GOP US Senate candidate thinks pregnancy from rape

it just so happens that a few hours before he revealed this in a state candidate debate forum, Mitt Romney voiced his support in a local ad release: "There's so much at stake, I hope you'll join me in supporting Richard Mourdock for US Senate." Until today, the race to replace Senator Lugar (who is not conservative enough to suit the Tea Party) was at a stalemate with Mourdock's democratic challenger, Joe Donnelly, having a hairline lead....despite obscene infusions of cash from the GOP. Betcha it doesn't stay that way for long, and it WON'T be the Romney ad that turns the tide in this Todd Akin, Part 2 senate race. The GOP's fantasies about gaining control of the Senate are looking more and more improbable these days.

It's not been a total surprise that this trend has continued to build--not since I read about the movement funded by wealthy conservative men beginning back in the 1970s to reverse the freedoms women were achieving. Not that that's how they describe what's happened, of course, and it's taken them a long, expensive haul to get to this point.
Of course they like Romney well enough now, although he doesn't seem to have been their choice. Ryan, though, they like a lot and have flooded Romney with dark-money funding since he took him on.
Romney rushed to distance from him, and now Mourdock is - "outraged" at how his words were twisted
