health bill

Posted: Dec 19, 2009

Today he used our money, the "stimulant" package, to buy the Nebraska vote to get it through the senate, just like he used it to buy the Louisiana vote to get it through the house.  That's called redistribution of wealth, our pockets to his...

But, of course, pointing this out is just another crazy right wing tactic....right NJ?

Steps used by current and all previous dictators to take power including "President" Chavez:

1. DESTROY THE ECONOMY.

Obama uses "stimulus" for a huge store of available cash...mainly using it to buy votes.

Taxing small business so they go out of business and we lose jobs. Then "create" jobs for us by giving small business money and owning them to dictate what they do and make them totally dependent government.

Doing the same thing exactly with banks.

Extending unemployment benefits to keep us dependent on the government. Again, increase taxes to do this, and tells us we are very unpatriotic and wrong if we don't gladly pay these taxes to help our unemployed. That is one of the reasons he took, and is continuing to take, our jobs. He already has way more than enough cash to accomplish his mission of "creating jobs for us".

Now is passing a bill for 50% inheritance tax to become effective in 2011, again buying votes necessary. In other words farmers are unable to pass their farms on to their sons when they die. The government will take all of our farmlands as well as anything else anyone may inherit.

2. TAKE OVER HEALTH CARE.

I think this is very clear to everyone. Just bought Nebraska vote to get it through the senate.

3. GET RID OF RELIGION.

No Christmas religious symbols. Now we say "Happy Holidays". It is no longer politically correct to say "Merry Christmas". It is what we are founded on, freedom of religion. If our religion insults you, then go elsewhere. Go back to where your religion is. They don't want to do that because they are not free. hmmmm

After removing all religious emblems and pledge of allegiance in our schools, our children are being taught to chant "Obama, Obama". We must have only 1 "savior".

4. TAKE OVER ALL COMMUNICATION.

Already has control of all but 1 TV news broadcasting company, and all of the leading printed news. We still have some radio broadcasting stations thank God.

Now is attempting to take over the internet for, in his words, "neutrality" on the internet.

5. TAKE OVER TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS.

Now he is "creating" jobs for us (that he took and continues to take) by "updating" our subways and roads by actually installing recorders and cameras in all subway cars and toll road booths. He will create jobs as long as they contribute to his mission, and we need the jobs so we will do it for him. If we don't, give citizenship to illegals. They will be another support base for him because he gave them citizenship and they will do it for him even cheaper.

I could go on, but think about it. We are deliberately and methodically being crippled as a nation and as a people. Our enemy is in our White House.

All replies are welcome. I wish someone would prove me wrong, but with facts, not just opinions.
please point this out to me - what a shame

Repubs and healthcare bill - maggie

[ In Reply To ..]
Remember the repubs said they agreed with 80% of the "old" bill, the one with public option? Well, dems got rid of the 20% repubs disagreed with, so there is no reason for repubs not to vote on this bill, not one! Repubs don't care about the average American, period.

What an ignorant statement. Oh, Repubs dont care, but - Dems DO? Wake up!

[ In Reply To ..]
First of all, I do not believe that Republicans agreed with 80pct of the original bill. ..and nice judging, there Maggie. Many of us are registered Repubs and we are "the average American", so where do you get off deciding people don't care? Personally, I think this entire bill is a disaster. It is only going to cause more problems than we already have. We are going to pay for this for years before it even goes into effect. It WILL cut Medicare. Why cant the idiotic Govt start worrying about abuse and waste of Govt programs before creating another Govt program? This is ridiculous. ..and if Obama and crew worried more about jobs and the economy, those people COULD buy health insurance. He is trying to do too much at once and, therefore, succeeding at nothing.

One question: If the Republicans care so much (sm) - Nikki

[ In Reply To ..]
about affordable healthcare for all, why is it that when they have been in the majority, they never ONCE brought up the issue of healthcare themselves?

Republican Jim DeMint said early on: "If we're able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo." It seems that all they care about is making sure the Obama presidency is a failure. They seem to care about insurance company profits, NOT about the American people who are struggling to pay for healthcare.

I read statements on this board about Obama paying off Republicans to vote for his healthcare bill. I wonder why he's doing that. Could it be that these Republicans are BRIBING him, and why don't they refuse to accept the money (forgetting the fact the Congress holds the purse strings, and NOT Obama)?

Hey Nikki....the insurance companies are supposedly pretty happy with this bill - AzRain
[ In Reply To ..]
since it brings them all sorts of new clients. And of course they'll raise OUR premiums to help cover these new subscribers so once again the middle class is screwed, especially when Democrats are in charge. And no Bambi has not paid off any Republicans to get them to vote for this. He doesn't need their votes since they supposedly have 60 in the Senate and more than enough in the house. He's been threatening them, but not bribing them. It's the Chicago Way you know.
Hey AzRain....Of course, the insurance companies are happy (sm) - Nikki
[ In Reply To ..]
with this bill. The Republicans they pay so well are solidly on their side and that's why there is no longer a public option that would offer competition to these companies.

In case you haven't noticed, most people's insurance rates have already been raised countless of times in the recent past. It all depends on the plan you have.

At least, maybe I will now have the chance to purchase affordable health insurance, so I'm happy about that. Sorry you would begrudge health care to people like me.
You think the Republicans had anything to do with writing this bill? FGS, they were completely shut - AzRain
[ In Reply To ..]
It was written behind closed doors entirely by Democratic staffers and lobbyists. They were proud of the fact that Republicans weren't offered a seat at the table. Real bipartisanship right there, even though Bambi said he would reach across the aisle.

And start saving your pennies, because you can't even buy an "affordable" policy until 2013 or 2014. Of course, taxes will start coming out of your check next year. And that's fine with you?
They had everything to do with ripping it apart (sm) - Nikki
[ In Reply To ..]
because the stupid Democrats were trying to work with them in good faith and gave them the concessions they demanded, such as removing the public option and ability to buy into Medicare. All that is remaining is a huge gift to the insurance companies, so the Republicans got their way, yet they still voted against it. Some Democrats are just plain spineless.

Although it was stated that they wanted healthcare to be Obama's Waterloo, it seems they have failed so far to accomplish that. For the first time in 70 years, we will have a national healthcare plan. Is it perfect? Far from it, but at least it will be a law on the books now and can be amended whenever reasonable people are elected to Congress, including Democrats with spines, if there is such a thing.

I believe it is highly symbolic that help for the poor (if it's actually in the bill) arrived one day before Jesus' birthday and that God denied the Republican prayer that one Democrat should be unable to show up to vote (a very thinly disguised prayer for Robert Byrd to DIE).

That's a quote from a few Republicans over the past few months. - maggie

bill passes. I sat through a meeting last Thursday evening with a group of our local physicians, over 325 in attendance. I was completely FOR this healthcare bill until I heard the concerns and frustrations expressed by these physicians. It really got me to thinking and has totally changed my mind. I am all for healthcare reform but not this bill, not now, not after having things brought to my attention that I had never thought about. While I do not think it is going to happen, I hope and pray for a miracle and that this does not pass. My thoughts are not party-related, they are personal-related. When I sit and listen to this many physicians voice sincere concern over the lack of patient care that is coming down with this bill, it scares me for myself, my husband, my children and especially my grandchildren.

If you have not already, talk with your personal physician and find out their opinions and thoughts on it. I wish I had done this a lot earlier, I would have been hammering my senators/representatives in Washington.

Health Care Bill - it's gonna pass but it's bribery - Backwards Typist

[ In Reply To ..]
For what it's worth, this is BRIBERY, not what they call their so-called "deals." They are paying off the states that were "undecided" or "against" it. When the mafia and/or Al Capone did it, it was considered bribery. What makes this any different?
It's time it stops.

Our governor is trying the same thing threateningto lay off "thousands" of employees if the house doesn't pass a certain bill on gambling. You know what? Let him lay them off. Our state government employees AND politicos sre oo large anyway for our population anyway. They downsized some districts when a pub was governor, but now we have a dem for governor for 2 terms and he "exploded" the government employees 3 times more than when the last dem was in there.

I had some respect for Nelson when he balked, but now I see it was just a ploy to get some of those big dollars for his state. Glad I don't live in Nebraska. He'd be gone in a heartbeat for flip-flopping.
