If someone posted this "want a whomp round your head?  I'll be glad to deliver one to you courtesy of yours truly." Would you consider that a threat even though they are supposedly on the other side of the country?  While there have no other physical violence threats there have been several nasty posts made directed toward my husband because he has the "absolute gall" to disagree with this person.  No threats made by my husband, nothing nasty either.  In fact, what started this whole thing was my husband posting a link to google images of something this person was trying to find that for some reason insulted him.  ;

I would not be offended, if so then others here - have tried to bully me

Take it with a grain of salt and move on, no biggie.

I call them keyboard commandos - laugh at them

that really really makes them mad...what they gonna do from half way around the country?

The anonymity of the internet brings out some pretty nasty behavior. - SM

I used to frequent another website where religion and politics were debated. I was called the C-word, the B-word. I had a guy tell me that "someone" should kidnap my children so that they wouldn't be brainwashed by me. This was in response to my arguing the validity of my Christian beliefs.

It's important to NEVER use your real name or anything that can identify yourself to the crazies.

There is proof of the nastiness here at MTStars. - NPC

Look at the political board. It has really degenerated lately and there appears to not be a moderator so people are being more offensive than usual. I personally would like to know of another political board that isn't so inflammatory. If anyone knows of one, I would love to hear about it via email or here if allowed to post. Thank you.

P.S. I haven't even seen some of the usual conservative posters lately. Where are you guys?

Prayers For My Friend RequestedFeb 24, 2015
My friend had her annual mammogram a few days ago, and she received a call to come back.  Yesterday they did additional films and an ultrasound.  The radiologist told my friend the mass is definitely not a cyst, but is solid.  She was recommended an ultrasounded needle biopsy.  Today I offered to go with her, and I was present for the procedure.  The radiologist present pointed the mass out to me on ultrasound.  It appeared black, and larger than I was expecting.&nb ...

Just Requested A Scholarship Application...for A Painting ClassNov 30, 2012
I have a "cute litle job" - at a day care center.  But I still feel it's a complete waste of time - I could be learning to paint.  My one grandmother was a frustrated artist (she wanted to go to art school, but had to drop out after her mother died, to raise her younger siblings), and my other grandmother was frustrated because she had to drop out in the 6th grade to work in the family store. And then there's my mom......... Then there's me...what the heck, why not?&nb ...

My Understanding Of This ForumFeb 22, 2012
I love to discuss political issues in an intelligent fashion, and I have friends w/ vastly different opinions than my own.  Sure, sometimes it gets a little heated because we are committed to our beliefs.  Thing is, we can sit and discuss the issues w/o calling each other nasty names and judging each other.  Maybe I'm a bit naive, but I can't understand ehy we can't address issues w/o personally attacking each other.  Some of the posts here would make a stellar ...

Re: Forum UpgradeOct 12, 2009
MTStars will begin a major upgrade of our forum software starting on October 7th! Each forum/board will be upgraded; we will be working on 2 to 3 forums per day. Please be aware that you may experience problems accessing the boards during this time. It Looks Like This Forum Is Aflame. Is It SomethingSep 14, 2012
I heard some of these right-wing Middle Easterners are aflame over Masonic-Jewish conspiracies, which made my hair stand on end. What happens if the crazed Western and Middle Eastern wingnuts realize how much they have in common and start destroying together? Once upon a time, the influence of family and neighbors, the local community in geneal, provided some balance and control, but these days they can band together across vast distances. ...

Just Curious About Non-MTs On This Forum. SmNov 26, 2012
I saw part of a post the other day where someone said there were posters here who are not transcriptionists. How many are there? Guess I just assumed that everyone who frequented here was an MT.  I am just curious why you are hanging around a political forum that is part of a transcriptionist forum.  Obviously, you are allowed to post here, but just find it odd you would want to hang around with us.  LOL.  It must be boring here with so many other political forums to post on. ...

A New Year's Resolution For Everyone On The ForumJan 03, 2016
During 2016, I will: *  Post no personal insults. *  Post no insults related to political parties in general, which is the same thing as a personal insult to everyone who belongs to that party. *  Use no demeaning terms to refer to political parties or their members (e.g. "teabaggers", "commies", etc.) *  Investigate every issue BEFORE I POST, thoroughly and objectively. *  Critically assess the veracity and objectivity of my sources of information. *  Will no ...

I'll Be Avoiding The Politics Forum While I Prepare To Vote.Oct 24, 2014
The level of political discourse on this forum is petty and childish far more than informative or objective. Maybe one day we'll all learn to break free from our political masters, stop regurgitating the nonsense that they feed us - and (dare I hope?) discover that no party is worthy of blind devotion or has all the right (or wrong) answers. This nation is at a point in its history when we need citizens who know when something is proven and when it isn't, and citizens who cherish pat ...

It's Been Awhile Since I Posted To This Forum. With Republican Candidates Gearing UpAug 19, 2011
and throwing their hats into the ring for the upcoming elections next year, I decided to sift through the archives of this board, going back to 2008 election and up to Obama's inauguration.  It was interesting to read all the very heated posts on both sides of the party lines.  In January of 2009, the last thing I posted on the subject of Obama was: "Time will reveal King Obama's inexperience and shortcomings." It made me wonder, where are all those passionate Obama support ...

I Need Some OpinionsDec 31, 2009
I have a friend I just connected with who lives across the country.  She lived next door to me.  We grew up together, played together, and went to school together.  Went to her wedding and then she moved and I lost touch.  Anyway (sorry to get side tracked, that has nothing to do with my post).  Anyway…when I told her what I do (MT), she told me her daughter took 3 classes but couldn’t afford to finish the training, and asked me my opinions of the MT field a ...

Need Some Opinions Please!!Feb 15, 2010
I have had a lot of problems with my breasts over the years, have had 3 biopsies in the left and 1 in the right but thank God they have all be negative.  However, over the last several weeks I have been experiencing something different, pain and burning in my right breast along with swelling (not a lot but enough for me to notice).  I have performed self-examinations and other than exquisite tenderness throughout the breast I cannot find any masses (I actually do have a 6 mm nodul ...

Opinions - Is He Just Not That Into Me - Or Something Else? SmMay 17, 2010
Ok... so I met this guy about a month ago - I am the one going out with a guy almost 11 years younger.  He's a very nice guy! Every time I see him he is nice and we talk literally for hours.  He told me off the bat he is not much of a phone person so he doesn't call much, but he sends a few texts every day.  At first he wanted to see me several days a week... one of my friends called him my "boyfriend" though and I think it freaked him out. He had told me he was definite ...

I Could Use Some Opinions Jun 25, 2010
Hey everyone, this is my first time posting on this board, but I thought I'd see if I could get some input. My ex husband met this woman and moved her in with him after only knowing her for 1-1/2 months. I wasn't real thrilled with the idea because we have two kids and joint custody, so they spend half their time at their dad's. Honestly, I was feeling a little jealous about some other woman spending time with my kids. I met her and she seemed nice, so I got used to the idea and ...

My husband and I have been married for 12 year.  He has two previous children from two different relationships, so they have different mothers and then my husband and I have two kids together.  The oldest of his two boys, I have always gotten along with him AND his mother, we have a great relationship.  The youngest of my two step-sons has a crazy mother.  I never say that to him, but seriously 12 years later, she has never remarried, she says she "will never give up my husba ...

Mom OpinionsMay 15, 2013
So, my daughter, who is 9, had all sorts of ear problems, stayed on antibiotics and had to get tubes, whcih stayed in for only 3 weeks and I opted not to get the procedure again.  She finally grew out of it.  My son, he is 13 and never had ear problems.  A month ago though he got a case of Sterp and ended up with a ruptured eardrum.  The doctor told me to take him to ENT to make sure the ear perforation healed after the one round of antibiotics.  Took him to ENT and it h ...

Opinions, PleaseMay 26, 2013
Hi all, What do you think about people who pray for, what I term, silly things? Like what color drapes to buy, what shoes to wear that day, etc. I find it rather silly because people have to take controls over their own lives. I do not believe in "handing everything over" to the higher power. Our higher power (who I term God) gave us brains and will and power to make decisions. I don't call this an abuse of prayer, I just don't understand why some people can't think for themsel ...

To make a long story short, my hospital MT job paid by the hour was outsourced (not saying to who...and not really surprised but thought we had a bit longer before it happened).  I now find myself at a crossroads. THE Limp Man And His OpinionsMar 02, 2012
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/OTUS/rush-limbaugh-democrats-demonizing-sex-comments/story?id=15834374#.T1GHB_UyI7U I always try to listen to sides before I make a judgment, but when there is a old man who has gotten scripts to get his pencil to go upright on top of a boatload of painkillers, etc., I find his rheortic beyond inapprorpiate.  Before you flame on me, I listen to both sides, and I won't attack anything that has a bit of logic. ...

Opinions From Cat PeopleJan 03, 2012
I need a serious opinion.  We have friends who have 2 cats, full-breed, who they have had daily bonding with for a good 2 years.  Said friends are going on a 3-month trip out of the country and are boarding the cats here in the states.  The one cat (before owners have even left) is showing signs of something isn't right--getting out of the house and not duly returning home, peeing smack dab on top of the bed.).   These cats are brother and sister, and will be somewh ...

Need Opinions/help What To Do About A PuppyNov 18, 2009
We had a black lab puppy show up at our house about 12 days ago.  I have drove around looking for signs for a missing dog (small community) and nothing.   I have been feeding this little angel because I CANNOT starve a dog no matter who it might belong to. It had a collar on (no tags) but the collar was so tight on his neck that I waited but finally changed it out.  I have come to find out that a 4th grader on my kids bus says the dog is his.  I told the kiddos to tell him th ...
