Saw Shrek 4 in 3-D it was great

Posted: Jun 7, 2010

Summer is coming and we live in Florida where it is hot and rainy.  My son was bored and I was too... so we found a movie theater locally which did not cost an arm and a leg.  I took him to see Shrek 3-D and it was GREAT! Highly recommended.  I can see how some people might get a little nauseous with the 3-D because sometimes it is hard to take especially with buttered popcorn in the stomach! But it really was great in 3-D.  It really reminded me of the old "Disney."  As well, they showed the coming attractions in 3-D like the new Toy Story and those look wonderful! And for the two of us it came to 17.00 including glasses and the popcorn was only 3.50 and my son had water.  All in all, since I have not been to movies in years, or out of the house much, it was really a wonderful experience.  I highly recommend something like this if you have a child, or are a child at heart, and you can find an inexpensive theater... it really was great to get out of the house!  Better out than in, I always say!

Hey -- how have you been? I haven't seen any posts from you in a while on the *other* board. I've thought about you from time to time, but I don't FB much. Are you still in seminary school?

My kids said Shrek was great. They say it yesterday with DH while my sis and I saw Sex & the City 2. Unfortunately, the theatre we went to was pretty pricey -- $10 a person for a matinee for the 3D. I'm assuming they charged more for 3D b/c my ticket was only $7.50. But we did get a good deal on popcorn. We got a large popcorn and soda for $10 with a free refill. My sis and I shared the first fill and then met DH in the hall so he could finish it with the kids and get a refill for them. All in all, it was a pretty good deal.

Email me and let me know how you're doing. I've been thinking about you from time to time and hope everything is going well for you and your little guy. One of these days I'm going to FB.

Good to see you - startrekmt

Hi mtroadie!!! How I have missed you! It is such a coincidence we both went to the movies yesterday. Did you like Sex and the City 2? I love to look at the dresses :). It sounds like you got a pretty good deal at the movies too. I am doing well at seminary but thinking of getting a real job as the divorce will soon be through and I need medical insurance after that. But my boy is doing well, he is on the safety patrol next year and gets to practice this year! Summer for him is this week and we plan to do fun stuff, and of course go to the beach when it doesn't rain and watch Trek :). It sure is good to hear from you. BTW: This morning my son said he did not want to go to 3-D anymore because if he took the glasses off he could not see. He would like the option to watch both ways, and since he can't have that, he would rather go to a regular movie next time. I was surprised! I guess I am the kid and he is the adult. Stay in touch my friend. I hope you are doing well, and have a great summer!

Our favorite hot sauce may now become either no longer available, or will be made in another country, because some people in the state it's made are "sensitive" to the smell. Okay, there goes another American job/factory and more people laid off because of someone's "sensitivity." If it is made out of the country, the price will go waaay up, not to mention, if it's made in China, goodness knows what they'll put in it. It's Sriracha---we love it. We grow our own hab ...

So, I run into this guy this morning who I haven't seen in about nine years. We're talking and then he says - You're bigger than the last time I saw you. Today Is Going To Be A Great DayOct 08, 2012
I'm just about over being sick.  I don't have to work today.  The whole day stretches before me in pure luxurious possibility.  Yes, I have to do more "job hunting," no the job hunt really isn't going that well.  But today, I'm gonna set that aside. I'm reading Longfellow (poet), I really like it, it's easy to read - poetry that's easy to read, what a concept!  I'm also working on a poem and my novel. It's like 24 hours' ...

Today's Another Great DayOct 11, 2012
Got the car fixed - several things wrong with it - so hopefully fingers crossed it will make it through the winter.  The whole winter.  And there's another car here, so if worse came to worst, I could take that. Moral of the story - a big stress is when "worse comes to worst" is on the horizon, and you have to live with that possibility day in and day out.  So one aspect of that is gone. Bought a nice velveteen-ish jacket at Salvation Army - eight dollars - it is pitiful wh ...

A Great RecipeJan 01, 2013
A woman I met some weeks ago gave me a recipe for crustless pumpkin pie.  I went on line and found one which varied somewhat from hers.  (She uses egg beaters and Splenda in her recipe because her husband is diabetic, etc.)   The recipe I used was perfect!   If anyone would like to try it (maybe for next season) I will gladly share it.  It is great not having to worry about making a perfect crust, which is not my strong point.   I never heard of a cru ...

Some good common sense and an irate reaction to Trump here, so probably this might be only for those of us who do not like Donald Trump - definitely a liberal cast to this blog, but what the heck I have to skim through those diatribes from the Heritage Foundation and that awful Judge Jeanine, so about time to spread a bit of progressive wealth of knowledge. America Is Great BecauseAug 03, 2016
If you watch this video of a Muslim-American (comedian) saying goodbye to America at the RNC (because of Trump's purported measures to ban Muslims and make a Muslim registry) you will see that the people he meets there are so nice and loving. I am just amazed that they go for Trump, who is certainly not a good person at all. I just think this video represents the repeated claim that there are not as many differences in people as there are similarities, that Americans on the whole ARE good ...
