respect your right to have different political views, but ***

I absolutely could not STAND W, both as a governor of my state, and even more so as POTUS of my country. When he got a second term, the next four years I felt like I had been buried alive, and spent that time, for the most part, as a depressed, discouraged and and invisible individual, essentially living in suspended animation, without political voice or audience. I despised his policies and what they stood for and, to this day, believe he did much destruction to the country I love so much. But through all of that, I could not bring myself to despise the person, and certainly not Laura Bush even though, as a Texas women, I found plenty there to ridicule as well.

The thing is, I never lost sight of the fact that they, like everyone, are fellow flawed human beings who just happened to land in positions of power, where I felt they did not belong. Still, there were always things about both of them I could identify as likable.

For Laura Bush, it was her infectious smile, a sweet, downright demure demeanor, pretty and stylish. She is and was a dedicated public school teacher who did her best to advance her chosen causes by promoting a POSITIVE awareness of women's health (heart disease and cancer), and never used a negative attack mode to champion agendas that pitted her AGAINST partisan demographic groups...i.e., she was Pro-Choice and supported gay marriage, but chose not to focus on those crusades. I NEVER lost respect for her dedication to her husband, despite the fact I could not personally fathom being married to such a man.

As for W, I did manage to find things about him that made me smile, a few of them I actually admired. One huge plus for me was that, in his personal life, he's a consummate Texan, which provided a number of paths for me to personally identify with him. I have no doubt he's a good husband and good father. Political environmental issues aside, he has a love for the land and finds solace in nature....even enjoys the physical challenges of clearing out underbrush at his Crawford ranch. I enjoyed the cartoonish cowboy caricature element to his personality. When relaxed, I could see he tried to be a good sport and was not afraid of trying new things he probably knew he wasn't very good at, like the time he danced for the press and his unforgettable White-House-lawn performance on African Malaria Day, when he danced, clapped, sang and played the drums. I still get a good laugh out of the extremely adept way he dodge the shoe. Great move, Mr. President.

What I am trying to get at is this. In our personal lives we all have friends and family members who hold political views that are deeply divisive. For example, my mom was a Goldwater conservative/Tory republican, and my sister is a moderated version of her. We try our best to discuss these views respectfully. Sometimes we succeed, other times, not so much. But when we're done with that, we lay it all aside and get back to the business of sharing our lives as fellow human beings who are blessed with the great privilege of being alive in the same place and time. I do not understand why our elected leaders, who assume the awesome responsibility of trying to shape the course and history of our nation, do not deserve the same consideration and level of respect....REGARDLESS of how hard the media and partisans from all walks try to drive those wedges between us.
Wow, what I find remarkable is - that you got that from her post
[ In Reply To ..]
You are to eager to throw around the ***word. It's amazing the degree that people will go to demonize others for having a difference of opinion.

All she said was she could understand because she too does not like to look at them. It makes her nauseous, evidently because they are destroying other peoples lives and going on like nothing is wrong. I can understand that. You see, when someone makes decisions and is in political light and the decisions they have made affects others lives in a bad way and they go on like they don't care because their lives are being enriched and they are paid for by bankers, well I would say I can understand someone feeling nauseous about that. When people are suffering and losing their jobs and homes and the people that are the cause of that are smiling and getting big pay offs from bankers, yes, I too can understand people feeling nauseous when they see pictures or hear them spread fear and lies to get re-elected. It's nauseating because you know how horrible people have been affected because of something that is no fault of their own and the people doing it to them don't care.

You see to me that's called compassion. To care about other fellow American citizens (and people in other countries too) so much that you feel compassion for the people who lost their jobs, their homes, dying in a war that he promised he would end, all because of what someone else does to them so they can enrich their lives. To know that politicians are bought for by bankers and destroy peoples lives while they benefit. You evidently are for him and like him. That's fine, that's your opinion, but others have a right to their opinion and have reasons.

And by your own statement I could say the same about you toward W. You couldn't "stand" him. Wow, I find that remarkable that ***. You felt you were "buried alive". Wow, that much ***.

By their own actions and words they have caused themselves for people of this country not to agree with what they do. Poster also said, it doesn't matter whether someone is a human being or not. It's what they do that matters.

You adore them and that is fine, but not everyone shares the same love you do.
Reducing a person down to a chest hair is - dehumanization that
[ In Reply To ..]
goes WAY beyond the discredited birthers' "UnAmericanization" of the president. That I find and expression of *** is what led me to address this silliness the way I did. Politics are not people, anymore than corporations are. The point I was trying to make has been buried under a mountain of misunderstanding. No problem, but I stand by my post 100%.

I'm sure it was the coloring of the paper or something, but when I showed it to my husband and asked him if he noticed anything strange about the picture, he looked for a few seconds, and then said, "What is that? Hair?!!"

OP: Looks like bad photography to me. A shadow. - nm

Looks like her cleavage to me. - backwards typist

I used my trusty magnifying glass to look at the photo and both on the cover and the inside photos, I think her blouse is cut in a way that her cleavage peeks through a little. Her blouse does look a little too loose in that area.
Then it was probably our paper's fault. Cheap ink. - OP

It was a bad print in OUR paper, too. - (s/m)

It was sort of shadowy and not a very clear picture. It looked like some funky shadow, to me....I would not have even THOUGHT "chest hair." Jeez Louise.

Section 8 HousingApr 23, 2010
OK, Section 8 housing is defined as: "The Housing Choice Voucher Program is a type of Federal assistance provided by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) dedicated to sponsoring subsidized housing for low-income families and individuals". So, this is a type of government assistance program, right?Does it seem a little odd that someone (who normally is against any type of government assistance such as welfare, handouts, etc) would think it's an acceptable way ...

Anyone Read Parade Magazine This Week?Dec 03, 2012
Good article on Howard Buffet, Warren's son.  Just a paragraph or two here, but I went to his foundation and read some of the articles posted in thumbnails, speeches, etc. Eye-opening to say the least. Because of his large farm, he not only feeds the hungry, but teaches them farming, to almost the whole world with the exception of a few countries. So my point is that not all "rich" people are greedy CEOs.  In the land of plenty, more than 50 million Americans, including one ...

I Was Actually Shocked Speechless YesterdayNov 24, 2009
I know it's hard to believe, but I was actually shocked speechless yesterday. I went into store that just opened up a few months ago in the town next to me. It is an accessories store. They sell knockoff designer handbags, sunglasses, scarves, jewelery and other things. I was talking to the man who owned the store as I was browsing the items. I had picked out a few things I liked and was planning on purchasing them. Then, as we were discussing the handbags he had in the store, he showed me ...
